Remove Dispel Favoritism!

For too long dispels have chosen sides and displayed player favoritism! Why should dispels favor the player over their weapon and other equipment?

Dispels should be agnostic and dispel everything freely and without prejudice. As well as dispelling all properties on a PC, dispel should remove weapon properties such as Greater Magical Weapon and armor/shield properties such as Magic Vestments and more!

If the object that you target is a magic item, you make a dispel check against the item's caster level. If you succeed, all the item's magical properties are suppressed for 1d4 rounds, after which the item recovers on its own. A suppressed item becomes nonmagical for the duration of the effect. An interdimensional interface (such as a bag of holding) is temporarily closed. A magic item's physical properties are unchanged: A suppressed magic sword is still a sword (a masterwork sword, in fact). Artifacts and deities are unaffected by mortal magic such as this.
A 1d4 round suppression for magic on Items would be very interesting!

A temporary dispel of permanent magic on items sounds like a recipe for disaster in case of crashes as one would have to really remove the item properties for a given duration then give those back so that much is not happening (at least I can't see another, less risky way to do this).

Couldn't you take the items properties, then apply the inverse of every property which would be appropriate for a duration? Just like how frost weapon applies a damage bonus to a weapon non-permanently but instead apply a -damage bonus.

Yeah I had the same idea but not every property has a reverse one.
