Physical Description:
Harwin is a tall, tanned young man with the strong brow and chin of his father, Jonas Rokranon. The rest of his features tend to be softer and take after his deceased mother, Melian. His blue eyes are of a startlingly deep hue, and often alight with mirth. They are kindly and warm, although their depths speak of the horrors of battle he has seen in his short life. The paladin eschews the more traditional well-groomed vision of a knight as he tends to simply let his mop of brown hair remain tousled and wind-blown. He generally carries himself well, although has been known to slouch on occasion when in trusted company.
The paladin wears a set of well-polished and well-maintained full plate and favors blue for the color of his cloak. He keeps a shield slung behind his back when not in use, and there is always a hand-and-a-half sword at his left hip. The sword is both functional and elegant in its simplicity, much like that of his father's. If out of his armor, he favors simple tunics and vests.
The man's voice is warm and jaunty. His speech tends to be exceedingly informal and laid-back (heavy use of contractions), and spoken with an obvious middle-class Athkatlan accent. However, he is educated and can speak well when the situation warrants such.

Harwin frequently laughs, but keeps it internal, so that his body shakes with silent humor. He runs a hand through his hair when nervous or in thought, and it only serves to further muss the unkempt locks. Being the son of a former noble, he knows that titles are important and tends to call most people 'Saer' as he remains uncertain of their birth and station.
Hobbies:
Harwin is an dedicated reader thanks to Valerius' influence on him, and he loves the fine arts (especially comedies). Like his father, the young man enjoys the calm of stargazing.

Personality Description:
Harwin tends to be a bit goofy. He likes a good joke, and likes bad ones even more. He is confident in his ability, but not in his interpersonal skills. The young man still gets embarrassed easily, but is at least able to laugh at himself. Harwin has been trained by his father, and thus has wisdom beyond his years in terms of his world outlook and the paladin code. He hates dark beers. He is sentimental, and devoted to his family, particularly his siblings, but is not especially close to his father Jonas.
Background:
Harwin calls Jonas Rokranon father, but in reality Jonas is his adoptive father. It was Jonas' twin Kelorin who actually sired the young man with his mother, Melian. Harwin was raised in Athkatla by his grandfather and some of his many adoptive uncles because Jonas was usually crusading. He has visited Baldur's Gate on occasion (usually with his twin sister, Doriah), and knows a few people who were around back then. On the first visit in 1345 DR, he and his twin were trapped for about a tenday in the passes of the Cloudpeak Mountains due to hazardous weather. After the summer of 1346 DR, Harwin disappeared for many months and to this day not even Doriah knows where he went. He resurfaced about the time Jonas remarried Alistaria in very early 1347 DR.
He chose to follow Helm due to the influences of his uncle-by-oath, the wizard Valerius. For the past three years, Harwin has been fighting with Jonas in Tethyr as a warrior on the front lines. This experience has left him deficient in fighting small groups or in single combat.
Goals:
Harwin is a paladin, but for now is content to be a soldier that sets a good example. After observing his father for so long, he does not have aspirations to be a great leader of men. He feels there are other, subtler ways of doing what is right. For the moment, he is focusing on being a reliable and loyal defender of those he holds dear. He would, however, like to establish a strong tradition within his family as Jonas has mainly focused on restoring honor.
Miscellaneous Facts:
♦ Harwin travels back and forth between the Sword Coast and Tethyr via teleportation provided by one of three wizards employed by his father at Thrynnar's Hold, the Alonmarch, Tethyr.
