Bah, not the first here, but still xd

My huge thanks to DM Ink for creating this sudden snowfall event and even animating Sin's snowwoman, that felt really great and refreshing and I even felt some warmth inside during it, thank you again ^^

Ink is an amazing multitasker. Was doing that and at least two other sets of things during the snowfall. That kind of focus on players makes the world really feel alive whether it's during a major event or just little stuff here and there.

Kudos also to Dragonclaw and other DMs for bringing the NPCs in the Muse to life in the face of the enormous crowds that have been showing up there lately. Little stuff like this really makes the game feel immersive and alive which is the best thing you can say about any roleplaying experience IMO.

I have to second this and thank you to everyone coming through and whatever else happens IC, I am really enjoying my stay this time around! Don't think I've hung around BG for this long a period in the 7 - 8 years I've been here on and off, that says something about the players!

In case you didn't know, I was the 4th player to download this module from the old NWNVault. I do not think that the server had anything beyond a bit of the city, a small bridge, and some beetles when you went down a well.

You weren't all horrible.

Anyhow, the above are a bunch of random images that I had saved up on a BGTSCC folder over the years... There are probably lots more on other old hard drives of mine... but if I cannot recall what the above were even about... Why bother digging up the other hard drives for the rest?

Oh yeah, many, many years ago Hoihe claimed that his character was wearing a gown. And yes, the piece of cloth Hoihe had in mind is indeed called a gown, the only problem is that these days the word gown mostly reminds people of a wedding dress! So there you go, at least two of the above images are explained, Hoihe Dacino in a wedding dress!

We didn't share the PWC to the vault early on because it was moderated / deleted as being in the "wrong" category, when there weren't any PWC categories at the time so it kept going in "Misc"

That sounds true enough for me, at least kind of true since it has been over a decade. In late 2007 and early 2008 I was actually looking for a BG NWN Total Conversion mod, and I do remember being disappointed by what I found, downloading and deleting it shortly after, and then having trouble finding it again after some reconsideration. And I do recall logging into the server at one point and it being entirely empty and dead in what are the low EU hours today.

Hmn, that springs to mind, I wonder if they have ever finished the IWD Total Conversion one... I remember it being a work of very slow progress... I think they did...

Anyhow...

Go ahead, and if anyone asks where you got them, just say you forgot where you stole them from. I would hate to have someone send me a PM and then never get a reply back.

A big round of Kudos to DM Mercy for today's event- it's never fun as a DM to suddenly have your players pick the one thing you didn't plan on, and even worse when they split the party. You handled it with grace and aplomb, and made sure to give everyone their fair turn of the action in the end.

For those of the party that were stuck on the waiting end, kudos to you for your patience in waiting it out for a while.

To all the players who celebrated "Mae's" finale today, thank you.

Amora Lininlith (Lekner) - You routed out my ruse in such elaborate style that I couldn't help but reward you with a permanent reminder of evil. Thank you for taking my RP to the twisting and turning layers of intrigue that you did.

Nathan Goldenmane (Winterbourne) - You've been on Sir Anthem's trail for almost a year and you deserved a better ending. You're not going to get one, sorry! :D

Sir Anthem Arnemeiger (Darradarljod) - You're the best friend a 'Helmite' could have asked for! Besties forever! Thanks for letting me permanently murder your PC!

Wren Di'Corvi (Fury_US) - I'm sorry our interactions couldn't have been as organic as you wanted, but nevertheless: Frenemies forever!

Arn - For letting me permanently murder your PC.

Wyatt - For letting me permanently murder your PC

Ardem Yay's player - For letting me permanently murder your PC

Wildsheep - For letting me permanently... oh wait we retconned that. Your punishment is still outstanding. Wait for it. :P

And to my special groupies (you know who you are), thank you for making my first full-time evil main a blast to play. I know we couldn't always get organised due to timezones (mostly) and enact all our diabolical plans, but the ones that matter are done!

Bio & journal to be moved public soon for everyone's reading pleasure.

RP at it's best is a dynamic effort between players where stories can alter and change and become something you never imagined or saw coming, where all of the players are building an ever growing story, rather than just one. I'm glad you got the ending you apparently wanted, however.

Still not sure why I deserve thanks, or even the title "frenemy", given I added absolutely nothing to this tale, but... I guess, you're welcome?

Do you remember how they met? Anthem sought the cleric Mae out at the Friendly Arm Inn to join him and his fellow adventurers on an excursion through the labyrinths of Cloakwood. On arriving at the den of stinking evil Anthem was met with Mae's great devotion to Helm, god of Guardians, with respect for whom she could not in conscience slay the minotaurs charged with guarding the labyrinth, even though they were evil. Despite the impatient suggestions of his friends, with respect to her conviction Anthem resigned from the party of to escort the cleric back to the Friendly Arm Inn. That was the start of their so-called friendship...

How suddenly it all came to a head! After months of our characters playing side by side with no evil suspicions on my part in that time, IC or OOC...finally that stomach sinking encounter at Corm Orp when an evil was confirmed by the laying on of hands, and only days later the fatal duel that saw a perfect end to one of my longest and dearest character.

I was so blown away by the greatness of the betrayal and the depth of the deception, and I remain flattered to have fallen to so fine a foe. Well played, sir.

(As a fond side, I laugh to remember Mae apprehending my briefly played thief in the Friendly Arm Inn after failing to pickpocket Raganhar the barbarian).

