Upgrading to Windows 10 questions.

I'm finally bumping up to 10 from Win 7... apart from saving my NWN2 hak files on a thumb drive, is there anything else I should be doing to get the game up and running smoothly(for play on the server) after it's finished?

Cheers.

Make sure Windows Firewall allows NWN2 through, can't recall if doing the upgrade messes around with firewall settings.

I think your user settings (nwn2.ini and nwn2player.ini) get saved in the Neverwinter Nights 2 folder in Documents, so backing those up as well might come in handy.

Cool, thanks. I pretty much saved my entire NWN2 folder from my documents, so I can pluck out anything else I might need.

.net 3.5, .net 4, dx9.0c runtime.

You may also have difficulty running CE with Win10 flagging it as a false-positive "3rd party device changing software". Simply Run As Administrator and that will nullify that issue.

What about this issue? I don't see anything in there about windows 10, and I'm getting the long wait as the game tries to authorize with Bioware... same procedure as Win 7?

** Edit ** Got it sorted, used the same method I used for Windows 7.

skywing CE for that.

Everything went relatively smoothly... well, my old 3TB HDD had bad sectors(which was a mess, the drive kept vanishing from file manager when I was installing things) so I had to put in a new one, but other than that I really like windows 10. I honestly cant believe how much better some programs run(such as Battlefront 2), it's like night and day.

One small thing though: when I boot up my PC, it usually hangs at the screen with the windows logo and the spinning circles, which just stop spinning, and then... nothing. I've scoured the Microsoft forums trying fixes(command prompt scans and repairs, etc), but no luck so far. Anyone else ever experience this with Windows 10?
