First Name: Kasmir
Last Name: deMontFalcon
Appearance:
This tall, strikingly handsome, lightly tanned man has dark, neatly cropped hair and beard and hazel eyes. His armour is polished to a mirror-like shine and a large ornate sword hangs at his waist, its pommel fashioned into the shape of a falcon holding a spear. He wears a large cloak which appears to be made from black feathers, clasped at the front with a brooch depicting a raven. When he speaks, his voice is deeply sonorous, with a hint of an exotic accent. He tends to walk about with his head held aloft, as if he owns wherever he happens to be.
Race: Aasimar
Age: 44
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 190 lbs
Eyes: Hazel
Hair: Neatly cropped, black
Facial Hair Style: Neatly cropped black beard and moustache
Personality Profile:
Kasmir believes he was born to lead. Raised in a life of privilege coupled with hard military training, he has a noble bearing bordering on the arrogant and snobbish, and does not suffer fools and weakness gladly. He sees life as one long personal challenge in order to improve his skills and better himself. Every obstacle is an opportunity to go 'above and beyond' and test his 'mettle' against all the world would throw at him. Unfortunately he has had plenty of opportunity to test this already and more is likely on its way...(see background below). His rather unfortunate experiences have tempered his intolerances somewhat as he has grown older. However, he can still be dogmatic and single minded when it comes to loyalty, discipline and vengeance against those who wronged his family. In contrast, his most trusted compatriots, especially family (those that remain) and his own Raven mercenary Company are seen as the closest of allies to be helped, challenged and supported in whatever way necessary to improve their lot. Loyalty to the cause above all. He cares about all his Ravens deeply but expresses this in different ways dependent on their own personalities. He has a deferential attitude towards women that may be seen as charming, or patronizing depending on the recipient.
General Health: Robust
Deity: Not a devout worshipper but openly venerates Helm and (more secretly) Hoar (vengeance)
Initial Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Profession: Captain of The Ravens mercenary Company
Base Class & Proposed Development:
Pure man at arms, High STR, High CHA
Habits/Hobbies:
He is rather concerned with appearance and expects all of his Ravens to dress to impress, whether in the field of battle or at a social function.
He will often challenge foes to personal combat with him.
Languages: Common, elven, dwarven
Weapon of Choice: He uses a variety of weaponry. His ancestral sword seems to be for show only and stays at his side.
Background:
Kasmir was born the heir to deMontFalcon Castle, the ancestral seat of his family and a small independent fortress town in it's own right, situated SE of the Anauroch desert and North of Cormyr. The deMontFalcons had ruled this place for generations, and had thrived well enough despite the harsh landscape by taking a commercial interest in the trade routes through the desert. The celestial blood line of the family also stretched back several generations, its origins unclear, but the family tended to use this as part of their 'right to rule' attitude. He enjoyed a life of privilege and the best military training until his 21st birthday when, returning from a patrol, he saw a pall of black smoke rising from where his home should be. Riding back as fast as he could with his small troupe, he returned to find the entire fortress razed to the ground, and all of his family that had been at home slain. It was clear to him who had carried out this heinous crime and he swore an oath on his life that he would not rest until he had found the perpetrators and disposed of them. Riding South, he settled in Cormyr for a time and started his own band of mercenaries, The Ravens, dedicated to ultimately finding the killers whilst building their own power base and reputation. Unfortunately the enemy hunted him down first and killed most of The Ravens there. Now in Baldur's Gate he seeks to rebuild The Ravens and once more seek the ultimate justice he craves.
Goals:
(i) To improve the standing, reputation and power of the Ravens, in particular by taking on challenging missions that local forces are unable or unwilling to undertake.
(ii) To uphold The Ravens' code (see Ravens)
(iii) To seek out, thwart, arrest, destroy and otherwise bring down the target organisation at every opportunity.
N.B Target organisation is known to DMs and only Kasmir's most trusted colleagues and allies. Their spies are everywhere...!
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
(a) Any mission for money sanctioned by the local authorities, especially if the mission is of a challenging nature that the local authorities can't solve or don't want to 'soil their hands with'.
(b) Any opportunity to thwart the operations of the target organisation
