New update happened on the 12th of October.
Of note, whips still incoming (as in, they're not available yet), fixed some crashes, some minor additions to the RIG loot system.

Updated chat!

- Colored emotes should now work in the language GUI
- You can use *'s in OOC chat without switching to emotes
- Improved code documentation
- Code is cleaner, more efficient, and should be extensible to add in-line language support

Recompiled the module for this! If problems arise, try rolling back module.IFO and recompiling yourself. Some scripts may not have compiled properly due to an error when compilation hit the crafting scripts.

Added an extra 4 tiles worth of space to the Uldoon Trail map. It was cutting off half of Greenest and I liked the pretty flowers to the south so now there's more Greenest and more flowers. Mind you, those buildings are still empty and hollow inside, much like me.

Un-shrank the Tradeway after realizing I had made it unplayable, stranding the people of Soubar to their ramshackle little anarchist town forever. That's on me, my bad. I also fixed a weird couch in Darkhold, turns out it was possessed by the last dude who worshipped Cyric and he wasn't happy. It's fine now though.

Level 1

1 New “pantry” area.
There are 4 shelf placeables here that use a new script.

2 New Tool area.
This small addition has some tools etc in it, and chest that uses a different script. The chest also has items.

3 Start of new areas – door in and door out
This door into the new area is locked and the key is required. The key is removed after the door opens. T

5 Sunken Room - entrance
There are 2 useable lights here.

6 Sunken Room - Corpse and Spilled Bag
There is one useable corpse.

There is a small sack called Spilled bag which generates gold.

7 Sunken Room - Open bag
A small loot bag as in 6, which generates gold.


Level 2

I have altered some of the corner and straights by using slightly different tiles, but other than that, there is only one small addition of a door and transition area to get to the sunken ruins area.

Fixed another Dalo Lorn chat bug. Because chat automatically eats the first "/", thinking an entry is a command, chat would require three "/"s to create OOC text at the beginning of a message. Now the chat script starts by thinking it's already seen a "/", which should remedy the issue. I hope.

Imagine me, sitting here, getting mad over a virtual couch that refuses to work. I am this couch's god, I brought this couch into existence. Yeah, well, it works now because I moved the coffee table half a centimetre forward.

I also adjusted a few maps that had a lot of wasted exterior space, resized them to save a bit of server memory, as well as completely taking out an area, but you'll never know which one I took out. (It was one that wasn't in use, don't worry.)

Updated these areas to reduce the treasure drops in the additions I made only. There is now only 1 extra treasure or gold (mainly gold) and the items for the final createable item. I have also copied and pasted a trap wp into the additional bits in the hope that they will spawn a trap. Didn't do monsters though as I don't know how the traps and monster spawns work. I also made the secret cave door in the_lions way gnollcaves1st only openable with the key (a standard smith's hammer) and the door next to the library in the_lions way gnollcaves2nd PLOT so it can;t be destroyed. This means that if the keys for these levels don't respawn, you can't get any further. Thanks to everyone who pointed out that I was being a little bit too generous in my treasure drops :)

Salmon has to say it, the guilt was giving me a haddock. I feel so gill-ty for it, but it all swam along so nicely at first. I'm sorry to tell you all, but bass-ically I filled the Greenest Creek with saltwater fish. Betta believe I had whaley good intentions. This isn't the plaice to pointy fin-gers, someone had to mussel in and fix the fishing. It's fixed now, my sole can rest easy. The fish-cious rumours were a-trout-cious and I'm hoping by coming clean, we avoid turtle disaster. This is my o-fish-al note to all of you, the guilt was krilling me.

Basically I fixed the salt water fish spawning in Greenest Fishing, it's all fresh water now.

Removed patrols from Candlekeep due to the frequency of horrible life-threatening events in the area. The girl scouts no longer have escorts to and from Candlekeep to sell their cookies, which nobody is happy about.

Also added extra NPCs to Greenest, which will most likely be my final round of updates for Greenest. The place is actually functional as an RP location now, so, my work here is done. The previously mentioned girl scouts now have a new base of operations and clients to hock their overpriced cookies on.

Added a brand new temple somewhere super secret, you'll never guess where it is.


It's Greenest, I added a proper Chauntea temple so the hamlet can actually pretend like it's relevant now. It has the two main requirements of a town; a place to pray one day a week, and a place to get wasted the other six. Anyway, it looks like Poison Ivy's wet dream in there, very green, very plant-y. Removed the spawns from the Soubar Bane Ruins. I had to get together a crack team of werecats to chase off the wererats, but then the werecats overran the place so I had to get werewolves-- then of course it was a whole thing with the werewolves and it was basically that song "The old lady who swallowed a fly". Considering how exceptionally well the caravans were received (hah), I added a big, huge, giant sign that states exactly where they make their wagons in the Eastern Farmlands.

