Hello, everyone!

I am an entirely new player to BGTSCC (I found this module while browsing through the vault for single player content after reinstalling NWN2 and decided to try it out). I have some experience in roleplaying (both as player and DM), but this is my first run on an RP-focused persistent world.

I've started playing during this past weekend, and it has been a very enjoyable experience interacting with people that are in character all the time.
Finding other low-level PCs to partner up with has been a tad difficult, but the few that I was able to cross paths with were very approachable, and we were able to have a few dungeon crawls that I found quite entertaining (but combat balance-wise, and RP-wise).

Hi, I've played here for many years, at times taking long breaks. Not sure what year I started to be honest. It was back when +2 gear was a big deal and gear had level requirements to use. I have a lot of mixed feelings about the DMs, but BGTSCC has come a long away and all the work and effort put into it has been incredibly impressive.

When it comes to playing, I really enjoy moving from area to area with a heavy blend of combat and RP. I love the mechanics of building characters and making what I believe are unique builds. I also am fascinated by mechanical conversions, building characters from other media and figuring out how to create them within the d20/NWN2/BGTSCC systems. A lot of my characters come from my own fantasy writings and putting them in BG gives me a lot of insight on personality building and character development.

I've held maybe 5 or 6 different accounts? I am not sure what they all were. I've only used 1 name for the last many years, Rallura Drake. Originally it was to develop that character, but things spun out of control and I've ended up with somewhere around 50 characters. I'm pretty good with character building and I know the server very well, so if there are any questions from players, developers, or DMs, I'd be happy to help. I'm currently banned, not sure why, but happy to clear anything up there as well.

Hello there!

My name's Krilari and I've been roaming around the server for the better part of the past month so I figure it was about time to introduce myself. Compared to the masses I'm a bit of a newcomer to NWN2 having only played for the past two years on various other servers. Now coming here alongside a few friends I'm looking forward to exploring a bit of the other varied opportunities presented here on BG, from both the mechanical and story-oriented aspects.

For characters I'm currently roaming about with a roster of two: Abwan Valorstride, an aged Half-Orc Barbarian; as well as Usi'dora, a young a d hopeful artificer with dreams of greatness within Candlekeep's walls. Should you see me roam about on either feel free to give me a nudge be it for RP or grinding.

Greetings to the community.

Just discovered this server two days ago (and two days before that is when I started playing NWN2), and was glad to see a RP server setting in the Forgotten Realms with everyone's favourite 3.5e ruleset as the base mechanics (and I know 3.5e is not everyone's favourite but you know what I mean).

I have played D&D since late 2019, haven't played too much due to the lack of players in my area, but still enough to say I'm kinda experienced; have been as a DM more than as a PL (due to the same reason above), always valuing role playing and enjoying creating characters, unfortunately there are not many opportunities (and the other players I played with mostly didn't seem to care about these), so playing in a server like BGTSCC is something I want for a long time.

I'm currently playing a tiefling wizard named Zel Castriver (whose model in game may not seem to have horns because I can't find a suitable hairstyle with horns for the character), is now LV2 and struggles to gain experience. Basically as a LV1 wizard with only 6 hp and -1 melee attack penalty I died 6 times fighting rats and it took me quite a long time to get to LV2. I was planning to go for a Arcane Tricster like build so I picked rogue at LV2, which made my life a bit better but not too much; after LV2 I died more often with hundreds experience lost in the bandit cave (and two times killed by boars in Beregost).

I would like to find some groups instead of playing all solo, but my character isn't someone who will say hi to everyone seen in the street, not to mention ask some random passing by strangers to adventure together.

So sadly I haven't had many chances to RP so far. The only time another player interrect with me is when someone nod at me at the Baldur's Gate dock, yet I didn't really figure out how to interrect with players at the time so my character just standed still while I was randomly clicking on the UI and then the player disappeared.

Now I am trying to work on the rewardable biography thing to see if I can get the 20000 experience, and probably also enjoying the fun adding more depth to my character.

Welcome to the Server!

If you are trying to get together a IC group, might I suggest that you post an IC rumor to the appropriate thread here on the Forum, which could help “jump start” a/your adventuring group.

There is also the OOC “lfg” channel on BGTSCCs Discord.

Finally, you can also use the in-game SCRY gui to list your PCs situation, as in “Looking for Group” and to show your PCs level.

Most importantly though: don’t be shy to ask for help, IC or OOC. Starting off on BGTSCC can be a challenge, even more so as a Wizard (only being a Sorcerer is harder!!).

Cheers.

A tief wizzy sneaker type. I had one of those once.lots of fun. Try and get HIPS.
For experience I would try doing some of the quests. I would try and hire a nice player to show you them. Fyi -Wizard is a tough first toon to grind levels.
Get a xbow and kite zombies in the BG graveyard (if it's still around)
I would recommend rping a more of an extroverted personality white getting to know the other players and toons
My tief trickster was a real joker and found guild to join even though he was shifty as hell (pun)..

Welcome btw!

I always put up all my informations and the "Looking for Group" in the SCRY but nothing has ever happened so far, maybe because my level is too low.

I may try post a rumour after I finished my biography, thanks for the advice.

I think I have completed all the quests I could find in and around the Baldur's Gate, except those require me to go somewhere with a CR higher than 1 (which are quite a number of them).

I don't have a crossbow but I bought a +1 shortbow (and a +1AC ring plus a lot of Heal Light Wounds Potion to help me beat the Bandit Cave, cost me over 4000 golds in total) after I got the rogue level, and then no I don't think I have any more gold to hire anyone (this actually depends on the market price. Ecnomics, right?) or any efficient method to earn golds.

As for personality, well, if you ever see my character's portrait you will know it's definitely not the extroverted type. Got to stick to the character; it make sense that not every adventurer in Faerun is out going right?

Anyway, thanks for the advice, and by the way the graveyard is still around and the zombies are hard to kill.
