"Not many people can say they were at the beginning of a story thus carefully crafted and molded to into a perfect tale of victories and defeats. Even less can say they lived to tell the entire story thus knowing every detail, every cause and effect, every lose and every win. For these stories spread out amongst this ever expanding world we live in has their mazes. Obstacles and illusions the walkers must face and overcome to reach a new chapter even more difficult then the last. It is with these mazes of life that we live and learn from our mistakes. So that we may walk our individual mazes clearly without finding ourselves brought back into the dark corners of walking the wrong direction. . ."

"How we choose to continue is different. Our mazes, different. Our minds, different. Our choices, different."

Our destination. . . The same.

"I was there in the beginning, when the creatures of dragonspear had risen up once more with a force as large as the mighty armies of athkatla. They came marching, running, wailing as the forces the winding way front had taken up arms against them. I myself had ignored the battle at hand walking deeper within their lines searching for what I sought after. Of course I didn't find it and was only met by the larger force of the hell-spawn within the war-front. I could have killed them all. . . But. . . I needed them. And so I made my retreat leaving them an offering of good faith so that maybe they would know to come to me when they were desperate enough."

"The battle of course continued on later that day as the fires of the winding way only made their way to the bridge of soubar not to long after. That is when I saw it. The gates of hell open before my eyes as the hell-spawn rushed their way out with a clear intent of carnage and mayhem. I watched from afar guarded by my own small horde of undead as the soubarians took up arms against them, fighting for their lives. Of course, this was neither my maze nor my battle to conquer. It was a maze I was chosen to overlook. The obstacles were apparent as was the path, and it was up to those within the field to find their way. And so I watched, and so they fought, and so they won."

"The aftermath of the battle was far less then I was expecting that is for sure. The dark-knights dragged their wounded back into the walls and the locals gathered around in gossip of the recent events from amidst the smoke and mirror of the previous battle. I myself of course made sure the area was cleaned of any -left overs- to which I had not found any. Nay a single lingering soul nor body to be collected, a pity. Thus I found myself disinterested and made my way back to where I belonged, entering the gates of my maze of imaginations and dreams."

"As the meditation began I soon found myself drifting away, into a scene I had been to before. I was there once again at the bridge as the scene replayed in my mind of the dragon-spear forces marching their way towards the gates of soubar with brimstone and hellfire. Although I felt something was different. . . The scene was the same but the atmosphere grew hotter, the blood spilled turned from puddles to pools and the humans who fought were the ones being pushed back this time. Every blink from my eyes only made the scene progress even faster and the story the more grim as time went on. But even still I watched as the devils of dragon-spear pushed forward and into the town of soubar where their fires only grew as did their kill count. And so I watched as a judge of fate careful not to interfere until their maze was finished as the town burned and the mighty behemoths of dragon-spear crushed the bridge of soubar under their step."

"I soon found myself blinking again only to open my eyes outside of the dream-scape and into the mortal realm once more."

"A dream?"

"Or a dark divination?"

Find the Path

Folk tales... Gossip. . . Rumors. . . All things one could believe or disbelieve to be true, as facts in all categories cease to be made bare. Then why is it that we believe what we hear without it. . . Without fact? Is it because we long find the truth? Or maybe our since of curiosity as mortals is a greater factor. This ever growing longing to find the conclusion to words spoken with instrument and campfire is a mystery to me. But even in my careful study of these emotions I find myself like the rest of them who are curious. My feet move on their own. . . My mind races of the endless possibilities. . . And my eyes shift from left to right with every step, looking and searching for that one thing that will satisfy my hunger for disbelief. What was it that started this hunger? Why do I find myself standing here over-top the mountains waterfall and look onward viewing the lands through the eagles eyes. I remember. . . It was a tale that was brought to my ear not long ago before my journey. . . A tale of a dark presence riddled with words death and fear. . . A tale of someone who brought about the armies of the dead commanding them in her every step towards a darkened divinity. . . I felt a connection after hearing of the tale as I myself knew of a similar tale spoken by the locals. . . A tale of another dark presence. . . A tale of a necromancer. . .

A tale of me. . .

And so here I am watching and waiting for a glimpse of the future as I cast a spell dark premonition before my god - "See what I see, and see the truth." Words never spoken so true at that very moment. . . For as I opened my eyes once again. . . The truth was there, right infront of me.

