Duster's Workbench

Unread post by Duster47 »

Some of you may recall I dabbled a bit on BGTSCC both IG and behind the curtain. I, like many others went my way. And like many others, check back every now and then (sometimes years later). Although I am not doing any Toolset work that does not mean I've been idle lately.

My workbench:
Image

In 2019 I built this:
A ROCAF F-104G circa mid-1970s, 1/48 scale.
Image

A German StuG-IIIF circa fall 1943 Kursk retreat, 1/35 scale.
Image

Then somehow I've been more productive in 2020.

An RAF Hawker Typhoon circa 1943, 1/48 scale.
Image

A Klingon Bird of Prey ~ 1/1000 scale. Home-printed decals on this one. Note the ship's name; no shame here. :D

A US Army Air Corps P-39K, circa summer 1943, 1/48 scale.

I've not given up gaming though.

I could probably get more of the stash built if I was not here so often.

These posts always serve to remind me I should do something more productive with my time.

Glad to hear from you, Duster, and to see you're still keeping up on your hobbies! I love the models. The Klingon ship with Klingon text is great. :D

Very nice workshop!

More projects completed with landscaping. This was something fun with a bit less attention to historic accuracy.

Greetings BGTSCC. First Valqis will insist I share "happy northern autumn equinox" with everyone.

Its been awhile and a lot happened in my RL. We've been empty nesters for a few years. Talked about downsizing now and then. Well, we finally did it. Sold the house and now enjoying more carefree apartment life. We got rid of half of our stuff but that was OK as we really did not need it anyway. In a year or two we'll go to condo-type thing.

My new work bench. The magic black box (nice Dell XPS) is under the table.

I finally got around to finishing some figures.

Figure painting is a different skill set that I need to spend more time with.

They are WW2 RAF pilots in 1/48 scale. Each is about 1.5" tall.
I finished another airplane.

It is a P-51D "Red Tail" flow by FG-332, AKA Tuskegee Airman, 1944 Italy. My first attempt at natural metal finish using laqueur paints. 1/48 scale Hasegawa kit.
How about some landscape work?

Ancient Roman Road base, ~ 5"x5" made from air-dry clay, painted stones and Woodland Scenics ground turf seams.
What good is a base without something to sit on it. More fun from Meng...
