A priestess, a mage, a druid and a monk could be seen around the farmlands a few days ago. The small group carefully investigated the local wells and took water samples.

Later that day a smiling druid wandered around the farmlands. The young man offered help to the farmers and asked questions about the strange happenings as he was studying the field and the animals around it.

The druid seemed to have a high interest in the blighted plants. He attempted to figure out the type of blight and where did it appear first. He tried to set the happenings in a timely order.

The man often asked questions to reveal more details about the animals gone missing.

To those who considered that unknown druid suspicious or nuts due to his 'weird' way of speaking. He was able to provide card issued by the Moondlady of The Hall of Inner Lights as a proof of recognised alliance.

OOC: Priestess: Rania Arowaven, Mage: Reineke Village Druid: Quil'telz'zt Weedgaderer. The water samples are in Reinike's inventory. A primary spell in mind: Detect Poison.

Edit: corrected a typo.

A tiefling with a Thayan accent, known as Malign, spoke to Cyrus of the Guild of the Arcane about the strange dreams. Cyrus described entering the dream of a tiefling and seeing blood, a "woman in white", and how the dream was in certain layers of the Abyss. Unfortunately, more details were lacking, because Cyrus said one who knew about events similar (five years past), a woman named Isabella, would not speak to him about those prior events. Malign was given the name Rania and told he would find this priestess at the Halls of Light.

Arriving at the Halls of Light, Malign sought out Rania. The tiefling asked Rania about the strange dreams as well, and she mentioned how she seen both the tiefling and aasimar "sides" of the dream. Aasimar saw cold winter lands. The woman in white was in both dreams. The suspicion was that the dreams were caused by devils, not demons as was previously thought.

Malign asked both Cyrus and Rania if they believed the dreams were connected to the blights at the farms, and neither believed the events were connected. With this knowledge, Malign was resolved to seek out more information, if possible, and discover the power behind the strange dreams.

Danny G'Louvre begins canvassing the area of the farmlands in Baldur's Gate going around to the nearby farms asking people about the blighted areas. Some of the typical questions include. Where they were happening. How often it was happening. When this blights were happening. He would offer assistance and small sums of gold to help the farmers out as well. Handing out bags of gold at 10 gold pieces a piece to each farmstead he happens upon that day. He would also mention that they should look for him if anything suspicious be spotted once he left.

Danny makes his way to some of the blighted areas and while there he would use two scrolls. One of detect magic and one of detect poison. After doing so he would collect samples of the blighted plants and soil as well as some water samples. Satisfied with his tests and samples he places the samples in a leather bag before walking away from the blighted areas.

Later that evening Danny in dark clothing would make his way back towards some of the areas near the farms that were not yet blighted and take post in a well secluded spot that overlooked the area so he could observe if anything or anybody would visit in the witching hours of the night when those that could see them were fast asleep.

Tonight, in the Halls of Inner Light, several came together.

A favored of Eldath, a druid, a follower of Sune, a Reader of Candlekeep, a faithful of Selune, a monk, and a new face to the area, along with the Moonlady of the Halls, all joined voices to conduct a cleansing and purification ritual for the waters of the local area, which seem to have been contaminated with the condition known as Filth Fever.
An infirm elf woman left the Halls accompanied by rather short man in hide armor. They carried a basket which left a scent trail of herbs behind them. After a brief conversation near the farmlands, the two placed four different herbs and a few drops of liquid in each well.

A noble of the Gate cloaked in gold might be seen to pay a visit to one local farmstead in particular, seeking to speak with the owner for a few moments; his demeanor warm and bent toward the charitable despite the air of exhaustion that follows in his wake.

A Lord in a flowing, golden cloak strides with clanking purpose through the wending streets of the Harbor District, bent on the direction of the Flaming Fist Headquarters. Steely determination fuels his gaze and he walks upright, booted tread heavy and swift on the cobbles. He disappears within the Castle for some time.

Upon reemergence, the man's direction takes a shift to the north - into the Palace District. He might be seen to run gloved fingers through his hair briefly and relaxing his expression into something far more diplomatic. Warmly, even, and with friendly words on his lips, he enmeshes himself among the other nobles and courtiers milling about and within the Duchal Palace.

A redhaired Selunite and a blonde member of the Radiant Heart ventured into the sewers earlier today. They did not remain down long, seeming to have had a specific destination in mind before entering. The woman looked like she had not slept the night before, and after emerging from the underground chamber they both headed back into the city, the palace district their destination.

After hearing the latest rumors the druid just stood at the campfire with a puzzled expression for a while. Then he packed his tent and left the farmlands, leaving it's fate in the hands of influential heroes.

Having done some investigations Danny covers himself in street grime old clothing and makes out to be a beggar of the Docks. Going about his panhandling routine daily from his advantageous position near a sewer entrance. What he is up to is anyone's guess.

A messenger is sent on from the Radiant Heart Auxiliary to the Headquarters of the Flaming Fist bright and early in the day, carrying a rolled parchment that's been stamped with the symbol of a heart within a glowing circle. The missive is presented to one of the Fist's on duty members and the name of its addressee is passed along in a murmur.

