The Laws penned down by Players

Around the game, as I have seen it, the laws are not quite clear, about what to do, and what not to do. What is legal and what is illegal and what the sentences are.
It's more or less up to the whims of the nearby paladin or DM (paladin or fist). What kind of magic that are legal and what is not. How many years (weeks or months) for stealing, loose a hand or something. What are the fines for breaking certain laws and so on. Right now it's basically the Paladin codexes that runs the place, and even they don't know them clearly.
Would it be possible to RP a group of Paladins, mages, druids, clerics and so on, that sat down and penned the local laws for every one to see... So a judge actually could be appointed and being a fist, actually gave you power and judgement?

I believe vague laws fit the setting quite nicely .

I can understand the confusion to some extent though .

Fixed sentencing is not how laws actually work in any event.

Also, no paladin group has law enforcement power on the server in areas that have laws.

Outside of lawful areas, anything goes!

You should probably specify that unlawful areas that are not settlements. Because if you don't, others will run around doing things they should not be doing.

There are guidelines after all in those places enough to warrant the fact Roaringshore have actual enforcers (NPCs) and Soubar is on the list too in the link.

The rule of thumb is, anywhere where that's not contested by a number of NPCs is a free for all in it's pure form.

Well laws are an IC thing and that is what is being discussed in this thread.

Server rules are something else. NPC godmoding exists as an issue whether there are IC laws or not. There are no IC laws in Roaringshore, but its possible to godmode the NPCs for example.
