Beldur's first tale on the coast

Unread post by pickpocket »

A somewhat odd looking elf enters the Friendly Arm Inn (this also happened in the elfsong tavern some time in the past...and may happen again some day). He immediately attracts the eyes of locales and travelers as well. He grabs his lute, approaches the bar then after a brief chit-chat with the bartender is allowed to introduce his latest work. He slowly tips his awkward lantan hat with a pair of goggles wrapped around it, then introduces himself, his voice lightly fills the room, even though it sounds like he is whispering.
- Good evening there folks, I am Beldur Amakiir, of the Amakiir family of Doron Amar. - he suddenly pauses and then for a brief moment it seems he is considering retracting his introduction.
- Oye, whaccha have there matey? -a sailor eventually addressed the elf.
- Oh Anyway -he starts setting up his lute - I bring to you a ballad. The Ballad of Oghrunn, the honorable Ogrillon.

Listen 'ere folks, a story told
of the might Ogrillon,
named Oghrunn,
and his tragic tale
Where fate would unfold
in mystery
followed by misery
never washed away by ale.

Twas a few moons ago,
when dragonspear,
the castle,
'n windy waters
were roamin with mighty devils
and it was fear
that struck the civils
inhabiting the land.

The folks then led a charge,
a countermeasure,
on Darkhold
a fortress not far away
but they needed a hero
for good measure,
and there came Oghrunn
a tall fellow
to lead the assault.

And who was him, the fellow
you may ask
an ogrillon?
Aye, one,
one of his kind with a start
as he was always bullied
by the folks of Faerün.
Yet he'd never let his pain
corrupt his heart.

But oh, such tragic turn
of events,
as he pushed back the beasts
back to the forest,
he lost track of Drusilla
the raven-haired
beauty
his one true love interest.

Some say she died that day, oh
but can we be sure
of that lads?
Only silence remains now
for Oghrunn
and now let
us tip our hats.

to be continuted.../changed
