High Captain Cyrano Ambrosio's vessel, The Black Stag, has stayed overlong in port, although the feared high Captain and his men have spent little time ashore, other than to take on supplies. Similarly, The Maw, the ship of High Captain Karghuth remains in port, and his Reavers seem everywhere, surly and fueled with rage. High Captain Rensby Caine, the Pious, is also in port, and is often seen on the prow of his vessel Faith, staring out to sea.

Rumours spread of some disturbance over the past few days. Firstly, the pirate Captain Daliara Keeneye of the Liar's Fang was seen spending lavishly in the Broken Goblet, and heard boasting of how she had plenty more of that coming; as she left a goblet a brace of Reavers assaulted her and her men, dragging the Captain to the Maw. and slaying the others. Those of her crew who survived are marked men and women, High Captain Karghuth hungry for their blood.

Captain Ugo Lermedda of the Spirit of Brine quickly made ready to leave port after this, but that night High Captain Ambrosio's disciplined crew stormed and captured his cog with miltary precision after a short battle. Less precise, however, was the brutal punishment meted out to those captured: given the terrible cries that echoed out around the harbour as each was put to death and hung over the sides of the ship.

The Sahuagin's Bile, the ship of Captain Nolam Gar, arrived into port the next morning, as was expected. Yet it did not dock, upon seeing the carnage on the Spirit of Brine, making instead for the high seas once more. But High Captain Caine's Faith put to see in pursuit of the larger ship. A swift wind picked up and the two vessels were soon specks on the horizon under clouds heavy with rain, before a storm of remarkable proportions broke and gave vent to the sea's anger. The Faith sailed out of the maelstrom unharmed.

High Captain Caine dumped the drowned body of Nolam Gar on the docks, beheading it and mounting it on a spike next to where those of Ugo Lermedda and Daliara Keeneye had just been erected. Beside the heads, a sign had been put up bearing the sigils of each of the High Captains and a dire warning.
They sold you all to the Scorpion Pirates. We made them pay just like the Scorpions will pay. Roaringshore ne'er dies!

The Sahuagin's Bile, the late Captain Garr's ship, is seen setting sail from Roaringshore with a motley crew. It must have been a short voyage. It returns, in convoy with a cutter; a cutter bearing the sigil of the Scorpion Pirates that have been plaguing Roaringshore's shipping. Both ships look to have been in battle, with bloody decks being mopped clean.

High Captain Ambrosio's ship, The Black Stag, receives a deputation from the vessels. Whatever is discussed is unclear, although later rumour tells of a Black Stag Pirate visiting the Maw of High Captain Karghuth. The High Captain's cries of rage can be heard throughout the dock; and the unlucky Black Stag Pirate is seen decorating the flank of the Maw, in pieces, over the next few days.

Roaringshore's docks have grown quiet over the past few days as an unusual number of Captains, each known to be particularly loyal to one of the High Captains, set sail. The ships each leave in groups clustered around one of the High Captain's ships, with each small flotilla of four or five ships leaving separately. This would be unremarkable, except that if all were taken together it would amount to a fleet composed of those most loyal to the High Captains of Roaringshore.

Rumour begins to spread of a meeting held in the Swordarm Inn. Those invited were the selfsame loyal Captains who have since set sail. Rumour tells that the High Captains spoke of war against the Scorpion Pirates, and promised plunder from their scorpion ships which might be taken. It was a tense meeting, as would any be attended by both High Captain Cyrano Ambrosio and High Captain Karghuth. Its said that High Captain Cyrano crowed at length about the victories against the Scorpion Pirates he had arranged, much to Karghuth's chagrin. It did not come to blows, however, largely thanks to the intercession by the other captains.

Currently, only High Captain Rensby Caine remains in port. He is often seen standing on the deck of his ship, or on the docks, or even climbing the high cliffs to overlook Roaringshore. Always his gaze is out to sea, and those who approach are turned away by his crewmen; although they will see the High Captain's lips moving, continually, in praise of his goddess.

High Captain Caine is seen putting to sea finally, following the other High Captains out into the blue yonder. It carries the usual Cainites, as well as handful of unusual passengers.

Later, the ships of the High Captains return, along with most of their allies. Some ships show battle damage. Some are laden with booty.

One tale is told though, of battle with the Scorpion Pirates on the high seas and the destruction of their base by the wrath of the Queen of the Depths.

The last month has seen a hectic, chaotic and violent ambience to Roaringshore - which is to say, business as usual. After their display of unity, the High Captains are back to their own devices. The power of the Scorpion Pirates appears broken, although occaisional sightings are spoken of by returning captains; of broken and leaderless stragglers, much easier prey than they were before.

Roaringshore is and have always been a place to get a job or another, no matter the background. This time, a certain individual of Chondathan descent seems to be furthering the reputation by offering some himself.

The pirates of Roaringshore gathered near the gallows this day in a collective prayer service to Umberlee. Rumours say their prepared offering - a horse named Theodor - were killed by a demon before they could make the offering. Several of the people gathered then searched for and found a new horse. They eventually found one they called Frank. This one was put in a cage along with other offerings given by various attendees, before thrown over the cliff. Some say the cage and everything in it combusted upon impact, and soon a great wave came from the sea to extinguish it, taking a few unprepared sailors with it off the docks as the water returned back to the sea. Some of those sailors remained unmoving in the water.

