For the past few days, those who frequent the temple have seen several new beings in and around the Temple. Word has been slowly spreading within mundane Craftsmen Guilds of the Loyang inquiring as to bids concerning work for the Temple. The renewed efforts within the Tempe have seen an increase of faithful at services. None seem to know much more than what they can see in the quiet bustle surrounding the Temple.

On 14 Alturiak 1356, a small half squad of Tormtar's in full ceremonial armor led by the Gate Temple Commander are seen leaving the Gate and marching south from the Eastern Farmland's. Half a day later they return, carrying a litter with a body covered in the ornate funeral shroud of Torm. The half squad then re-enters the Gate and proceeds into the Temple.

The herculean Thayan warrior Bueroza's midnight gauntlet released the parchment to hang once more after he had read it. A dim amusement in the shark like eyes of the Champion of Bane, as he commented to bystanders,

"One must ask whereupon these Paladins acquired such unholy text.

Do the holy men make habit of consorting with the drow, and trade in dark lore with Sshamathan librarians? Or did the Shelf of Many Books here in Baldur's Gate violate Duchal Law by disseminating unlawful doctrines of a forbidden god.

The citizens of this city are due an answer from the church of Torm."

Kyal appears to materialize out of thin air, wherein he was standing quietly in the shade of a nearby tree, as the large armored man leaves. Smirking to himself he enters the Temple. Walking down the hall he spies one of the Acolytes on hands and knees repairing a cracked baseboard. He jovially blurts out "Son be glad there are some illiterate fools among us. Now .. quit that work and report to one of the Temple Librarians and seek a discourse on 'Reading Comprehension'. Thank Torm that our enemies are not the brightest" he mutters as he proceeds towards the Loyan's Office to report the incident, laughing mutely as he proceeds.

Marietta Starling, upon passing by the temple, paused her steps and squinted at the declaration posted to the sanctum's facade. After reading the text, she snorted smugly and muttered loudly enough to be heard by passerby,

"How cute. The little boy hides behind paper because he lacks the balls to confront the Knight-Commander directly. I wonder what he's afraid of."

Several of the Craftsmen from the various guilds, and those faithful sworn to the Temple, working in the area hear what is being said and look away from their work for a moment to glance in the voice's general direction.

Worker Rowan: "What is that ditzy dressed trollop talking about?" he utters.
Faithful Martin: " I believe she speaks about that so called Knight they have. The one that the Dwarf slew.""
Worker Rowan: " A slain Knight? How is he still alive? That makes no sense."
Faithful Martin:" Well, Rowan. Seems this Knight killed a wounded unarmed man and the Dwarf killed the Knight."
Worker Rowan: " Your kidding, right? Pulling my leg there son?"
Faithful Martin:" No Rowan I am not. After that the Dwarf tossed the head somewhere. But seems they got the Knight raised."
Worker Rowan:" Ohhhh .. that divine finger waggler stuff?"
Faithful Martin:"Something like that. But I tell you, I would fear for the Commanders life if the Dwarf was after him. This slayer of unarmed men, No."
Faithful Martin:" I think the Commander is able to handle himself. It is obvious the Knight failed the test of steel."

They all look around for a moment and begin to laugh as the woman departs.

Over the last several weeks a brown cloaked layman has been seen making a visit to the temple once a fortnight. He appears well acquainted with the longer term members of the clergy and often spends a few moment in fellowship with the temple's attending cleric. His visits comprise of making a considerable tithe in the fashion of a church crusader and resupplying from the temple's stores. When services are in session he attends in the proper fashion, though his road weary attire is often in conflict with his templar like familiarity of services and ritual.

Of note, he never stays for a meal or rest during his visits to the temple.

Bob Thairo cackles as he reads the newest notice. ''Now that is a reach if I ever seen one. Are they not aware the Lady Castellan herself is not a Banite?'' He then leaves Zhentarim brooch plain for all to see

Dreadlord Marietta Starling strolled by in her battle rattle which bore her rank, while she sensually ate a banana. The new proclamation on the Temple's facade drew her attention, and again, she squinted at it. She unceremoniously plucked the half-peeled fruit from her mouth.

"Do these Tormtars realize they don't enforce the laws around here? They're doing more preaching of a forbidden faith in the city than we ever did."

With a dark, wry chortle, she carried on with her walk, and her banana.

Bueroza rode leisurely through the city on his black Tyranturan warhorse, Xenubat. The beast was adorned in full plate barding, its mane brightly stained in crimson as was M'au fashion.

As he passed the temple he teased the reigns to stay the beast briefly in order to regard the latest notice. While he read he carved an apple with his taloned midnight gauntlet, eating only the seeds and discarding the flesh to the beggars at the heels of his steed.

Milky eyes bleached by wicked sorcery drift over the text. The demeanor of the giant was soon disinterested, spurs dug into the beast to urge it on out the Eastern Gate.

"He is afraid."

*A courier would approach the temple, carrying a letter addressed to Commander Kyal, it would bear a seal of Mystra upon it. Once delivered to the guards the courier would depart the area as quickly as he had arrived*

29 Ches 1356

Late in the morning a small detachment comprising a half squad of men-at-arms and lead by a sargent are seen leaving the Tormtar Temple and traveling out the East Gate. Several hours later they return with a body tied over the back of a horse and quietly speak with the Gate Guards, who allow them to enter the City and proceed to the Temple.

Over the next few hours as is normal for Cities such as Baldur's, rumors and whispers wind their way through the Faithful Community. The body belongs to a Temple Faithful. Apparently slain while performing his duty by a couple of morally rotten individuals. He was duly raised by the Temple Priests. While his defeat diminishes Torm's Glory. His steadfast stand against multiple enemies and persevering to the end does bring Glory to the Church.

It is said that Loyan Celwig personally led the service, held quietly among the Faithful. And spoke of the beginning of the Temple's Penance of Duty and it's obligation's unto the good citizens of the Gate.
