Re: Common Drow words used
this is purely optional right?
I could just go
((Say in Drow)) Yes Mistress, thankyou, Lolth be honored
instead of having to use drommon and go with
"Xas Jabbress, Bella dos, Lolth Tlu Malla!"
as I kinda would prefer to just sure english.

Re: Common Drow words used
you can always just use the drop down language also, and just have it auto translate

Re: Common Drow words used
Interesting opinions on this topic. From my point of view as a bloody beginner in the Underdark I'd say adding a few of these words every once in a while is nice to spice it up.
Making whole sentences with them would make it harder to follow a conversation and might even hurt the immersion in my eyes.

That is correct and you will see that the words are dropped now and again Bella Dos, Aluve, Vendui, Rothe, and etc. I have yet to see anyone actually do full sentences aside from NPCs.Ivellios wrote:Interesting opinions on this topic. Re: Common Drow words used
it was more common years ago when the more hardcore drow players were still around and drow raids was still a thing but yea its hard to follow them if you cant pick up on certain phrases

Re: Common Drow words used
Yeah it would be a bit hard, not sure it considers them more hardcore or anything.

Re: Common Drow words used
Hardcore was before the auto language translator on my old server where we used the drow language by learning all the words and speaking them daily.
As a note - we did the same with Elven as well. Embarrassing when you mixed up the two languages by accident! LOL
I think though here on BG I've run into more people that dislike what they call "Drowmon" than there are those that use a select few flavored words.

Re: Common Drow words used
I used my character's IG journal to store/recall the most often used words until I started using them myself. That way I don't need to tab out to the OP here to check what someone just said.

Re: Common Drow words used
I pretty much only use the greeting/parting phrases. Rothe isn't a 'drow word' per se though, its an actual name for a musk ox-like animal, except its called a rothe.
I prefer to use the english words because that's what's easier for me. Some NPC conversations feel like I'm solving a puzzle (Idol of Lolth quest anyone?).

Re: Common Drow words used
Exordius picked up a few words down there... one of them being Vith'os, which is apparently the drow equivalent of (F you). At least thats what i am told anyway.
