Rain slobbed down over the seas near Roaringshore on the 18th of Ches. As thunder rolled across the malevolent sky another pirate ship rode the busy waves to set anchor in the docks there.

Image

Onlookers were sure the ship was going to crash straight into one of the other ships, however most vessels managed to escape damage except for a rough dent to a ship half the poorly steered ships size.

The captain, furious at his now damaged ship, gripped his sword with only three fingers and his thumb. He had one empty eye socket and a lopsided grimace. His nose was as beaky as the parrot that sat on his broad shoulders and he stared at the ship with eyes as cold as the sea, as he was seen swinging his rapier around in loud protest on the way to the tall ship that finally had lowered its anchor. Onlookers gathered to watch from below. It is said two figures lowered the bridge and let the captain on without protest, but then went on their way into Roaringshore. One with a curious limp, the other with a dark green cowl over his head.

Rumor across Roaringshore has it the captain found a ship full of its crew, all of which were disoriented and ill. He found the ships captain sloped over his desk in his office and very dead, his flesh already in a state of unnaturally rapid decay. Several pirates were feverish, some had been overcome by severe bouts of shaking, and below deck the engineers were found wretching and gripped by an intense pain, their eyes having turned milky white. It was said there were no rhyme or rythm to the state of the crew, except every single one being in a trance - unable to speak or hear.

Additionally, the captain found an uncorked bottle that had been conspicuously left out in the open. It had three teardrops in a triangle painted onto it. Most onlookers got a glimpse of it at least. Different accounts spread across Roaringshore, all recollected with just another crooked detail the next didn't recall. Some claim the ship to have been cursed, others say foul play were at hand.

Not many days into Mirtul, a woman and her half elven companion make their way into the Broken Goblet; her in the bloom of youthful adulthood and him indeterminate, but obviously the elder of the pair. Both stride with the languid ease of folks born to walk the boards, though from what port they sailed from no one knows. A hint can be found in the woman's voice, laced as it was with a melange of Inner Sea accents; and in the duskier skin of her companion. He seems content to let her do the talking, occasionally gesturing in a manner the woman apparently and readily understands.

Neither stand-offish, nor intrusive, the pair will take a table and settle into their cups. From a tattered sea bag, the woman will draw what appears to be a costly bottle of cognac and set it in the center of the table, while her companion pulls out a simple fife. Soon enough, a pretty voice lends itself to bawdy lyrics, while accompanied by well known, and lively notes- played quietly for themselves, unless they receive encouragement from other tavern-goers.

If any inquire about the bottle, the woman will readily explain: "You don't call on another's home unannounced, and be empty handed. That's for the Free Man or Woman that leads this rowdy lot, whether they choose to savor alone or maybe while humorin' a pair of lost gulls with an audience." If any of the regular patrons seem to want to play that role, the woman will offer an affable, chiding smile that never quite reaches her eyes while her companion glowers. "Don't think it, mate- it's bad luck that befalls a man who takes another man's libations, and I know a captain when I meet one." There's never a change in friendly tone, but whoever tried would feel, perhaps, a sudden chill climbing down their spine.

A man calls upon the Wavelord who services the shine to the Bitch Queen at Roaringshore. The conversation is heard by enough of the population to carry rumor of the interaction. It would seem the visitor enticed the Priest of Umberlee to summon Her Waveservants, those of unyielding faith to Her domains, to present themselves to the aligned Faiths of Fury, and the visitor himself, who spoke of his return to the Shores within a Tenday.

Though it's been rather quiet Hellstorm, the crew keeping to their ship more often than not, stir once again. Standing captain Mori, or Blue roams about on ship or inland keeping to herself having enough on her mind. On her way back Captain pike managed to wave her over at the broken goblet letting her know of any notable visitors. Before a man was motioned at the bar, a brutish looking man with features of some draconic metal limbs and faceguard. She had a few words with him about his interest in joining the crew, Mori looking him up and down like those before her and those after her allowed him into a trial time with her and her crew to make a name for himself and show them what he has. Mori will be watching- in time he may just have what it takes to join the crew and if he''s worth the effort. The moon elf returned to the seawolf stationed at the docks waiting and watching the shore activity, such as the gatherings of the north near the broken goblet every once in a while.

Captain Wysalrth enjoying a few drinks at the broken goblet noticed as she predicted a Blackrose at the counter talking to pike. Who mentioned her location behind him, Mori expected them to be there so she wasn't surprised when they finally showed up, and for exactly the reason she knew. Motioning him to follow her to the back rooms where he made his case and the captain made hers. Words were traded, where they stood made very clear with the movements and gatherings around the Roaring shore that the captain mention doesn't go unnoticed. Closing remarks were made in a possible deal between the two factions before the captain departs back to the seawolf.

Mori wandered about taking note of the posting, reading the details, putting little thought into it. Heading to the broken goblet she put thought into it over a few drinks, listening to the bar around her, drunken rabble. Fishing so many drinks feeling a bit of a fuzzy thought of the poster again wandering by it a bit of a tip. She heads back to the sea wolf to recover mentioning the poster to the men and women seeing if they were at all interested. Many weren't she thought to discard it, but she was curious. Perhaps she might find a little entertainment, perhaps she would have to talk to Pyke about the brawls. Soon after the man in though meet her at the goblet once again where they had a conversation with the returning black rose and a Zheng, not happy to the helmed figure at all. A deal was shakily made and the pair walked out unharmed.

Cinnamon has been seen requesting the services of a Talona Follower, Mykrul Follower or Jergalite, if they should step forward, Cinnamon can be found at Candlekeep over the next Tensday, and urges you to come with haste, and will pay your appropriate fees, from one Cleric to another.

She spreads this around Roaringshore in hopes, that a ship may just have such a follower, no matter how unusual

A poster was placed up as a recruitment drive to gain interest in able pirates and the likes.
Looking for potential candidates whom might have the experience or potential to be sea worthy.

Leave a note addressed to The Sword Arm room 4, if interested. With your name and where I might be able to contact you further
The poster is in fact left unsigned for the time being.
After years of trying to give others a chance to prove to me they can shape up here, I have run out of patience. The numbers of nwn2 overall dropping in the past few years have told me the path others truly want to take. Actions speak louder than words.

It's not worth the investment.

An unconscious, masked woman is unloaded from the caravan from Soubar, and brought into the Sword Arm by a masked man. Both clad in black, one of them had been seen in Roaringshore several times recently, taking visits from an assortment of strangers, though the other hadn't been seen before in the pirate den at all.

There was no obvious indication of why the woman was unconscious, but her companion seemed to take good care of her during the trip to the Sword Arm. If asked, the caravan master might have remembered them coming out of a large tent in Soubar after a bright flash of light occurred within; she had already been unconscious when he first saw her.
