Word is dispatched by messenger from The Broken Goblet and soon after a longboat arrives with five passengers who make their way to the tavern. Inside they meet their quartermaster who takes them to the private areas and sets them on guard. If a door opens, they question the person and no one is allowed to see the captive without permission of Captain Karn.

Those that would frequent Roaringshore docks and the Broken Goblet would see a water genasi bedecked as one that has just walked out of the ocean, glide her way up the cliff path to the Tavern.
Those inside would see her approach a Ruathen Captain (renowned in these parts) and discuss matters personal to them.
As she leaves, tavern onlookers would see her divert her current towards a different table in the corner with a pair of regular patrons. She'd grab one behind the head and smash his face into the table, before calmly walking out of the tavern.

A woman in deep blue coat with raven hair, muttering about the cold, is spied with a man in gray, posting the following notice outside the Swordarm Inn

THE MAGIC DECK OF MANY TRICKS

*A sketch of The Imp and The Lord of Gold playing cards from the deck of Ric Yhondbe are rendered under the title of the notice*

Greetings and salutations! If you, anyone you know, has knowledge or possession of cards such as those rendered above, I implore you to contact my person at Candlekeep. I, Maurmeril Jvianin, Seeker, am leading a research project with the intent to record and preserve the knowledge of these cards and their use. With this in mind, I encourage any and all that have information to visit Candlekeep and exchange knowledge for knowledge – for donations of tomes containing knowledge – including allowing my person to copy said tome – and for donations of unique, individual cards – or allotting me time to sketch and study them – I will share what knowledge my research has provided thus far.

Please make note to exercise caution! These cards are known to disappear from perceived use, plays, and other actions with them. I recommend that you – or those you know – wrap the cards individually in cloth and refrain from handling them as playing cards. Tomes should be kept from the elements as much as possible, and preserved in their original state. I hope these words help preserve your find!

Fair Winds and Following Skies,

A formal statement officializing Jys'Ssysynstra Sshamath's release is issued forth by the burly captain of the Hellstorm crew. It follows the format of a wartime prisoner ransom manifest, but states neither the name of purchaser nor the sum paid by them. Adding to the list of irregularities, Karn appears to have signed this High Captain, turning quite a few heads in Roaringshore.

If asked about his decision to release the drow, he states that Amn and the surface realm at large is at war with the duskhides. Jys'Ssysynstra as a noble, had a right to be ransomed and that it's his privilege as her captor and amnian privateer to officiate this exchange. If questioned about signing the document High Captain, he offers a simple grin in way of explanation.

On the docks of Roaringshores arrive longboat after longboat of crewmen, sailors of The Seawolf. The sudden appearance of so many men on the wax of a well known hostage ransom is near unknown. If asked on when the last time someone made at least a million coin on one transfer, many old timers might fall silent in contemplation.

In The Broken Goblet and for those seeking more private residence in The Sword Arm inn with their gold, the name, once less spoken of late now rises again and again.

"Hellstorm! Hellstorm! Hellstorm!"

Among them is a large boisterous figure in The Goblet, their quartermaster with his rough voice often leading in harmony as the great songs are recited. His tankard filled with mead, the coins that come from his purse seem uncanny. Of many countries and denomination they are given again and again to buy the whole house drinks with little regard to those asking to whom.

"Hellstorm bless you and Umberlee bless you" he says whilst keeping his eye on his men. Beyond a fistfight he intervenes and has one or even both men restrained despite their allegiance. Each man is reprimanded and sent on their own way, those of the Seawolf to her, the others in trust of their own.

Those he knows he sends back to their captains with his name, Ang, Quartermaster of The Seawolf. If they have quarter then they should bring it and in a days time, because his time is short and worth coin.

"They are or they aren' an' oughta take such in consideration. No excuses."