Incidentally, Bart the Wagonman woke with a thundering head ache and claimed that his horse Bella had kicked him in the head and run off. He further explained that his wagon had mysteriously been scorched beyond repair. He oddly enough also found a large amount of coin on his person. All in all, Bart was rather perplexed. But with all the coin he now had, he could take a few days off, buy a new horse and cart and still have lots of coin left.

An unusual ship is seen bearing hard into Roaringshore's docks. Not a vessel of one of the local pirate captains; a flatter bottom, smaller size and abundant oars indicating it, for those with knowledge of such things, as one of the hardy vessels used by Northlander pirates from the Moonshaes.

It is an ill looking thing, filled with scarred and tattooed warriors and festooned with skulls and other trophies taken from the vanquished. The square sail which flies from its mast bears a pile of skulls picked out in black thread, around which are various flecks of red, as if a bloody rain falls upon the macabre sigil.

The crew of this vessel come with booty, and many pile off the boat and into the shore to sell their ill-gotten gains and enjoy the various recreational activities of the Shore. Mainly, drinking and fighting. Although one trio, cowled and masked, disappears into the crowds mysteriously.

A hulking man, presumed to be the captain, walks with rolling purpose. He is, if anything, more scarred and ravaged than his crewmen. He grins at all those who pass him, revealing the sharpened metal in his mouth that serves him in the place of teeth. He goes with a body of men to visit the Maw, the mighty vessel of High Captain Karghuth. The sounds of much drinking and carousing can be heard from on board, and then fighting, as some score is settled. Three or four pirates would be seen being thrown off the Maw, for some reason, apparently a member or two from both crews. Perhaps the captains did not want the arguments of others interrupting their drinking. They do not appear to resurface immediately.

Word soon gets around that the ship is the flagship of the Goreskulls, a group of Northlander raiders from the Moonshaes, and that their leader, Snorri Nailtooth, is here to visit High Captain Karghuth, an old acquaintance of sorts.

After a few days spending coin and brawling with the locals and other pirates, these bloodthirsty Northlanders, tired and sated, reboard their vessel and set out to sea. Once it leaves harbour, the vessel turns south.

A man wrapped in skeletal armor appears to float upon the soupy fog of the early evening as he departs a recently docked ship. People part as he passes, whispers and hisses are heard among the crowd that gathers: "The Guide of Candkeleep?. Oh, must be trouble, what up there eh?." Ignoring the rabble, the form that is known as the Guide of Candlekeep approaches the Broken Goblet to be stopped by the orc Krauser stepping in his way to the door. A single look from the faceless one, Krauser is seen stepping aside in unusual deference to the man.

No one is allowed in for a time. Later the faceless Guide exits, his business complete, and heads straight back to the ship that brought him.

A stunned silence falls upon the crowd left wondering what this fateful visit will bring.

Rumours abound of the sworn rivals High Captain Cyrano Ambrosio and High Captain Karghuth clashing once again, nearly coming to fully fledged blows in the Broken Goblet in Roaringshore.

This in itself is not remarkable, although High Captain Cyrano Ambrosio is not a regular visitor to the place. However, two things stood out in this tense encounter. Firstly, it appears to have been triggered by a piece of paper left on the bar by some mysterious miscreant. Secondly, for once, High Captain Cyrano appears to have lost his cool in front of Karghuth, who usually comes out worse in the war of words.

Rumour has it High Captain Ambrosio's vessel, the Black Stag, is making ready to sail.

A fortnight ago a massive and mysterious mushroom cloud appeared out to sea. The cloud some claim may have been nearly a league in girth and was seen by thousands of citizens along the swords coast. Today officers of the Flaming Fist assigned to investigate the bizarre occurrence have officially released there findings to the public.

"The cloud was a natural phenomenon likely caused by seismic activity on the sea floor. It is in no way dangerous and has in fact created some truly spectacular sunsets to be enjoyed by the good people of the swords coast."

the wind swept through the Roaring Shore, sand kicked up and black flags flapped in the wind with thier girnning crossobones.

"AYR!" Proclaimed a tall pirate wearing a pink scarf about his neck. "AYYYYYYYR!" though he was intruppted by another shorter pirate in a pink scarf.

"Larry,.. its Yar.. not Ayrrr. Yar" The shorter man smiled as he shook his head.

Larry was a tall pirate and was pretty sure he was right "AYYR!"

After days of preparation and supply stockpiling, the well-known fearsome brigantine, marked by its black and blood-red planks, was seen setting sail from Roaringshore. Her course set south and to the west.

Two days short of a tenday later she returns, her high spirited crew unloading the newly acquired cargo in a boasting manner, flaunting it for all to see. It seems that the old Wolf is sailing under the black once more.

After a rather public squabble between the Captain of the Seawolf and Highcaptain Reynolds, the Hellstorm men are nowhere to be seen around Roaringshore. The Seawolf remains anchored at its usual spot, however the entirety of its crew remains aboard.

Majority of the local merchants refuse to deliver or sell any supplies to the Seawolf. The locals wonder when and if the Hellstorm will start rationing their food.
