Green Enclave Role-Play

Unread post by Celduil »

//This thread is for anyone to use, be they Elder Circle members, Guests, or those with interactions with the Elder Circle. It's about time we had one.

Every day since planting the seeds with Nai'Kabael within the Sharpteeth Wood, each morning Celduil comes out to water the aspiring trees, while simultaniously making sure nothing has disturbed them. He spends a great amount of time watching over them before moving on to do his other duties.

*talon stops up and looks around, he concentates and the pure fire on his blade stops, he sheats the weapen, in a swoping motion like he has don a 100 times before and looks on the dead bodyes on the floor, he then silently leaves the cave and wonder where he wil strike nekst to keep the balance of nature and the hords of gnolls, orks and other beast at bay*

Teuvaelivae wandered in circles along the harmonious streaming rill of the grove. The peace and tranqility had bore into her very spirit when she first arrived. Is this a peice of quiescence one might find in Arvandor? She had thought, and embraced the serenity. Although it should not last. Now like a ghost slowly animating from the void, her restless nature had return to life. The orcs the accuresed orcs! Even the memory of Malandriel was blotted by their detestable presence. She thought before she sighed darkly as she looked to the foilage of the eminent trees. There is no use in persisting the weaving of plans either, without an army it would be as a game of chess with a single pawn versus a full board of the opponent. She thought before she spoke in the faintest tone to herself. - It matter not, I shalt not waver in my vow to thee.

Haggatha is seen tromping through the woods in sharp teeth while dragging what looks like a split tree that is missing its natural insides. Instead of wood, it appears that it is filled with ancient compost thriving with life. The bark curved around it much like a boat is enormous and she knocks it over with her foot which is in the form of a root and calls forth a powerful gale of wind and scatters the compost over the areas of land that need healing nutrition the most. She sees the others and creaks. Looking up she speaks.

Too bad we cannot just posses the orcs and force them to clean up their mess. . .

The Sharpteeth. Heavy rain pours down through the canopy and onto the muddy clearing. Three hooded figures, drenched and soaked, stand to the side watching a fourth perform his dance on the wet grounds. Every swing and thrust of his blade seeming to slice through the raindrops themselves, sounds of exertion drowned out by the torrential rain. From the side, the druid Calen summons forth yet another elemental, sending it towards the battered and bruised warrior.

Just moments ago he'd bested another summon from the druid, but he had no time to celebrate, for yet another was coming his way. Talon had given his all, his blood mixed with the rain, doing his best to keep a firm grip on his blade. He accepted the challenge, and with steely eyes of determination, he met that challenge...

Calen dismissed the elemental, as he walked over to where Talon lay unconscious and beaten, tending to his injuries and letting the rain wash away the pain. Having been witnesses from the side, Lambe and Celduil turn to each other, giving each other a nod of approval. Only one word carried through the rain.
"Impressive."

He sat unmoving behind a pile of boulders, cold wind blowing snow onto his stubbly face. It had been almost a day, yet no sign of his quarries. The chill up in the Cloudpeaks stabbing him little by little as time went by. He wonders if they'll make their way back along that trail...he wonders if they'll even return at all. Lambe clutches his sore arms, reminding himself that he's prepared this time, he'll not be caught off-guard.

Even at such extreme places, at such high altitudes, trouble seemed to find its way...or was it he who finds the trouble? He remembered a warmer, calmer morning as he was making his way down the mounts, when a powerful vampire had come rushing towards him. If that wasn't enough, a mage in troll-form joined the fray, in defense of his minion...and how can he forget the quiet masked woman who came at him with both daggers in a blinding flurry.

The battle had gone on for a while, until the mage cast a powerful spell on him, crushing the breath out of him, holding him in place...but not before he'd gone into hiding. He pauses in his thoughts, his sigh causing the air before him to cloud up as he quietly thanks his luck. Luck, for his three opponents had given up searching for him, as he lay there immobile and slowly being crushed by the accursed hand.

His body still aches as he waits. The snow had fallen quickly, covering what tracks he could work with, he'd been held by the spell for too long. He hopes to catch them on their way back, but his hopes of them making their way back through there was fading. Even with little exertion on his part, the cold still managed to sap the energy out of him, he'd been there for too long. He's feeling sleepy...will he remember their faces and features when he comes to? In any case, he was no longer in condition to be fighting. And so he makes his way back down to the foothills, this time sticking to the trees and shadows...for who knows what trouble he'll come across next...

Rumor has it that a General of the Flaming Fist has escaped the clutches of the Orc invadors deep within the Sharpteeth Woods. His regiment of soldiers lost. it is said a band of elves and mercenaries rescued the general from certain doom and headed south towards the fabled reufge of the elves.

Next! A Brilliant beacon of light flashes in the night sky over the woods, brightening the entire landscape from the darkness for only mere seconds!.