The Hellstorm Crew get three days leave after which wagons arrive. Drowned in drink are those that find their way aboard them. Inn rooms doors are opened and groggy sailors are dragged from beds with the odd one now and then not even having ever been aboard The Seawolf, perhaps to be released later.
Perhaps.
In the hours of what amounts to be a general cleaning up of the streets and businesses of Roaringshore, several copies of a flyer are left in the wake.

Ang Smythe the Quartermaster of The Seawolf rides the good fortune of the Hellstorm crew as do the underlings. Coins are laid out on the bar of The Broken Goblet in celebration of the recent ransoming, drinks on the house for everyone in attendance not recently seen.
To those men he finds of fellow ships his words are sharp. He speaks of independence, of no more being a victim of Amn and Baldurs Gate in their yearly raids. "Seventy or one hundred men will not stand if we say. Gods willing we cleave them crown to collar."
The Quartermaster incites insurrection further stating dates of attack. "When they come, kill the horses to begin and gut them after. Give no quarter and ask none as that is their offer."

Pike them.

Unknown and shady characters pass through often, and so perhaps a dark-clad woman in a full mask and cloak is ignored as she walks through town and hops on a caravan. The only hint of who she is are the broken shimmer of sapphire eyes and auburn eyebrows.

Whoever she is, she does not look to be easy prey. A wicked wintermoon bow strapped upon her back with a heavy shield, and a long sword of fine green steel on her hip.

An altercation took place around the crowded marketplace overlooking Roaringshore bay, between High Captain Jordan Reynolds and the self-styled High Captain Karn after a member of the latter's crew reportedly slew two of Reynold's men during a bar fight. Accounts of the event vary and though a drunken rogue's word should never be taken at face value, most seem to agree that the female Hellstorm sailor was in the wrong and did not act in self defense as she later claimed.

A blood price for the lives of the two men was demanded of the Seawolf's captain. A demand which he made sure as many bystanders as possible witnessed him laugh off. According to rumor, Karn called Reynolds a failure, advising him to refit his tub of a ship as a cargo liner and to sail away on the Chionthar with whatever dignity he had left. Onlookers report that the two captains then postured with hands on the hilts of their blades and although further bloodshed seemed unavoidable Reynolds, to the surprise of some, departed the scene alongside his entourage. Vowing to see the Hellstorm name wiped from Roaringshore's history.

The alleged murderer of two was last seen heading back to the Seawolf in the company of the ship's captain, quartermaster, rigger and mage. Whether Reynolds decides to make good on his threat or not remains to be seen. One thing is certain, however; in a place like Roaringshore where reputation is everything, a pirate captain would do well not to leave such challenges to his fitness unanswered for long. Lest he finds himself torn apart by the cutthroat rabble he leads.

With Reynolds' embargo still underway and the stalemate between the two crews looking nowhere close to abating, reports of sewn hammocks being unceremoniously disposed off into the sea by Hellstorm sailors begin to reach Roaringshore bay. Whether wracked by disease or famine, the dogged corsairs are showing no intentions of relinquishing their advantageous position in the harbor any time soon.

One of the sewn hammocks seems to wiggle and worm caught on the rocks, before it slits open with a blade from the inside. A soaked figure pulling into's self from the soaked fabric cocoon spitting up salt water and blood.

Thick strands of black hair hung as it rolled over to it's hands and knees dagger in hand before coughing again pulling the hair away a pink glowing eye set to the distant docked ship lip pulled and teeth barred. picking herself up the tiefling coughed again in agony the cause a angry ring of black and purple bruises the ring around her neck.

A course whisper of breath escapes in pain clearly .Before limping into the distance soaked in water the linger scent of the water a cloak around her, the night hiding the figure as it seemly fades into shadow with a smoke drifting around it.

In the dead of night lights are seen out on a ship. A large wail is heard of pain and anguish, with a bright flash following shortly after. As the bone chilling scream subsides, hysterical laughter of a single female voice is heard that may send fear into some peoples hearts. Whatever happened, it may not of been intentional but the subject found great amusement in the anguish and suffering she felt, whoever it was is obviously a demented and evil woman.