Two members of the Radiant Heart - Grand Knight Eldarian Al'maire and Chaplain Simon Atcharn - may have been seen alongside a member of the temple of Mystra - Paladin of the Mystic Fire Nezkreal Sezifear - in the last day within the city.

A common destination seemed to thread their paths together, this being the temple of the Broken God in Baldur's Gate where they congregated to offer wards in the spell of Magic Circle Against Evil throughout each of the rooms in the temple. The magic seemed powerful and extended into the long hours of the night to allow ease for the slumbering citizens. The Lathanderite and the blue-cowled monk also took it upon themselves to stand guard for the Mystran against any unwanted threats while they spread their goodwill and aid.

Words of comfort were also presented from Eldarian to sweep among those that yearned for refuge from the plaguing of certain dreams.

They might be spied for days going forward to tread there, offering the same protection and respite to the people in need.

Few days since the first acts of vandalism appeared on the property of Church of Mystra Halron makes his way to Sorcerous Sundries during daylight. Those that might catch him outside the church would note a faster pace than ususal and thoughtful expression evident on his face. Inside the store he converses with Halbazzer of the recent events a moment, before ordering an unsual amount of his usual supply of parchment and other materials for porpuse of research. Amount is evident to last a longer time.

The green robed wizard would make his way back to the temple to drop by his supply to the private quarters and again head outside. This time to enter the Blade and Stars Inn. There he would order a supply of food and drink from Hester the Innkeeper to be delivered to the temple next door. He would leave the inn with a bought crate of white wine and disappear to the depths of the temple.

After dark those with the ability to see the invisible and be present at the right time might catch the wizard taking one or more short routes around the property. He stops to inspect the walls and surroundings cloaked with his invisibility spell. Should he be companied by his brethren he would cast the concealing spell on them aswell. After the route he would disappear inside the temple and only emerge on pressing errand or business, but remain in the city or the outskirt for now.

As he walks swiftly down the streets the air about him is kicking wildly about stirring up the dust leaves and random bits of parchment that are strewn about the dirty city streets. His mind is set on a certain place in the Noble district the Shelf of Many Books. Each step hits the pavement with purpose until he comes upon the bookstore.

The door creaks open as a brief wash of air enters the store when Danny enters. He gives a small half smile best he can with so much on his mind. A brief conversation with the proprietress in which Danny explains he is looking for some books concerning knowledge on the Hells, Devils that reside there, the summoning, binding and banishing of devils. He also mentions he is looking for specific information on Mammon and Mephistopheles and their cults as well. Understanding the odd nature of his request Danny then promptly pays the store in gold bars however many she would request to keep this quiet for now.

In the late afternoon, Mi-Le, a bespectacled monk of the Old Order, takes a seat on the steps leading up the platform in the East Gate District. He sits quietly for a while, watching people pass by, noticing those who stop to pay attention, and exchanging pleasantries with those who greet him.

As the sun begins to set, the monk publicly addresses those who are present. His voice is gentle but clear, full of tranquil confidence.

"By now, many of you have perhaps heard of last month's graffiti on the temples: 'The Gods Have Failed.' Some of you who have experienced suffering recently might even agree with the message.

"You might know that as a monk of the Old Order, I do not worship the gods. The Old Order did worship a god once, in ancient times. But that god died long long ago, and so we had to fend for ourselves. So perhaps more than anyone, a monk of the Old Order can understand the sentiment behind the message 'The Gods Have Failed.' Sometimes it seems that way, doesn't it?

"So what's the alternative? If the gods have failed, what do we do? Well, my monastery teaches self-reliance. Ultimately, we are responsible for ourselves. No one can purify us or corrupt us except ourselves, our own choices. We, and we alone, determine what we allow to influence us. We can choose what we surround ourselves with, what we pay attention to and value. If one friend encourages us to do good deeds while another friend tells us to be wicked, only we can decide who we will listen to. So do we surround ourselves with good friends and positive influences? Or will we spend time with people who encourage our bad habits?

"My teacher once said that admirable friendship, admirable companionship, admirable camaraderie is the whole of the holy life. When a monk has admirable people as friends, companions, and comrades, he can be expected to develop and pursue the Way. So we must choose our friends wisely. With this in mind, I would encourage us all to take another look at the gods. As a monk of the Old Order, I cannot say that the gods are perfect and eternal; surely they are not. But a self-reliant person who chooses his influences wisely should consider the value of the gods. Because the gods can be our greatest teachers, our best friends, the finest examples of the values which we hold dear.

"Those of you who suffer daily, who wonder when your trials will end, look to Ilmater and His followers for an example of unyielding resilience. In Ilmater's temple you will find those who will share your burdens. Those who seek the strength to protect family and friends, look to Helm and His followers for the discipline and resolve you will need to stand against the cruelties of the world. Those who are heartbroken, seek Sune and learn about true selfless love from Her followers. Those who have had enough of the violence and hatred in the world, cast aside your weapons and seek Eldath in the silence of a peaceful glade.

"Think back to the people who have been true friends do you. You might find that a true friend does not try to stoke your fears and resentment. A true friend encourages your noble qualities and helps you become a better person.

"I offer these words for your contemplation. Go in peace, friends."

The monk stands and bows to anyone who is listening. He then departs quietly.