In other news, the Rocky Creek wagonman had to be re-oriented and reminded of where his stops actually are. His route has since been corrected, though he has a lot of stories to tell of people he's met outside FAI, Kraak, Ulgoth's, and Beregost, he will not be returning there.

Northern Tradeway has been made into a 16x16 area as opposed to a 32x32. It's gonna be pretty jarring at first, the old barren wasteland full of rapid angry wolves now turned into a new barren wasteland that takes half the time to run through-- that being said I did keep the same amount of wolves so now they're just gonna be denser-- like, really thick with wolves.

Salmon has to say it, the guilt was giving me a haddock. I feel so gill-ty for it, but it all swam along so nicely at first. I'm sorry to tell you all, but bass-ically I filled the Greenest Creek with saltwater fish. Betta believe I had whaley good intentions. This isn't the plaice to pointy fin-gers, someone had to mussel in and fix the fishing. It's fixed now, my sole can rest easy. The fish-cious rumours were a-trout-cious and I'm hoping by coming clean, we avoid turtle disaster. This is my o-fish-al note to all of you, the guilt was krilling me.

Basically I fixed the salt water fish spawning in Greenest Fishing, it's all fresh water now.

It's possible some of them will be avaliable as potions icons through Appearance kit in the future, but no promises about that yet.

Added a temporary fix to the last door in the new orc caves until Xalto can add a better fix. I didn't wanna step on his groove too much, so the door will just remain unlocked after using the key as to avoid locking people in. Tweaked the balancing of the crab cave, turns out the crabs could put you in quite a pinch, and were quite shellfish when it came to guarding their loot. Made them a little more soft-shelled and put bells on them so they can't sneak attack anymore.

Replaced Greenest Interiors with Regional Town Interiors, this will be the master map for all of the interiors in any town/village/hamlet that isn't Baldur's Gate. This is to cut down on load time so we don't need to load multiple areas for several interior sets. It's like a toybox if instead of toys, you put in the homes of all the working class of the sword coast-- so yeah, not like a toybox at all actually. Whoops.

One final batch of bugfixes, or attempted bugfixes, featuring my arch-nemesis "every door on the server". This should be a closed shut problem-- that problem being the doors aren't automatically closing, but if it doesn't work I might just end up turning them into kindling and having an "open air" approach to buildings from now on.

Fixed a bit of post-update jank, cleaned off some crud, chipped off some gunk, and did my best to polish up a few otherwise minor issues. Nothing was particularly game breaking or anything but when crabs are barking at me and a Chauntea priest is telling me about Helm I tend to raise my eyebrows a little bit. All of that should be fixed now but I really can't say much about the barking crabs, that was just...that was a weird experience, not gonna lie.

Several map change ups so I'll go through them in order of least to most devastating.

Firstly, two UD maps that have never actually had working transitions have been :axe: from the server. Nobody will miss them because nobody has seen them without direct DM intervention.

Secondly, The Tarpits now link directly to west of varallas, cutting out NW of River entirely. The zone has very few mobs, and anywhere you need to get to via the map has other routes you can take, so it gets the :axe:

Thirdly, Misty Forest has been removed. The guildhall remains and the transition buried and out of sight to keep it's air of secrecy. This was another map that only served as a railroad to another area.

I apologize to those who had particular connections with these maps but as it stands we're crashing due to lack of memory all the time, and nobody wants to deal with that, least of all DMs who can spend hours setting up areas for events only to have them disappear in a crash.

Tl;dr I cut maps to save almost 80mb of server space which should help crashing issues a lot.

Attempted to fix a supposed walkmesh issue in Kraak. I'm not entirely sure what blocked the person who PM'd me that report, but it probably wasn't the walkmesh. That being said, I did move a few of them around in the hopes of making the area a little less confined for those dwarves who are as wide as they are tall.

Alright, it's in!

Why is it so big you ask? Three things:
  1. athornforyourheart has uploaded some sweet looking new armors and clothing!
  2. KOPOJIbPAKOB has given us great new loading screens!
  3. We are preparing the server split. The bulk of the download has now been done, so when we actually incorporate the server split, it'll be a minor download.
Why did it take so long, you ask?
Because the server doesn't like me.

Another compression, and loading screens hak lost additional 360 mb of weight! It has a sensible size now with loading screens weighing just as loading screens should.

Replaced all the loading screens files in the hak with compressed ones, resulting in a 200 mb less hak weight with absolutely no quality loss!

At long last, the loading screen project is complete, featuring 177 brand new transition screens in total! A new .hak file with them is uploaded, a little heavy, but worth it.

We are aware that new armor appearances aren't showing up in the app kit and a hotfix is in the works for this. It will be fixed tomorrow at earliest.
