Background:
A man given the name of Gin (by Quinath Nar) after awakening in the Vault of the Dead after a dark ritual was performed; walks the land, unsure and unknowing of his new surroundings. He is not akin to anyone, but instead a inhuman creation taking human form. He seems to bare a suffering he bared in what can only be described as a previous life. A suffering of being outcast with nowhere to belong. The Order of the Balanced Hand took him in, giving him restored faith, hope and will to carry on. He finally belonged.

When he has control of his mind, body and soul, his name is Gin, he is quiet, good, suppressed, disciplined and caring to those who also bare sufferings such as him. He sympathises with those who suffer, and so naturally he became a monk of illmater, and then later became ever faithful, able to bring forth blessings from the deity as a sacred fist of illmater.

However there is a dark history and past that follows Gin. A Dark Tiefling Ghost by the name of Qin, a Monk, who once walked the shadows and assassinated many in his final days of madness. For many years Qin tried to adapt and fit in with his surface dwelling piers, all but to feel like an outcast. After many years of suffering he seeked a way he could become more accepted among them. He eventually discovered path to a dark ritual, during his meditation in the shadows. By acquiring a dragon egg, a scroll of necromancy and by using the powers of a dark necromancer to bring them to the darkness of the Vault, he was able to trade his body in for a human one (so he could finally 'fit in'), but only when a magical kukri used by a dread pirate had first stabbed him through the heart killing his old Tiefling body.

But all did not go as planned, Instead of acquiring a human body and being a surface dweller, a human was born with his own soul, and Qin haunts the soul with his ghostly visage. Many of the dark monks powers (of shadow and assassination) were naturally received by Gin, the Sacred fist of illmater because of this life trade.

The 2 lost souls wrestle over the human vessel

Gin was named by Quinath Nar when Quinath found him lost and wondering the land as he had no name until that point, When the meeting took place Qins ghost revealed himself to Quinath

Goals: To overcome the ghost that haunts him and ease his suffering to the next plane

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
- Qin gave a seed long ago to an elf called Ithelwen (spelling needs to be checked, character was played by solaris)

- A dragon egg and a scroll of necromancy was used in the vault of the dead on level 2 during the sacrifice. The Kukri that killed Qin is in Quinath Nars possession, passed to him from the pirate belladonna (The pirate that stabbed Qin during the ritual)

- Qin owed the pirates money for the scroll of necromancy he took, he never paid them, but instead tried to settle the debt by allowing Belladonna to take his life to even it out during the dark ritual

- Quinath Nar has an old powerful ring which was once Qins. Qin wanted him to have it so he could also be close to him through its power

- When Gin casts Ghostly Visage sometimes the visage emits a light that represents Qin the Dark Teifling monk (draped in black robes). This is when Qin takes hold of the human vessel and gives his ghost the ability to speak. He has a snake like, forked tongue and hisses, has red eyes, long black hair and hassss issssues sssssaying the letter Ssssss

Background:

Life before Gin
=========
Qin has lived life twice and his story is as follows. Qin started life as a Monk of Shadow with no alignment to any Deity and was considered a Monk of the Old Order during the time. Tieflings born with such demonic heritage are commonly killed at birth. With scaly snake like skin, a forked black tongue, spikey teeth and red piercing eyes his infant life was more often than not very lonely. In his teenage life he studied the art of a Monk Order of the Long Death (Unknown to him at the time) but not as an accepted monk, but rather from the shadows, eaves dropping from the darkness. By studying these arts, it was unknown to him that it would later serve him a bargaining chip with Myrkul (in favour of the Long Death) later on.

He joined the Order of the Balanced hand but served as its darker counterpart to all things that brought balance as the order was predominantly filled with Monks blessed by the lighter walks of life.

After many moons of walking the surface he was singled out, and unaccepted among many despite his efforts of making peace. This eventually drove him to a madness which had him wish to be normal. He stumbled upon a ritual which would turn his body to human form, and obtained the means to complete it. This would finally put him at peace, as he would be able to walk the surface in a human form, accepted among others.

The ritual was aided by a Pirate by the name of Belladonna, A cloaked Elven Traveller and a dark Necromancer in the Vault of the dead. He was stabbed in the heart by the pirate upon the ritual being cast, and using that of a Dragon Egg and a scroll of Necromancy which was taken from the Pirate without payment. Reborn as a Human, all did not go to plan. The Human was reborn with its own soul, the soul of a Deva (Another celestial race), named Gin and Qin would only haunt it in a ghostly form never having full control or presence.

The Deva (Named Gin by Quinath Nar) would be haunted by Qin for a time until the Deva set out to end his life from the unnatural summoning. Ironically the Deva never felt like he belonged because of the nature of his rebirth. With Gin ending this life to start another, Qin was sent back to the Fugue Plane.

Qin begged with Myrkul to return to the surface, with Myrkul sensing the Long Death Aura from his training agreed to send him back. Upon sending him he did so on one condition, he would return as the Tiefling he once was. This would be because Qin would most likely encounter friction, which would most likely cause a fight leading to further deaths.

Life after Gin
========
When Qin returned to the surface he didn’t remember much of the events before him, but he heard the voice of Gin, telling him to endure the suffering he had bared, and to help others endure the same suffering he had gone through, this naturally lead to the events of Qin following Ilmater, and aided him in becoming a sacred fist

Being in the Order of the Balanced Hand, Qins intentions are Lawfully Good but his Demonic heritage still shroud him in Darkness and Evil. This makes him a Good but Evil person in a funny roundabout way, and his life constantly hangs in the balance…
