OOC: This is the Journal of Hampton Simmons, cousin to Beaucamp Simmons a retired Adventurer.
Written in Draconic
I was so surprised, first by my cousins offer of the Farm House in the North Farmlands of Baldur's Gate. then by my wife's response of "Lets do it". Beaucamp has finally retied. I assume the death of his Mother made him want to go off on some final crazy adventure. I wish him well. He was quite zany but family. Family is what matters. Speaking of family:
Charles of course has fit right in, he even met a guard and was offered a chance to possible join. On that same note, I met one of the Lords of the Radiant Heart and he also said my son should possible join. Paladin are trusted and rightly so.
Alice is of course loving the city. We found the theater and heard there will be an open stage forum. I hope Alice can join in, she is a flower I wish to see bloom to full height. She does take after her mother and is a bard as well.
Winky... Oh my love. Since we are not living in the Big City and not Gullykin anymore, I thought it fitting to get fitted. Best way to fit in is to dress the part. I think I can find at least two more ways to add fit into this entry. I found this polite Lass named Lady Nat. She was changing in the tent near Blunt and I walked in om her. So embarrassing. After I apologized many times, she mentioned she teaches etiquette and is a seamstress. I accepted and paid to get my entire family fitted. Winky had the time of her life torturing that poor elf... She hid all sorts of bugs, crickets on her person and jumped all over the furniture...
Anyways, I did meet with one of the most public Thavians about. I figured I need to meet with all the Wizard Entities (Guilds and such too) and I think the best way is politely and publicly. Many people have said he is a proper git, to say it politely. I figured their reputation would win out and I was right. Thavians respect Wizards and those that practice the formal Art. I know I am a second class person to them but at least I am worth something in there eyes. Indeed he was polite and treated me well, offering to join their "Sparrows". I of course can not but I politely declined. Telling the truth of course, that my Wife would not agree with that decision.
I got homesick, I admit and went back to Gully for a while. I got yelled at by the Mayor, "why leave Ham??! We have a proper tower right in town". I endured it with a smile and then wondered north into the Sharp. I forgot how lush it is, the Satyr where angry as always, but I avoided them easily. I ran into a human lad, rather good shot and we went north. He wanted help fighting the Ettin and Trolls. He lead me to a beastly place, I never want to go there again. All that Fog and towering foes... Just no fun.
I am learning herbalism, I made my first break through and bottle the oil of some herbs. It keeps me busy and gives me reason to scout out the Baldur's Gate area.
