Werewolves in the night have been spotted in great numbers in the Wood of Sharp Teeth.
They search --- Looking for something, some tavern talk suggests some one. By night packs prowl in droves, their howls piercing the silence. By morning they have vanished. Only one thing remains consistent among all the tales the frightened adventurers speak: Whatever it is they are searching for, it is clear that they are still searching for it...

Hordes of werewolves descended upon the Sharp Teeth woods and were slain by the dozens.
A wild call went out that all within the vicinity of the forest could hear. The remaining werewolves fled into the woods, adventurers on their heels. The lycanthropes led them to a large clearing, where only a girl in the midst of many could be seen. The werewolves attacked the adventurers without hesitation. The girl was saved.

Upon returning to the temple of Wisdom her true heritage was learned. The girl was a werewolf, a follower of the deity Selune. The adventurers rented a room for her at Bentley's accommodations, only for her to be snatched away by one of their own number. The girl still remains missing, or worse still, dead.

Prowling werewolves still roam the Sharp Teeth woods in large numbers. The occasional traveller warns those who are passing by the woods not to travel too closely to the forest's border for fear of ferocious werewolf attacks, especially those who intend to travel by night. Hermits and others who once called the forests their home speak of their homesteads and independent dwellings being attacked and the residents driven out by the werewolves overwhelming and seemingly organized ferocity.

A young man speaks to a few patrons of Bentleys while stopping in for supplies and hearing about recent events.

"Oh I know what it's all about. It's the young woman we brung into Bentleys wifes temple a bit back. She's a werewolf an' they been keepin' her locked up secret inside the inn ever since. Just imagine if the folk knew there was a werewolf under lock 'n key in the Friendly Arm. Lass has this moonstone amulet that one of the bunch tried takin' for his own. He uhhh....well he died, even as he was holdin' it out ta give back. Thing was, he was sorta tauntin' so...yea, we figured he deserved what he got. What'd he get? Oh just murdered to High Hell from this elf.

See what came was howls from Sharptooth way. I was headed that way for mushrooms. Seen the dark wolf folk an' skirted 'em. That was when I seen this group of folk. Couple were deaders an' I warned 'em what I seen on the far side o' the hill. The ones killed got brought back by prayers but the werefolk started in comin' again. One even spoke sayin' the woods were theirs an' they was takin' what was theirs back.

Long story short we ended up illin' most an' drivin' the others off. Follwed the livin' ones to find their roost when we come on a big gatherin'. Whole mess of the bastards gathered 'roun'. So someone went in an' stirred 'em up o' course. Hard fightin' but killed every last one. In the after was when we found 'er lyin' there. Young lass, maybe 17 summers in 'er with this amulet with a moonstone in it. Fella tried takin' it for himself, got done in real bad. This woman....think maybe she was elvish blood, she said the lass was a pure one, born by blood. Acouple of us din't know what to do, one asked if we oughta off 'er, which kind of...ya know, made sense since we likely just murdered everyone she ever loved or knew. Maybe just a bit of a reason to hold a tiny grudge, right?

Anyway, some elf starts barkin' an' squealin' about he got issues with anger, guess he don't mind emptyin' his purse in public *laughs a bit* but anyway, this woman tells us we oughta take 'er to a temple so we took her to Garls at The Arm. She says to get a room for 'er an' not tell no one cause...you know, business. Folk don't like sleepin' next to possibly murderous werewolves an' that. Who'd guess, right? Ha. Well the woman, she says she'll stay with 'er an' watch 'er. I guess that makes everythin' good an' plumb.

So yea, that's the short of it. My guess? The folk that know this lass, they want their own back, not just the wood but their gal. Just ask Bentley or his wife. Soon 's their faces colour hearin' ya know there's a werewolf in the inn, take whatever bribe they offer to shut ya up."

Beneath muted fern green hood, a faint chuckle as electrum coins jingle down to him for the tale,
"Adventurers do get up to the strangest things."

Her face keeps shaded by cowl, cloak wrapped about shoulders with only heavily tanned, almost golden, fingertips showing. Relaxing in posture, nodding on, or shaking head wherever his tale suggests best, on cue.

"Just how...many, have you told this tale to?" Spoken off hand, casual as if bringing up the weather.

"Oh maybe..."the young man raises his head looking upward in thought for a second. " Maybe 10. Well maybe a few more. But folk up in Baldurs just balked about it for the most part. Few was interested but " as he shrugs "most folk said The Arm folk is strange anyway. No nevermin' ta me though. Cheap supplies an' merchants that buy anythin' ya bring in plus Harry's brotha got his kip set up too. Werewolf in the belfry or not, who cares. But best folk is warned an' don't need it, rather than not warned an' did. I figure them werewolves is gonna come an' kill at least a few innocents when they do. I'd be a touch angry if no one warned me. Treat others as ya'd have, righ'?"

With that he gives her a wink and a smile, his supplies now packed before he turns and makes for the interior for free drinks.

Gently nods, waving a hand and signalling the lad's drinks this night to be placed on the stranger's tab.

"Your altruistic perspective is admirable indeed." Cover lips with a lilting giggle in deep alto pitch.

She walks with him to share in drinks and dotes on his accomplishments the night few. Ordering more, and still more refills for the intrepid soul.

The forest is filled by an acrid stench as the bodies of dozens of werewolves are piled up into a massive funeral pyre and burned. When the fire burns itself out ravens fly in to peck at the fire-clensed remains. Nearby trampled earth, blood and fur are the only signs of the great battle that was fought under the moonlight there. Selunite and Malarite werewolves clashed, someone had to be the victor...

Squire Lea from the Order of the Silver Rose finds the retched pile and probes the remains for clues. Clearly this was a battle between these creatures. Perhaps Lady Gina, a favored of Selune, will understand what happened here.

Practised and laymen astrologers alike will notice the waxing gibbous moon rise into the heavens, as the month of Mirtul draws to a close. The Full Moon is not far off.

Even more werewolves were found by passing adventurers battling it out between themselves in the Sharp Teeth Woods, and were aided by the adventurers. The grateful Selune victors thanked the adventurers who aided them, delivering the warning of impending danger on the rise of the next Full Moon.

In the days following the last Full Moon talk of the two battles that shook the depths of the Sharp Teeth woods circulate in every inn and tavern like wildfire, up and down the Coast. When asked about what happened in the woods some drunks speak of adventurers fighting werewolves. Others may speak of the werewolves fighting werewolves. More still will lay fanciful tales of adventurers fighting other adventurers. Whatever the real case may be these tales of the epic events which occured on the Full Moon will circulate for some time to come.

The gnome druid, Uranfen, enters the Sharp Teeth and travels in the form of a badger into the depth of the forest. At various places, he digs holes to put gems in as a prayer to his god, Segojan Earthcaller, before casting a spell of Commune with Nature. He attempts to learn anything of the current number of werewolves in the Sharp Teeth.