Soon after, fires erupt in the woodlands south near the refuge home of the elves. Red Eyes glow menacingly in the darkness as siege weapons rip through the ouskirts of the elven encampments.

The war has begun....
Celduil rushes hither-thither, dealing with the raging fire. Whoever else from the Grove is helping him. Shouting out orders for the others to not engage the orcs, he goes off through the woods to find Archdruid Syclya.

The orcess, having come into the woods at word of the bright light, happens to catch Celduil's shouts. She frowns to herself, surprised at what she hears. Then, with decision she joins in smothering the flames with her favorite element, earth - plowing furrows to stop the spread of fire and summoning great elementals to assist in tearing down flaming trees and pushing them into a corralled mass - trying prevent the spread of what could easily become a wild fire.

"Get Grubnar." She growls to her patron beast. "We'll need his help."

Celduil watches from the bough of a tree as a group of orcs haul stone to complete their bridge across the river. The elf is more troubled than ever, unable to find hide nor hair of the Archdruid, or any of the other members of the Elder Circle. He watches as his beloved forest burns, and watches as the siege weapons are set up as close to Doron Amar as possible...

While the fires start engulfing the forest, a flock of doves comes to Celduil's side, one of them slowly shifting its form in an elven druidess far too familiar to the High Ranger. As she looks around the burning woods, a spark of hatred slowly starts to ignite in her golden eyes.

"I see they have started the destruction. Beasts, all of them."

Using the powers at her disposal, she summons a rain shower to help quench the flames, and air elementals to blow them away.

"This should be enough, at least for now. I'm glad that I managed to return in time."

In the far distance Elm could see bulging dark clouds pregnant with life giving water circling the very tops of Candlekeep high on the promontory. The wind blowing inland up the escarpment of the keep was laden with the tang of salt air and the smells from the sea. A lightning strike struck a crag far off to his right heralding its birth with a downpour. Elm could feel the loamy earth slowly turn to slick mud under his claw tipped paws and feel the water matting and soaking his thick fur. He glared down at the Bombarder Beetle he had just slain and nuzzled it with his maw to insure it was dead. Long deep clawed gashes and fang puncture marks riddled its corpse causing its life blood to seep onto the ground. He vigorously shook off the excess water from his furred coat and padded off the roadway deeper into the woods with Acorn his trusted bear companion at his side.

Elm had only just arrived in the Sword Coast region just a short two weeks back and already was feeling confident in patrolling the forests between Candlekeep to Beregost and Baldur's Gate. He felt elated in having found the Shrine to Silvanus and an ancient Druid’s Circle not far from Candlekeep. He had made it a duty of his to visit them daily to help maintain them and keep the area free of bandits and vermin. In the woods outside of Beregost he had battled Goblins which were tough and each fight brought him close to his end. However, the grasping thorn covered vines in the area and Acorn often seemed to tip the scales in his balance. Elm still found the Woods of Sharp Teeth and the Cloak Woods a little to daunting to attempt to enter them to far but one day soon.

Elm thought on his chance meeting with Lambe and Celduil a week past, perhaps soon I should meet with the Elder Circle and make my petition for membership official. I wonder what trials there will be in that. He felt sure that the Oak Father would guide him. Elm silently stalked through the trees and brush towards the Druid Circle and once there his body contorted and changed from the feline tiger shape into his human form. He carved a message in the ancient druidic language on an old branch fallen from a nearby tree and left it near the center of the circle. "Please inform the Circle that I, Elm, petition to attempt the trials for membership."

With his task complete he returned to his tiger form and called on Silvanus to cast the necessary protective wards on his feral form to ensure his claws did maximum damage and his hide was as strong as the bark of the mighty oak. He padded off through the forest deep in thought with Acorn by his side. A short while later, in deep retrospection another beetle came hurtling out of the brush to his left. It's mandibles clacking it reared up to attack. Elm roared and lunged, his claws and fangs slashed the air gouging deep into the hard carapace……………..

Four notes are left in various locations along the Coast - One in the Grove, one in the Gate, one on the noticeboard at FAI, and one in Nashkel. It reads:

"War has ravaged our lands and our forests into a desparing state which only fire and sword can bring. It is time we come together to assist our land properly by performing the holy ritual of Silvanus called the Song of Trees - This ritual will speed the process of healing the wounded forest.

Druids and clerics of any nature deity are welcome and encouraged to participate. The greater the number of participants, the greater the land will be restored. Please contact me if you are interested.

Tyn reads the note, and smiles, quickly sending a response letting Celduil know that he will attend to help in the ceremony as it is his responsibility as a follower of Silvanus.

Seeing Nai, Tyn takes her over to a quiet place with a copy of the note, and sits down with her to explain, and eventually he decided he shall help her learn to read.

Kaltyra leaves a message in careful handwritten common.
Both I and Grubnar would like to assist in this ritual, if we are welcome. If our attendance would cost you other participants, then we will keep our distance so you may get the most who will help repair the damage.
