I'm sorry
Sshamath, too, was not spared
The City of Dark Weavings sees itself the center for many occurrences. The magical arcane lights that illuminate the city and give its purple glow may flicker wildly and go out, though in some of these cases, they explode in wild colours before snuffing themselves.
Guards and wizards running around the city can be seen in utmost disarray, trying to grasp at what is happening as they get reports of weird events all over Sshamath. The use of magic is limited and done so as one of the last resorts, and the Conclave seems to issue an order to increase the number of guards that make use of arms instead of the Art.
Many of the city's shops and bazaars deal mostly on spell components and raw materials, but some of those that trade in magical items see themselves vulnerable by magical effects going awry. From merchant stalls that dissolve in acid created seemingly from nothing, to some outright exploding in blasts of force energy, leaving some wounded or even dead.
The Gloura's Wings, likely the least affected place in Sshamath, doesn't get spared from the strangeness. A specific plate of the cook, more than once now, simply grows legs and runs around the establishment, only to be followed by that very cook who screams loudly and threatens to murder everyone if the plate is shattered.
And most importantly, perhaps, is what happens at the Schools. Though it is attempted to keep much of what is happening under covers, either through rushed whispers or by simply watching the schools, many of the phenomenons become public knowledge around Sshamath. Explosions were reported in the School of Conjuration that saw part of the building turn to dust. An entire pillar of the School of Invocation and Evocation simply turns into a viscous sweet liquid with a burt-yellowish tint, honey. The School of Mages experiences the coming alive of many contraptions, one specific one had scissors for hands, and stabbed/cut several mages. The floors in many rooms of the School of Transmutation turned into quicksand. An arcanist in the process of being swallowed by the quicksand panicked and cast several spells that went awry, leaving that specific room in a green mist that would burn any who touch it.
Other events have happened across the schools, most evidently explosions, small and large, that leave some wounded.
The Conclave, for now, has remained mostly silent as they deal with the confusion in their own Schools and try to understand what has happened.
The wards of Sshamath don't fail, but act strangely. Gems incrusted in rocks outside the perimeter of the city come to shatter inexplicably. Non-magical fire would burn ten times brighter and hotter for minutes before exploding. Some deaths are reported where the victim simply died in the middle of the streets, seemingly by asphixiation.
Lastly, the Darkwoods District sees a rise in activity as they take advantage of the city's vulnerable position, stealing from the Bazaars whenever distraction occurs.
