Candlekeep was placed on high alert after a strange man arrived with an equally strange tome.
Some would-be visitors were denied entry and escorted back to the Way of the Lion while the matter was handled.
Phrases such as "Elven High Magic" and "Invisible Art" are said to be associated with whatever transpired at the famed fortress.

He goes by the name of Leo Scyntz and he'd like to speak with the Seeker about one of his researches*
While the Flaming Fist patrols remain upon The Trade Way, the martial forces of Candlekeep continue their vigilance upon The Way of the Lion and the environs closest to the famed bastion of knowledge.

A rider is dispatched from the Eastern Farmlands, originating at the Order of the Radiant Heart Auxiliary and following the Trade Way toward the south until the road forks toward the Coast. He rides toward Candlekeep, the symbol of a heart in a circular field apparent on his cloak as it flaps behind him. The messenger passes along a letter to the guard at the gate, the imprint of the seal upon golden wax indicating that Lord Eldarian Al'maire is responsible for its sending. A crisp and militant nod is given before the rider returns to the road.
Acolyte Ragnon can be found of late spending much time in the infirmary, alternating between caring for the clinic's patients and pouring over several thick tomes. Into the late hours of the night, those within the building's walls can often hear her quill scratching away furiously on the pages of a journal as she takes notes, a never fading look of worry in her blue eyes obvious to those around.
The tiefling Malign Ashmeddai is seen outside Candlekeep. Arriving at the gate, he informs the Protectors that he wished to enter Candlekeep.
"I desire to enter the keep to research the nature of Planar studies. As a recent denizen of the Sword Coast, I am concerned with the recent activities, with devils and trolls. Therefore, in order to more effectively combat such threats, I wish to research Lower Planar activities."
Malign presents a book, titled "Defenestration of Tieflings", of which he is the author.
"I present this book, as veracity of my claim to be a scholar of Planar studies."
Satisfied that the wilds south of Baldur's Gate and East of Candlekeep were as safe as she could make them. A certain moon elf ranger cleaned up as best she could and resumed her search for a secret society. Frequently she could be seen pouring through the texts of manuscripts, fiction and non-fiction alike as allowed by Candlekeep's custodians. She was always polite, respectful and returned anything she was allowed to read. Sometimes, she could be spotted in the wee hours of the morning with nothing but a pile of old tomes and a single candle-lit flame to keep her company.

Avowed Seeker Ragnon seems to be on the mend physically, though those who know her would notice a serious change in her personality since her release from orc captivity. She does not venture far from the safety of the Keep, nor does she venture out alone on the rare occasions she leaves the walls. More noticeable, perhaps, is the lack of thunder and lightning around her, and the fact that, although she may laugh and smile, it never quite touches her eyes.
A missive is dispatched to Candlekeep, originating from the Chapterhouse of the Radiant Heart Auxiliary. Horse and rider wearing the symbol of the Order fly in a thunder of hoofbeats upon the Trade Way toward the south, bent on their errand. A scrolled parchment sealed in telltale golden wax and imprinted with the sigil of Lord Eldarian Al'maire is passed to the gatewarden, the addressee relayed with a brief salute.
Seeker Rania Marie Ragnon would receive a missive from one of the guards after completing her shift at the clinic, the sudden influx of the forty seven miners being looked after and assisted keeping both she, Nurse Abigail, and numerous Acolytes busy. After a quick reading of the missive's contents, a smile forms on the lips of the weary woman and she can be seen heading into the library, where for the next few hours she sits behind a desk, quickly scribing out numerous letters.
The long and sleek vessel known as the Sea Seeker has been recently spotted to have dropped anchor near Candlekeep, and a large amount of sailors were ferried off the vessel to the library fortress.
