Phisical Appearance.
Eyes: No pupils, faint golden glow.
Hair: Gray/White
Height: 1.90m
Skin: Faintly gold
Build: Fit / Trained for combat

Personality.
Arael is a disciplined and composed man, he treats anyone with respect, even his enemies. He tries to embody the dogma of Duty and Self Sacrifice taught by Torm to the best of his possibilities. His optimistic view makes him tolerant and compassionate, he believes that the path to redemption is not too far for anyone, or almost. It is extremely rare for him to fall victim of emotions such as rage, although some individuals might be able to bring him into such a state of mind, usually people so evil and loathsome to make his optimism shatter into fury and desire of retribution.

"From this day I will be your Guardian, I will watch over you, your sons and daughters.
You are a brave and kind soul, blessed will be your progeny.
May they walk the path of the Righteous, teach them in my stead."

Eshreal saved her beloved from certain death, but at what cost?
She could have saved many more, but she chose love instead of duty.

"You are not worthy."

She felt the voice of her father in her mind, she failed.
The honor of the Ritual of Feathers would never grace her soul.
But she could not be sad, the love her life was alive.

The couple promised to raise their son with pride.
He would have been raised with a gentle heart.
He would have made his own choice.

Arael was raised as the family tradition demanded.
Descendant of a Solar Angel, trained to be an exemplar of bravery and righteousness.
But instead of his mother he would have known that it was not required of him to put duty above everything else.

Eshreal was worried, the celestial blood was not taking form in Arael as it did within her.
The boy did not grow any wings, or other supernatural powers that she had.
She was worried that her own son would have not be worthy regardless of his conduct.

But she kept this doubt for herself, letting him train and grow with a clean mind.
The good side of it was that the boy clearly maintained the state of mind and drive of a celestial planetouched.
He genuinely embraced the Dogma of the Loyal Fury, despite his young age.

"Arael, there will be a time when the Dogma will seem unclear to you. At that point you will have to make a choice, be one with The Loyal Fury sacrificing everything else, or enjoy the gifts of a normal life." Eshreal said.

It took some time for the boy to understand the real meaning of those words.
He spent his early life with his family in the outskirts of Arabel.
Training and learning from his half-celestial mother.

The kind heart of his father.
The prowess and drive of his mother.
Arael's growth was promising.

But, even if Eshreal chose to be a mother, there were threats she could not ignore.
She had to find her sword again, and depart.
Her husband knew that this day would come, and accepted it.

What of young Arael?

"Do you feel the fire within you, my son? Don't you feel the fire when you see injustice and you know you can stop it? I know that you feel it.
We need to keep control of this fire, but there are times when the fire is the only solution.
We are blessed by these powers and we have to be ready to use them.
No matter what will happen to me, you will carry this fire and strive to be worthy, you choose what you want to be worthy of.
Farewell my son."

Eshreal brought her son's forehead closer, and gave him one last kiss.
That was the last day they saw her smile.
Died in battle, died for duty.

At that point Harlon, his father chose to tell him the truth about his birth.
Hoping that would have been a way to let his son see a new path in his life.

"Your mother chose to love me, and have you, sacrificing the honor of being a true exemplar of the Tormtars.
That's the choice she made, you are here because of that choice.
She choice my life and her love before those of others and her Holy Duty.
This is the kind of life that expects you, if you just keep walking in that direction.
You might be facing choices that could scar you forever, like it happened to your mother.
I know that she never truly forgave herself.
You don't have to be like that, just because of your blood.
Do you understand me?"

Arael spent a long time considering those words.
But he kept training, like his mother taught him.
Combat, divine magic, theology.

He started to see himself as the living second chance for her mother to reach her goal.

Then one day he found it, the tome mentioning the Ritual of Feathers.
Intrigued by the book he showed it to his father asking for an explanation.
The man's expression saddened, he showed his son a small box.

Inside the box a bright white feather, laying on a layer of blue velvet.

"To perform the Ritual of Feathers you need two things.
An Angel's feather, and his or her blessing.
That is what your mother was striving to be worthy of.
And this... is your grandfather's feather."

Arael was confused, how could his mother have failed to gain the blessing?
She has always been worthy in his eyes.
How could have been any different for him?

He felt overwhelmed, for a moment he thought that it was too much. But the fire, the fire within him, the celestial fire... it gave him strenght.

He chose to make this his own personal mission.
He took the feather and explained to his father that he would have become a wandering cleric.
He would have followed the Dogma while striving to be worthy.

Harlon experienced the day his wife departed, again, seeing his son so determined he knew that he could not oppose to that fire.

Father and son embraced one another, this time he hoped, wouldn't have been the last.

The moment Arael walked through the door, he could hear it.
Just for a single moment.
The voice of his grandfather.

"Make us proud."

One tear of joy on his face.

COMPANIONS

Image
Taneen was the first creature to answer Arael's prayer of Summoning.
The young lion has been Arael's guardian since he was a boy, now the two are companions in battle. Despite the fact that Arael summons it through prayer and divine intervetion the two have grown a deep bond of friendship, due to this Arael has never attempted to summon anything different using that prayer. Taneen would fight any battle alongside his friend Arael.
