Background: Gustov is of Baulder’s Gate, and was raised within the city by parents with some wealth to their name. His birth occurred very early in his mother’s pregnancy. During a scheduled trip to Candlekeep, the caravan with Gustov’s parents was part of an event. The travelers were set upon by a strange storm: wind, lightning and furious rains. Gustov’s mother's wagon was struck by multiple bolts of lightning while the lass was still pregnant with him. Left barely alive, luckily there was a cleric traveling with them. The mother was attended to, and able to survive, and the caravan made it to Candlekeep without further incident.

Upon reaching the keep, several clerics were able to look after the mother, and she soon went into labor, much too soon, and much to everyone’s surprise. The child, Gustov, was born in Candlekeep, and it was obvious he was not a ‘normal’ human, he had been plane touched.

Gustov was very small, and sickly, and would remain this way during his youth. Upon adulthood, he was able to gain somewhat of a normal constitution, but was still below average in this regard. His dexterity and intelligence were noted to be very high, with his wisdom, and charisma being quite poor, as the human norm might suggest. His strength seemed to increase dramatically during puberty, and he became quite strong in this regard.

Gustov’s lack of wisdom, charisma, sickly nauture and his obvious condition did not serve him well in regards to his relationship with his parents, and others later in life. His parents loved him deeply, but were not able to find a common ground with him, and found the work load of raising this child was well above any initial assumptions. He was sent away many times, to camps, or schools where he became a deadly crossbower, and began a study of arcane arts. Gustov strove to make friendships, and eagerly used his parents means when able.

Many scholars within the walls of Candlekeep found an interest in the genasi; born there under strange circumstances as it were. Gustov began to visit the keep more, and more, and once old enough to travel alone,began to split his time between his home in Baulder’s Gate, and Candlekeep. Once able, and strong enough, he began a life of adventure; intending to amass his own fortune, to rival that of his family. He is not an outcast, and he is loved by his family, but as an adventure, he sees them less, and less, and it is not uncommon for him to make a trip to Baulder’s Gate, and not see his family, although he does think of them fondly.

As an adventure Gustov seeks knowledge, and means to test his resolve, skills, and magic. Others see him as very strange, even for a windsoul, and his social skill are retarded, at best. He is very intelligent, and very eager to please, but seems to naturally repel others, to some degree, and is known to change his mind on a whim. Gustov is generally polite, and social; however, there is something different about him.

Goals: To travel as the wind, to venerate Akadi. Gustov knows he is different, blessed in a way, and seeks to use his gifts, and strengths to become a notable adventurer. Crossbow mastery and arcane knowledge that would rival most are current objectives.
