Re: From the sketchbook- Fury's art
The arm behind the horse's head seems a bit odd, but in general I like it a lot. Lighting is just right for the mood.
Going for a chiaroscuro, well done.

Wow, this is brilliant! Really captures the weight on the character's shoulders. You can feel it.

Gah, there's always something that I don't see at the time. Now that you point it out, I see it plain as day. Fortunately digital makes it an easy fix (if I was doing watercolors like I normally do, I'd just have to deal with bad anatomy, like always). Thanks for the heads up!Nyeleni wrote:The arm behind the horse's head seems a bit odd,
There's a million tweaks I could do, and likely will do- no piece of art is ever truly finished. Thank you everyone for the kind words!

I'm so glad you finished it Fury! It looks great. I love the mood conveyed.

You're killing me.
In all honesty, once the right pose was settled on, this took perhaps a week.

Fantastic work! I don't know if I've had a chance to roleplay with Maximilian (probably not if he's not at least a year old), but the image captures the character in a very deep and profound way!

I already told you how much I love it. I'll take this opportunity to admire the beard one more time, knowing how you did that part <3

Re: From the sketchbook- Fury's art
Ok, so... it's been ages since I've posted anything. It's... been ages since I've actually done any art (except this past December, under duress, so I don't really call it art at that point.)
I had an idea after seeing these little... I dunno twig fairies, or something, on Pinterest. It gave me an idea for little... forest spirits, I suppose. So I sat down with a sketchbook and imagined what happened if a golden lion tamarin monkey, my dopey cat, and a potted plant all had a night of really bad decisions. Apparently, judging by what came off the pencil, what would happen would be the stuff of nightmares. BUT I PERSISTED, because surely this idea had merit? Maybe?
Anyway, I pulled out the watercolors the next day, and gave it another go. I think the little critter turned out kind of cute this time around.
This is about midway through the process:
And this is the little guy finished:

This is only more evidence that you should definitely NOT throw away your art supplies! I highly admire and envy your great proficiency with traditional media (and the lack of a need for CTRL+Z). I wouldn't even know where to start trying to do something like this.
So many kudos!

Oh! I like this! I got myself a big box of paint/crayons/pencils etc not too long ago...
This actually gives me an idea to do for easter with spring colors! Easterbunny/furry/critter mix or so I used to send my grandma a card with these kind of creatures. Time to call back an old tradition!
Ty for reminding me and well done once again!

Re: From the sketchbook- Fury's art
Really interesting Fury! It looks like something that could be a not-so-benevolent spirit that lures in the unwary. It's face and tail showing it looks cute, but the body and limbs are dark and foreboding... A protector of the forest able to draw in poachers, loggers, what have you and ensure they do not continue harming the flora and fauna.
Great looking art!
