RECRUITING NEW DMS!

You who would shape the world, you who would speak through the voice of a thousand faces, you who would relish the chance to control the destiny of a nation . . .

Now is your chance!

We are recruiting new Associate DMs for the fall quarter. To apply, just fill out the DM application here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=17202

Then submit said application to the Head DM usergroup!

What we are looking for:

- Positive players who want a chance to make things happen;
- Underdark-savvy players who would like to shed more light (or darkness?) on the Underdark;
- Team players who are willing to work with people of all types and all philosophies, while maintaining a cordial attitude towards them all;
- Honest players who have the integrity to be fair and upright in all of their dealings while using the DM client;
- And fun players who are ready to help others have fun, too!

You don't have to be Underdark-savvy to apply as long as you meet all of the other criteria! But we would like at least one new DM who is familiar with the Underdark's lore, and the lore of Sshamath in particular.

We will keep the recruitment drive going until next weekend, 9/24/2017. At that time we will begin reviewing all of the applications we've received.

If we receive any applications after we begin discussing them, we will probably have to hold those applications until next recruitment period!

We are all doomed... One way or another. No more than a collection of specks of stardust waiting to fall apart. No matter what we do, how hard we struggle, nothing truly changes in the end.

- Underdark-savvy players who would like to shed more light (or darkness?) on the Underdark;

The best thing to do with underdark, is to stay far away. The best thing would be to lock the gates and throw away the key. Is this savvy enough?

- Team players who are willing to work with people of all types and all philosophies, while maintaining a cordial attitude towards them all;

Work with other people? They are just in the way, with their unreasonable wishes and demands. It would be better if I could just sweep them off with a broom or something.

- Honest players who have the integrity to be fair and upright in all of their dealings while using the DM client;

Well, I am a man of integrity, and I do have a long list of personal vendettas waiting to be exacted with the full brunt force of the DM client.

- And fun players who are ready to help others have fun, too!

If others do not know how to have fun on their own, it is not my burden to make them have fun.

P.S. No matter how cynical you might be about taking up this task on your shoulders, I would like to remind how your answers couldn't be any worse than mine.

We've gotten some really promising applications so far. Thanks to everyone who's submitted one. It means a lot that we have so many people willing to step up!

Narrowing it down to just a few DMs will be hard. (We recruit in small groups because there's a lot of training that goes into being a DM -- not just learning the client, but the rules, the culture, the environment and requirements, etc.)

That being said, I'd encourage you all to make a hard job harder -- keep sending in applications if you're interested in DMing for BG:TSCC!

We'll be closing the application period this weekend, so that the DM Team can start its review and recruitment period.

If you would like to be considered for our next round of DM recruits -- and you haven't put in your application already -- please submit your application within the next 12 or so hours.

If you miss this round, or are on the fence about it but just don't feel quite ready to put in for a DM position yet, the next recruitment session will occur in 2-3 months time.

A few of the folks who've applied have asked privately for an update, so I figure I might as well give everyone with applications in an update while I'm at it!:

Discussion will probably continue one more week and then decisions will be made on new DMs, with decision letters going out at some point in the week after next weekend. We don't have a limit to how many DMs we will recruit, though we do try to keep the size of new recruit classes to an amount that our DMs feel they can reasonably "train up" to the position.
