News of tournaments, strange petals floating down river, and a rare excursion by the Siren's Song, thought by many previously to be unseaworthy did not escape Shalukhe Silverhand, once of the Moonshae. But these things did not preoccupy the self professed puzzle solver. No she had bigger stew to share. A chef had gone missing and rabbit stew was off the menu. She was spotted calling on one Sergeant Peters of the Flaming Fist who has been put in charge of the investigation.

DM All Father wrote: Mon Jul 26, 2021 6:58 pm A quiet night in the city was witness to a titanic battle. As night fell, it's embrace reached out coldly for the temple of Ilmater, lead by a evil that entered the city silently and approached the peaceful temple. There was no warning, the enemy never before being seen or his existence known, he stalked forward towards his goal only to be stopped by a single maimed knight.

Image

Darkness fell upon the quiet corner, no alarm being raised. The patrolling guard even avoiding the area out of the rising dread, although he refused to give voice to the feeling. The two came together and a shield was raised in defense of the temple as the darkness attacked. The walls along the street smoldered, the stones of the street cracked and gave way under the assault. Yet the shield did not yield and the attack could no progress against the temple, his armor smoldering, dents and rents appeared in the steel, his sword quaked as if caught in a gale. . .yet the shield did not turn aside. In the end it was a game of swords and the protector was launched against the wall of the temple after the briefest of exchanges. The darkness returned again, only to be stopped again by a unarmed servant of Torm.
As this second defender, the street was changed suddenly. . .Father Marcus and Templar Khalso 'appeared', one guarding the door and the other beside the now standing knight.

The enemy advanced again, assured in his power. Only to find his match against a silver sword. The combatants fought across and down the length of the street, blows landing with the sound of thunder and the impacts further damaging the street and surrounding buildings. Silver crashed against Greensteel, righteous wrath against vile greed, but in this class celestia's champion would not be denied. No defense held ground against him, no sword was more then a vain defense, armor parted like flesh, evil prowess were empty threats, until he was brought down to the feet of his foe.

""By the grace of the Holy Triad. The justice of the Maimed God, the Sacrifice of the Broken, and the Loyalty of the Fury. Chosen of the Lord of Murder, your time has come."" A spoken phrase that carried the weight of judgement and a descending blade.

"Behold, Ser Alexander Holgart, The Even Handed." Was the only remark made by Father Marcus, before he vanished as quickly as he appeared.
The sun rose scarlet, sadly dimissing the shadows around the Temple of Ilmater. As the quiet Sister returns from the Orphanage, she kneels upon the bloodstained alley. Her knees brush the cold stones, while she cares the pray for the fallen. No matter who they were, no matter what they did, she seems to mourn them all with the same affection they might have been lacking. She often whispers, repeating that she is sorry or that she wished for another path, another outcome. Once the sun is high in the Morning, she is seen cleaning the paved street. Her endeavors are ceaseless, only to be continued in the infirmary to tend the wounded.

As part of her etiquette training, the rambunctious elf maiden many know as Jordan, would receive a list of naughty words from Lady Netanya that she is to cease uttering in polite (or even impolite) company. The list would included the following words:

A Flyer from the Temple of Torm

Unread post by Alexander Holgart »

=Looking for Adventurers=
The following flyer can be seen on the bulletin board in Baldur's Gate, bearing a Tormtar symbol.
Looking for Adventurers

I am looking for adventurers to join me in regular expeditions in the region around Baldur's Gate.

Orcs, giants, undead... uncountable threats surround us, and the fight to keep such threats at bay knows no end.

I seek to venture into caves, keeps and dens where such threats grow, but I cannot do it on my own.

I am looking for adventurers, guardians, warriors, arcanists and clerics.

All who desire to fight such threats shall be welcome.

Our expeditions will start moving from the Eastern Gate.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye!

Let it be known that the Midsummer Faire sponsored by the Tymora Church came to a close with a small tournament in the Northern Farmlands officiated by the Bladestone Foundation. The three participants were:

Doan Mardain, a good dwarf to have in a pinch
Hans Pebbleskip, the irrepressible dancing dwarf
Bael'thar, who's got a really big sword

The double elimination tournament ended with Doan taking first place, followed by Bael, and then Hans. This is not to say, however, that it was an easy win or placement for any of them Many of the matches were close, some razor-thin close, much to the delight of spectators.

