Background: Born and raised in the Border Kingdoms, on the shores of the Lake of Steam. Cara had an average childhood, never knowing her father but being raised by her mother, who was a merchant of some success.

Having a pleasent carefree childhood excluding one or two mishaps. Until a few months past her thirteenth birthday her mother took ill. Her mother wasted away day after day, week after week. The towns one local temple could do nothing for her but was all too willing to take her gold for the attempt.

Until finally after a long struggle her mother passed away. As she was being buried Cara had her first religious experience. Besides her mothers grave a skeletal figure cowled in robes of black stared out at the gathered mourners, a wicked scythe carried in one bony hand. This was Cara's first experience with Myrkul, Lord of the Dead.

Feeling almost compelled Cara left her extended family's care with what gold her mother had left her and travelled to the City of Tumlon. Which sits next to the so called "Crypt City" a vast necropolis of crypts and tunnels. Overlooked on the shores of the lake by a slender black needle of a temple, called the Skullspire.

Entering the temple she sought to become an initate, her faith being proven strong enough she was accepted into the church. Cara spent the next eigth years studying religious texts and lore. Learning rituals and spells and the craft of the dead.

On her twenty first birthday she was sent out to fullfill the wishes of a patient that had died in her care, for a nominal fee of course. Having the dual objective of spreading her faith farther to the west in the sands of Calimshan.

Working as a caravan healer and guard for a year until she finally managed her task. After the deed was accomplished she stayed in Calimshan spreading her lords faith whilst engaging in several business oppertunities which failed for the most part.

Three years later she ran afoul of the underworlds pashas and promptly left Calimshan, sailing on the first outlying ship. Ending up in the city of Baldurs Gate, which has illegalized the faith of her lord. Seeing it as a sign she made it her goal to change it.