See you in game brother. :violin:

*breaks into Thread of infinite appreciation*
Here's my turn to hand out gratitudes!
Firstly, I'd like to start with Zar Ut Khan, the most badarse evil guild around!

aaron22 — Your passion for orc roleplay and devotion to the guild made me feel I'm a part of something great and important, I felt really comfortable with you as a leader, thank you for supporting me all that time.
krogi — Another devoted orc RP'er who started all this with Khar, who was around even before Zuk made so much noise, I liked the way you roleplayed your creepy haruspex!
PopsTheThird — You have unusual character concepts I enjoy, that's always a pleasure for me interracting with your characters and you as a player.
Montleberry — Thank you for your high quality Luthic priestess roleplay and several cool missions with Gerfrex.
Slunko — That was a really great rival roleplay we had, Gerfrex's journal has started and ended with a duel with Dar'gul, and I really enjoyed your character (Katrin's death made Gerfrex furious, but it really touched me as a player t_t), I hope you return someday!
Sputnik — Rannia's abduction was that very event that involved me into Zuk, you were doing much for the guild, thank you for that.
Ariexedes — While never playing an orc, you made a great impact on the guild activity and development, thank you for all the fun we had!
Leramak — Who would've known that a simple spontaneous abduction could go that far? Despite the fact my current active character hates yours, I remember all the great moments we had!
Lanzlo — Not that we had many interractions, but those we had were fun, thank you for being with the guild.

Of course, I didn't forget the DMs who created great (sometimes spontaneous) events for da orcs and like to thank them!

DM Doom — For your challenging events, I especially remembered the event with demon lair and hellrider patrol, that was truly great (a pity I couldn't take part in the attempt to take down the golem due to RP reasons, some guys say we could've achieved it with my aid =p)
DM Unicorn — For your multiple Uruk Lurra related events with orc npcs, many of them were very spontaneous (as I love), for some reason I memorized the zombie orc attack on the Upperdark camp the most!
DM Golem — For your series of guildhall related events, I really like your style (and that's not only about orc events!), we still carry those antenna trinkets with love.
DM Spartacus — For leading Uruk Lurra campaign, hosting Rannia abduction plot and many other good things (I guess many of them happened before my time), thank you!
DM Gogo (Endelyon) — There was only one spontaneous event, but it was so epic that made me believe we're going to lay siege on Soubar within a week! That was really great and everyone had fun, it would be great to see more of your events!
DM Soulcatcher — We attempted to burn the whole Cloakwood down and got a proper response, it was still a memorable event despite us all being rekt! (I wonder if we could actuall defeat those pixies, hmmm)

I'd also like to thank all other orc players I had episodic interractions with, as well as our IC foes who have shown a mature and adequate attitude (and sometimes even turned occasional skirmishes into whole plots!). Roleplaying an open evil threat is the most challenging kind of RP, any behind-the-curtains plotting pales in comparison with it (trust me, I tried and saw both). As I noticed, every season on bgtscc has its own list of most active guilds that changes the next season, I call it waves, and Zuk's wave has currently ebbed due to multiple reasons, but I still remember with warmth all the fun we had! At this very moment, the server doesn't have any active openly evil cliques nor guilds nor even lone villains (only neutral guys and secret/disguised organisations), and the overall game experience has trully changed due to that, becoming much more pale and routine. This world needs evil, it needs its villains as any quality exciting story does, and Zuk shall return someday. We were roleplaying the evil as it is supposed to be roleplayed, never forget it, guys!

P.S.
Since I'm here, I'd like to add some more bricks to this wall of text, not (directly) related to da orcs.

Shadowspinner — A great roleplayer and a wonderful person, I can't even recall how many interractions and events we had on multiple characters, and perhaps we'll have even much more! Keep doing your sinister work
Darradarljod — You are an amazing roleplayer and you were an excellent guild leader. I know we didn't talk much after, and you might think I ruined your efforts (which is partially true), it's really sad it all ended as it ended, sorry for that.
niapet — You are not around for a very long time now and you'll likely never read it, but you were that very rival that made Dasha's story so exciting and dramatic.
yashana of thrae — You were mentioned at this thread multiple times already, and I'm turning it into multiple plus one! You're always staying true to your characters and never show bad roleplay (unlike me), as well as never use OOC agenda in your RP (unlike many others), it's always a pleasure dealing with your characters!
kitteninablender — Don't listen to anyone, you're gorgeous, stay true to your style!
wyatt — A person who "always plays sidekicks" and does so with passion, I really liked your characters and perhaps someday we'll meet again!

There is another person in this list I'd like to specifically mention:

Wildsheep — I know we're not getting along lately, but I still remember our past RP with warmth, a story of power I still can't repeat. Quotes such as "Show them your teeth" and "You know, we could have been good friends on another life" still resonate deeply inside of me, I'm terribly serious. I never told you that, but you're the reason I didn't leave the server for good in may-june. Sorry it all ended like that Q_Q

P.P.S.
And to conclude this post, I'll add a general message for the playerbase. I understand many of you might have a very low opinion about me, perhaps in some cases it's even well deserved, but, despite making a huge ammount of mistakes in my time here, I never aimed to hurt anyone nor to have fun on anyone's expense. I understand that sometimes I might sound harsh, and that's true I'm a hothead who can do stupid things in a rush of emotions and then regret about them, so I apologise to everyone who has ever felt drained after dealing with my characters. Still, there is a thing we all keep forgetting about — the characters we play are not the persons behind them, and that's true in my case as well. I'm learning from my mistakes and doing my best to improve myself, yet I'll stay true to my preferences and keep playing anti-heroes and villains — simply because I find good-alligned RP boring.

But let's not conclude this on a sad note — I thank you again, playerbase! There were many more cool players I had a great fun dealing with, the players I forgot to mention, I'm really sorry about that!

Cheers, your favorite ruiner.
