Notices are placed about the Friendly Arm Inn as follows:
The Master Alchemist, Tarent Nefzen is seeking apprentices who wish to learn the art of arcane enchanting and brewing. Interested applicants may ask for Master Nefzen within the inn or seek him out as he sells his wares just outside the gates of the inn, from time to time. In exchange for the apprentices assistance with collecting ingredients, brewing elixirs, and other needful tasks they will be taught the crafting of wands, the brewing of potions and perhaps will learn a new spell here and there. Those showing exceptional skill in alchemy and the brewing of potions will be taught the greater secrets of brewing powerful elixirs.
///For any player, especially new players to the server who wish to engage in learning about arcane spells and crafting. I eventually hope to expand to enchanting items when/if we are able to implement item crafting. Only "rule" is at some point during the 'training' as you level up you need to have taken, or be willing to take either craft wand or brew potion... OOC'ly if anyone needs to learn more about the mechanics/costs associated with crafting wands, brewing potions/elixirs and scribing scrolls that can be part of the in character 'training'. I'd like to eventually establish a 'crafters guild' for wands/potions/scrolls (maybe item crafting, again, subject to it's implementation). Anyone who is interested can seek me out when I am in game, place an In Character response in this thread or send me a PM to set something up.

"How have I resided here at the Inn for so long and missed such a great opportunity!? Glittergold's Great Nose I cannot pass on an opportunity such as this. The Mystrans have taught me some about imbuing, but one could always learn more. That's the beautiful thing about this Weave now isn't it?"
He slowly takes one of the parchments and rolls it tightly and tucks it away, only then realizing the eyes in the dining hall were looking at him curiously for speaking to himself.
"What? Y'all actin like ya never seen a gnome before!" He scoffs as he walks to the bar. "Bentley...! Ya seen this Master Nefzen round lately?"
Upon hearing of the boisterous Gnome asking about his presence Tarent would smile around the stem of his pipe as he sat near the fire of the inn sipping his warm cider. He would pen a note and give a few coins to one of the many runners who earn coin doing odd jobs in and around the fortress inn.
Master Gnome,
It is still true I seek those with an interest in the truest art and craft and I would welcome a meeting with you to assess what you know and what it might be that I can teach you. I'll look forward to meeting with you here in the inn and we can discuss your capabilities and see if an apprenticeship would be to your liking.
Rykian read over a letter delivered to his room, a smile growing on his face. He quickly pens a response and hands it to the waiting messenger.
"Master Nefzen,
I would be most honored to meet with you and discuss matters in person. One of your talents cannot help but have a robust schedule, I am sure, so I will fit mine to accommodate yours. I am currently residing in one of the rooms upstairs but will gladly come down for a meeting when called. Please let me know when you wish to meet.
A slighty twitchy gnome in a pieced together armor walks past the inn, then doubles back as he sees the note. For a moment, he reads through the message, and scratches his chin, then straightens his goatie again.
"I might not be arcane inclined, but you never know what you might learn from another practicer of the craft. Let's write a letter then!"
He then jumps up, and starts frantically looking through his backpack, looking for a piece of paper and pen. After a while he finds it, and starts writing a sloppy message.
"Dear Mister Nef... Master Nefzen,
I would like to make bo... to learn more about the craft of alchemy and everything that belongs to it! Can I be your apprentice!? I would like to become your apprentice. Though I do not possess the power of arcane magics, I think I would still be a good fit as an apprentice. I assure you, I'm really good!
Best reg . . . Good rega...
Crater Blackrock"
(( Not really a new player, but I've got a very RP centered toon, which might fit this kind of RP very much! So perhaps you're willing to make an exception for me It's been too long anyway! ))
Tarent smiles to himself as he peruses this most recent letter during his evening meal. Once he finishes, he makes his way to his room and pens a response.
Mister Blackrock,
Your enthusiasm warms my heart and yes, I believe there are still things I can teach you, if you've the desire to learn. I'd be a poor follower of Azuth, if I didn't share his gifts with those who wish to learn. Who knows, you may even discover a spark of talent for the arcane! In the meanwhile I can always use assistance collecting herbs, manning cauldron's and taking orders from customers. Meet me at the inn near the fireplace two days hence and we shall discuss your application further.
Tarent Nefzen,
Master Alchemist
Tarent smiles as he finishes the letter and heads off to find a runner.
/// Where are all these gnomes coming from? Did Chambordini finally succeed in overthrowing the dukes and installing a Gnomacracy? : p. Zanni, I always welcome your RP, while my intention was to offer help to new player while staying IC, that by no means disallows RP from established players. Looking forward to meeting you...again.
//hey, before I react icly, is this still going on? Cause my toon Juniper who is a tinkerer from Lantan, also has started to dabble in alchemics rpwise etc. Aside from taking classes as rp element, i also like to see her create real things ingame one day like potions and maybe other items, or wands. She already has cleric, rogue, techsmith and alchemist levels and skillpoints in certain crafting skills, for now craft alchemy being her highest in those. Brew potion and craft wondrous item she already has, But would it also be useful to take craft wand? Or rather craft magical arms and armor? I hesitate between one of those. And I got no real experience here.
Sorry it's so much ooc first. Feel free to pm me any
Thanks,
Lum//