All participants showed good manners, good attitudes, honorable actions, and great skill. Doan was awarded 50,000 coin from the Tymora Church for first place.
Bael received a purse of 25,000 from the Bladestone Foundation, and Hans received 10,000 from the Bladestone.

All Hail the valiant fighters!

An odd, lanky elf can be seen wandering about to various offices in and around the palace district. It would seem he's rather fixated on more recent property purchases made in and around the city in the past several months. It's hard to say what he's after exactly, but whatever it is, he seems pretty determined to find it.

A peculiar duo wandered into the Eastern Farmlands today: A redheaded human girl, and a grey-skinned blonde tiefling with large horns and dark mithral armor. The tiefling seemed to struggle in the daylight, and had to be led half-blind into the Blade and Stars inn by her companion.

The whole time, they both seemed thoroughly out of their element, with the human remaining in constant awe and good spirits until they retired to a room at the inn.

The whole time, they both seemed thoroughly out of their element, with the human remaining in constant awe and good spirits until they retired to a room at the inn.
Chaos ensued yesterday, when a member of the City Watch attempted to arrest the tiefling - no longer in her armor - for displaying an axe just short of Wyrm's Crossing. Before their arrest, the redhead tried to talk her friend down, only to find herself caught in a three-way brawl as she struggled to make sure no one got hurt.

The duo appeared to have been released some time afterwards, with the tiefling's personality becoming noticeably more restrained, cautious, and even submissive at times. Visitors to the Ilmatari temple might have subsequently overheard them talking to an assortment of knights, priests, and monks of Candlekeep about split personalities, memory loss, and wandering out of the Underdark with no idea where they were anymore. A peculiar story, indeed.

After leaving the temple, the tiefling inquired around the Farmlands for the location of a brothel, justifying it to the flustered redhead with a remark about their having the best baths. However, after a brief negotiation with Blunt, the duo instead wandered east along the Chionthar. When they returned much later in the day, they did so in a staggered, uncoordinated manner, with their hair still waterlogged after whatever adventures they embarked upon. Given that their clothes were nowhere near as wet as they were, one could surmise that the strange newcomers were somehow able to take care of their bathing problem at some point during their travels.

The human returned to the city first; when the tiefling came back, she was accompanied by a second tiefling, a reddish-hued man in fancier - and drier - clothing. Ultimately, both women eventually returned to their room at the Blade and Stars.

The Halls of Inner Light Presents:
A Litany on the Dogma of Lady Firehair

I, Heartwarder Alyssia Leonhart, High Lady of the Halls of Inner Light, invite those of curious minds and wandering hearts of the Gate and the Sword Coast to come to a educational litany on the Dogma of the Princess of Passion. It will be a deep dive into the faith and duties of Sunites, what Lady Firehair asks of us, and what we can provide to the city though our faith and dedication to Lady Firehair. All those welcome within the city may come to the Halls of Inner Light Prayer Hall and become educated on the finer points of the Sunite Faith. It will be held on the 21st of Eleasis, 1357 in the afternoon.

Afterwords, food and drink will be served in the Heartfire Tavern and questions about the service will be fielded to answer any questions about the faith.

I look forward to seeing you there,

Activity at the Radiant Heart Charterhouse

Unread post by mastajabba »

At the Radiant House charter house an Emerald Scout could be seen making his way in the Side Gate nodding to the Paladin on Watch at the courtyard. He carried with him several field sketched maps in their perspective map cases.

The forge’s smokestack was bellowing out a steady dark grey plumes or smoke from the preparations to weapons, equipment and support equipments. In the horse pen a Squire tended to the horseshoes of the warhorses and the pack horses. In the courtyard several field tents had been set up to air out and to make sure they where in good working conditions.

He made his way into the keep and headed bellow to speak with the Blacksmith putting an order for a few crates of razor tipped broad-heads for his arrows.
