A golden haired tiefling dressed in fine linen and silk directs a man in blue and grey livery to place a stool at an intersection in the palace district of the gate. Satisfied with the simplicity of the setup, the rustic look of the wood contrasting oddly with his fine garb, he sits and accepts a lute from the same servant who had been carrying the stool, and begins tuning it softly.
He looks up with a faint twinkle in his eyes and a small smile on his face, he begins to play and sing to no one in particular, with the simple hope that someone's spirits are lifted.
((Regarding this being a "biography/journal post"...disregard that and feel free to post here with IC reactions or even requests for songs (the songs don't need to be entirely lore-accurate, by necessity, but the post should be IC) At some point after I get this (well, if I get this) sort of better established, maybe I can get a moderator to move it to the Elfsong Tavern section.
Also, I am quite familiar with singing, but I am 100% new at recording/mixing, so if at any point you have any tips, please share them, I will absolutely not be insulted by constructive criticism.
Also, yes, I probably will get back in game some day. Maybe, still on the fence about that. In the mean-time I still plan to submit you all to auditory punishments, muahahahaha! ))

Re: The Songbook of Liam the Golden
Not entirely happy with this, but I got the mic today and just sort of plugged it in and started recording. Hopefully as this continues the production values will go up, lol.
Anyway, hope you enjoy!
The bard sits as the last notes fade, washing out over whatever audience may have gathered. He smiles faintly, a pensive and far-away look in his eyes, as he gazes up at the night sky. His liveried man-servant makes another appearance, bringing a bottle of red wine before disappearing into the night.
The bard pours himself a glass and takes a sip before plucking out a few notes to a different tune.

Re: The Songbook of Liam the Golden (1st song up)
The bard strums a few notes of his lute, then leans down and apparently whispers to the instrument softly. When he resumes playing his lute it rings out with the sound of a grand piano. Clearly there is some bardic magic at work here, and the interesting site garners no small attention from passers-by.
((It seems, after listening to these both again, that some of the changes I am making in Audacity are not translating to Youtube. This one sounds like it has some clipping in some sections, despite sounding clean and clear in Audacity. Not sure how to fix that, but hopefully I can get it fixed.))

Re: The Songbook of Liam the Golden (2nd song up 12/8)
A few days later a tall golden haired tiefling is seen in the inn at Candlekeep, regailing Winthrop's guests and smiling at the familiar faces in the crowd. Despite the presence of friends, he retires upstairs without mingling after the performance and is gone early the next morning, no one quite sure where he is off too, perhaps not even him.
((The recording quality is better this time, but still not perfect. Good enough for me to hear all my mistakes though...ugh. Anyone else hate the sound of their own voice once it's recorded? I do... Anyway, I hope someone other than me is getting a kick out of this!
