Background:
Born on the surface when the Twisted Tower was under full Drow control in Shadowdale. Was indentured to a ruling Noble house with a base in Shadowdale, in the many years of service ended up traveling extensively and trained as a special operative, assasinations, culling control, slave acquisitions in and around the Northern Dalelands.
After being a highly successful agent for many years for his female hierarchic house, an attack by outsiders on the Twisted Tower and quarters left him stranded outside the city and Shadowdale. For years he traveled subsisting as possible, barely surviving, eventually migrating to the area around Harrowdale, and taking in with a Pirate ship where he learned the trade so to speak. Always keeping an ear open for the goings on, he eventually heard that his people had retaken the Twisted Tower so he returned to find things changed, his former house no longer in existence.
It was at this time he used his skills and knowledge to freelance quite successfully, building a reputation as a dependable operative with a lot of know how and experience in many situations. His days spent sailing about Dragon's Reach helping him often move precious goods through dangerous territory. Sly eventually formed a vague but successful network of spies, informants, thieves, assassins but staying always at an arms length from direct involvement in politics and religious affiliations.
In his younger days Sly would have probably been quite a bit more inclined to evil than good, but after traveling so much, living both in the lap of luxury and in the most abysmal conditions, he has mellowed out and really has become quite neutral in his outlook. Having took a fascination to gaining knowledge rather than power he always remained low key but highly successful in his latter years.
Eventually the Twisted Towers fell to invading Humans, Sly then made his way through the catacombs under the Tower to the last remaining good gates to the Underdark and launched on a long and perilous journey with a caravan of similar individuals many of who he worked with or leased contracts to.
The party having done some research, set its final destination and through much adventure, both good and bad, arrived in the city of Sshamath. It was by no mere chance that Sshamath was picked, since most of these operatives were the males left behind of fallen female dominated Noble houses in the Twisted Tower. It was here in Sshamath that he set up much the same business he ran on the surface.
Now being born and raised on the surface caused certain things to happen, a lot o f the inherent weakness to sunlight were lost but the magical nature and such was weakened and lost too over time on the surface. In fact some Drow and Sly himself experienced a weakening, almost a sickness and could feel themselves withering in a way. Once returning to the Underdark and to Sshamath and in the following years Sly could feel his strength returning.
When things were going well, an opportunity came knocking and Sly acquired a few businesses in Sshamath, namely some, you might call them "dancing clubs". They were great fronts for what was going on behind the scenes. Which of course was very secretive.
Eventually business opportunities arrived in the form of trade on the surface to certain individuals and factions. Making trips to Darkhold he was offered a number of slaves in a business transaction. Sly had always steered clear of the slave market, but this once he accepted the slaves as man-servants and female servants, offering them contracts as employees or the right to go free. Most if not all, took the contracts, as they offerred fair wage and recompense for duties.
It was one of these female workers, known as Zer'tath Lauske, that attracted Sly and and jokingly he offered her a position as his concubine. She was a real beauty to behold and fiery as well, mixed heritage possibly drow and surface elf. Maybe even full blood, quite mysterious she was, which made her all the more attractive, how she became a slave she would never discuss. It was a short courtship that seemed both were attracted to the other and fate seemed to have brought them together.
It was Sly's golden years, in a way, success came in many forms, his returning strength, the meeting of his "concubine", the new business in Sshamath and Darkhold. Zer'tath Lauske became his lover, confidant, and even business consultant. Life was not completely without its ups and downs but most were up. Zer'tath seemed to add a calmness and confidence to Sly that he never had before and he fell deeply in love with her, even though as a drow finding it difficult to show. But they both knew that they drew on each others strengths and balanced out the weaknesses.
Zerh'tath eventually became pregnant and it was on one of the many trips to Darkhold that Zerh'tath came early with the child unexpectedly. It was one of those events that transformed Sly again, as he and Zerh'tath had a great argument over wherther she should accompany Sly on this trip or not. Zerh'tath insisting that she was fine to make the journey, Sly thinking that maybe she should stay behind.
To this day, Sly blames himself for being weak in giving in. Zerh'tath went into labor in Darkhold and it became a long terrible thing. For there were no mid-wives to help other than some Zhentarium humans who did not understand things that were happening. Eventually Zerh'tath died giving birth to a weak male child. It was with great grief to have himself helpless and his lover die in his arms, all the while yet giving birth to his son, whom he has ever been thankful for.
But it did harden him in a way, Sly would never speak her name again, Zerh'tath's body was taken back to Sshamath and laid to rest in a private catacomb. The baby had a wet-nurse but was weak as a child, and sickly. Looking first into the eyes of his newborn, he noticed flecks of blue and thought they were beautiful but cold, so he named his son Inthuusol.
As the years went by, Sly never would even mention the name Zher'tath. As Inthuusol grew older and was raised, Sly decided that his son would have a better opportunity than he did himself and magic would be his calling. It was a wise choice, since Inthuusol although appearing very intelligent, did not have his fathers strength, but seemed more suited to magery due to his constant ailments as a sickly child.

Goals: Continue with business and success, especially with Darkhold and such. Fill in a few gaps in the above history and timeline more in the latter days up to present explaining allegiances and such, and how his business network works.
More.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: It's all up there. Zerh'tath's history or mystery? Tie-ins to other PCs I play obviously, but also the GreyFang
More.
PLEASE DO NOT LOCK THREAD! I want to be able to add or refine this. It more than likely has some errors both grammatically and such, but the timeline although vague has been researched and yes there were a lot of drow on the surface at this and certain times.