I opened my eyes to find myself in a dream-like realm of darkness and death. It was here that everything around me moved as I moved, with tracers that followed the every image of my vision. A women stood there next to a quite dapper looking undead soldier, the two of them staring with eyes. . . no. . . without eyes. . .

She called out to me...

"Whom are you, I smell the evil on your soul... Are you.... one of the faithful?"

And I answered...

"I am not of your faith. Our paths are different. But your destination is the same."

She replied...

"But do you... fear death?"

. . .

"I do."

. . .

Soon enough the preistess turns her gaze yonder within the darkness as I find myself soon following her gaze.

A corporal spectator had appeared soon enough... The thing gave off an aura of pure evil as a chilling wind followed it's every movement. The preistess and it had spoken and soon had spoken to me...

"We have given you a gift, a ability of sorts..."

"Use it wisely..."

With her her final words and a blink of my eyes I had found myself welcomed by the green grasses of the mortal world once again with a new purpose and a new destination.

All I must do now is. . .

Find the Path.

These lands have proven more tiresome as the days go by. I find myself losing track of the time more and more each day as what was initially suppose to simply be a scouting mission has turned into something much more important to me. These lands, the people, the places. . . Things that I once thought were simply to be a after-thought are, no longer. But even with these emotions I still have a sickness. . . A feeling as if I am lost without truly a place to ease the tensions upon my body.

I met a man recently, a Julius Baptise. A wise man who has seen things I thought not possible. He carries himself similar to another person I know. . . Head held high with sense a of meaning and luxury in his steps. It was only recently that I have come to accept his wisdom and judgement of things, and I do not regret my decision to accept his wise words. With him, I have been able to do things I again thought not possible. We have traveled together over the past month through thick and thin, deserts and snow. And with our combined effort he have weathered many storms, slain the mightiest of foes, and have overcome all obstacles that would come before us. He has gained my trust I can only hope I leave the same mark upon his thoughts of me in my decisions.

It was not until recently that him and I had stumbled upon a wounderous site in our ventures. A voice called to me. . . It whispered in my ear guiding me along a path of great proportions. Deep inside a tomb, plagued with the stench of death and the vile smell of manure we walked to follow what it was that beckoned us. After many hours of searching through tunnels, traps and mazes did the whispers become clear. And so did the glorious sight that would grace my eyes in it's discovery.

A truly remarkable place so far underground. A city of the dead filled with all manners of tormented souls and cryptic creatures. We took some time to explore the ruined city bellowed beneath the earth, visiting the many sites and spectacles alike the ancient utopia had to offer us. The locals seemed to not be as welcoming, as they tried to thwart our exploration with vile might and magic at every street corner. Their blockades proved less and less of a threat the more we pushed our way into the heart of the city where it was there we saw what it was they were trying to protect. A grand temple stood in view within the city-scape. It looked as old as the crumbled walls before it but somehow looked to be in pretty good condition despite the its obvious age. We took a look inside the temple to find that it was truly as beautiful within as it's exterior. There were decorations, pews, tables, workbenches and alters abound. Although most things seemed misplaced everything within the temple looked to be in good condition and gave the place an an aura of peace and tranquility. We walked inside the temple and started to redecorate the place placing furniture and tables alike in the right place with the help of the undead who walked with us. After many hours we looks around the temple sigh a relived sigh from the work done and nodded to each-other before Julius took a final slightly dusty red fur covered arm chair and placed it in the rear center of the temple and stood next to it. I looked to him puzzled before turning to see the dead before us all kneel as the chair was placed and Julius stood looking to me. I simply stared at the scene unsure for a moment what to do next weather this was something I truly wanted or deserved. . . But . . . Julius looked to me deeply, he stood there next to the chair saying nothing else but in my mind I knew what it was his silence was foretelling upon my ear. And so I took a step forward. . . One singular heavy step at a time until I reached the chair that seemed so much farther then my eyes perceived. . .But soon enough I reached it. . .

And I sat. . .

After raising my head I took upon the view of the temple before us and the dead that knelled at our presence. That is when I knew that there was something special about this place. . . This old ruined and weathered necropolis of a city with walls torn a sunder. . . Estates, pillaged and plundered. . . And the aimless and tormented souls who walked the city streets without a purpose other then to reap their very existence.

"A place to reforge, commune, and morn for the dead, with the undead. We shall bring it back to it's former glory and allow all those who wish to commune with the spirits, or find a resting place within the safety of it's walls. May the many who watch above take witness to our beginning and bless all those who step foot here in their voyage to the afterlife.
