Add invocations for good/fey warlocks

I've sent this along to 1 DM but i'll put it up for more people to see...

It would be nice if you added invocs or changed existing invocs to allow good/fey warlocks to use some *evil* invocations.

Something along the lines of:
lvl 2 invoc summon the dead...instead of summoning only skeletons maybe add choice to summon pixie or other lesser fey creature
lvl 3 invoc turn into a hellhound...instead let us turn into a moon dog/blink dog or some other equivalent?
lvl 3 invoc summon great shades...instead again let us also summon some fey/greater fey of 16 HD equivalent?

without these additions i dont see myself much using these..and it is a shame for they are pretty powerful invocations.

thank you!

Imo, this could be changed with really minimal effort on the staff (certainly less effort than creating new spells):

1) Add in Lesser Planar Binding as a level 2 invocation. Now you've got planar-thematic summons (and warlocks are very planar themed) for all the pacts.

2) Change hellspawned grace to polymorph self. Add in a hellhound shape to polymorph self if we want to. Now we have multiple shapes for multiple pacts again.

3) This one is the only one that really would need a custom spell. Maybe a druid (level 8)/warlock (tier 3) spell that summons 3d2-2 aka 3-4 (dryads [hybrid casting+melee], pixies [pure casting], and/or Fomorians [pure melee]) fey creatures. Like Army of Dead, the creatures conjured could be chosen at random, picked from the list in parentheses. It could use the same scaling as Army of Dead, with each creature being HD 15 (the first creature being HD 16). Obviously, spell focus conjuration would scale it just like Army of Dead with necromancy.

The script could be (presumably) copied from Army of Dead, the creatures would just need to be replaced with a mix of custom creatures.

Though, the only question is who would do this?

http://molivero.com/dndtools/USRD/srd/m ... tions.html <= Some list with Warlock Invocations

Least Invocation:
Summon Swarm - You summon a swarm of bats, rats, or spiders.

Lesser Invocations
:
Spider-Shape - you become a spider and we could use the in game spell we already have.

bump!!

also it would be nice if you could do the same with the hellfire warlock prestige....make a good equivalent(like feywild warlock for the name or something) and switch all of the *evil* powers to *good* equivalents....

looking at most builds for epic warlocks on the internet all i find is people doing warlock/hellfire warlock or warlock/blackguard but since i'm a good aligned fey warlock, i can't use those...

please give us more flavor/choices for our powers! thank you!! :D

Does anyone know of any warlock prcs in lore that are both interesting and possible to implement in nwn2? A fey variant in opposition to hellfire would be nice, but is not the only possibility. Otherwise they would have to be invented from scratch.
As for invocations, I am working on a new one which is somewhat fey-themed. But no promises ;)

Some info of Fey Bloodlines...which could information altered to Warlock invocations:

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-cl ... -bloodline

Warlocks, Part 2: Fey

http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp? ... c/20070328

Not all necessarily 3.5e source material!

I'd keep away from non 3.5 sources, personally, but that's just me. When you get into random WotC articles is when things get very weird and unreasonable.

For warlock PRCs, I have this to offer: http://dnd.arkalseif.info/classes/enlig ... index.html

i could not read the thread as the title is ridiculous. But if there are good warlocks and good assassins, then can team evil get a full pali spellbook.

yep.. its a two for one deal and the debt has grown too great on team good. Time to pay up and make BG a 30 level base with full pali spellbook.

thanks
have fun out there

thank you for your constructive input..

but technically...i agree with you...
blackguards are not evil paladins...there should be a class for loyal evil paladins of *insert evil god*

Given QC basically says there is only one build for a Cha lock.. And its a blackguard build.. These are good aligned blaster locks?

Like they douse opps in acid or negative energy out of the goodness of their hearts?

Seems to me even if you're running around with a bunch of Dryads or butterflies, if your reason to exist is to BLAST youre probably not a good guy...

Evil aligned characters have some of the most powerful PRCs and spell combinations, whereas spellcasting for good aligned characters is underwhelming. Regardless, if you want to suggest that it's best to do so in another thread that will pertain to that matter.

Blackguards are literally evil variant of a paladin. Whereas Paladins are champions of Good and, to lesser extent, Law- Blackguards are quite literally exemplars and champions of Evil. It's in their very class description. Which is one of the reasons why fallen paladins that exchange their paladin levels for Blackguard ones are really strong in PnP games of D&D 3.0/3.5.

That's not right. In D&D and especially FR you can totally be a good aligned character that devotes his time to honing their skill to kill other living beings and use that to commit "slaughter" of evil aligned creatures/people. And you will be good aligned, as it is taking part in fight of Good versus Evil, which is very much an actual, cosmical war which pours down onto mortals.

Killing is not evil in FR at all. The alignment of your killing act depends on whom you kill and sometimes why you kill. A good aligned Warlock can -totally- use their blasting powers to end lives of evil creatures and he/she will remain good.

As for not-really-evil invocations for warlocks... Well, I have been so far unsuccessful in finding already existing invocations in D&D which aren't evil/dark themed, however I found this: https://dndtools.net/classes/wild-soul/ It looks very fey for dem feylocks, though I'm not sure if devs will want to create even more PRCs.

Fey are heavily intertwined with nature, and Acid is easy to theme as being expected for a nature-type to wield, given that it's the energy type associated with elemental Earth. The Fire and Cold blasts are simple to theme as well -- the Seelie Court is associated with Summer, and so Fire is in-theme, and the Unseelie Court is associated with Winter, and so the Cold blast is in-theme.

I guess all I'm saying is, just because the ability is mechanically called Hellrime Blast, doesn't mean it ~has~ to draw from Cania, the eighth layer of Baator, in-universe. It could just as easily draw from the Unseelie Court in Pandaemonium for a feylock, or from the Quasielemental Plane of Ice for some warlock who might be pacted to a genie or something. Any powerful extraplanar creature can grant Warlock pacts. They're not exclusively limited to Fey and Outer Planars.

Actually, a genie-pacted Warlock sounds like a lot of fun. Someone who Wished for power from a genie in a lamp and got more than they bargained for. XD
