Although what I would really like is to see more quests added that are one-time only. Especially in the epic levels.
Add a quest in Nashkel to bring back the head of the Frost Giant king. Have it be a one-time only quest that rewards like 5,000 experience.

And similar for other areas.

Less repetitive stuff. More big one-time rewards.
I love that idea! The amount might be an over-kill, but the idea behind it sounds awesome. It would also encourage players to get out of the main city, since there are many high CR locations further away.

A Quest Map!
1 quest to send you to Friendly Arms
1 to send you to Beregost (already in place)
1 to send you to Nashkel
1 to send you to Roaringshore
1 to send you to Kraak Helzak
1 to send you to Candlekeep
Etc. All hubs.

This is for new players to find all the well known hubs of the server, you can make them learn the history of each place as you do it.

Dungeon Quests!
1-2 Non-repeatable Quests per Dungeon
2-3 Non-repeatable Quests per Epic Dungeon

Set conditions requiring a party, or a Jack of All Trades to complete some of these quests, but not all of them to support group play. Add skill checks, (disable device, Spellcraft, Knowledge skills)

A Bounty Board!
Hub for Repeatable Quests, spawning special mobs and/or encounters.

Perfect quests for Powerbuilders and RPers alike. A lot of work would need to be done to create custom monsters, so make them generic enough so that DMs could use them in events.

What about a change to in game quest rewards?

For example...a quest that makes you visit every shrine along the roads....or for example the one someone suggested to go to towns etc. Rather than gold xp, grants a feat giving +5% movement when within those zones called 'well travelled'? Don't know if it's mechanically feasible, just an idea. Or a pair of boots or something. I dunno lol.

The question is a bit open ended, which is good. I think more of what we already have is great. I think new ideas with alternate end rewards also feasible and welcome.

A research assistant needs help with researching and needs a sample of a cave slime. Easy repeatable Slayer quest. Something is happening to the bats. A ranger needs help keeping roads safer along the trade way and those pesky bandits keep waylaying innocent bystanders (he is currently nursing an injury until he can get back to it he needs adventurers). A million ideas. Should I list them here?

Please make at least one nature quest that requires either survival, lore:nature etc. There are at least three easy quests that druids/rangers cannot do as they upset the balance.

Looks like I'm a little late to this party, but it was linked in another thread that I had been active on.

Also, bare with me, I just woke up. So I hope my brain is working lol.

So I'm 35 now. Just turned. I have been playing games since I was a kid, and pen and paper roleplaying since I was 12.
I have been on and off this server since it's conception.

I want to try to throw in my 2 cents without over informating, or overdoing it. So here goes.

I think there should be more quests, even repeatable. Perhaps not every quest. For example: There's a quest in the underdark you can repeat to get beetle pinchers. Who knows how many beeltes I've killed over the years, xD But the quest makes sense every time. It doesn't break immersion. Because the wizard always needs more beetle pincers. Why? Well because he's using them of course. xD The same way a bakery needs flour each day, and a farmer needs to farm his land.

Perhaps even adding some sort of professions to the world somehow. Even have certain things player ran and traded. Such as an auction house, but you could purchase food ingredients. Even tradable with the underdark. It could also add an element for those who have max level characters they still want to rp on more too. Would add rp immersion just by existing.

Bounty quests? They could even have random modifiers. But this creature or that creature needs to be hunted. They have been plaguing blah blah area, and need their numbers taken down.

Non-combat quests. This wizard needs you to deliver said note to this city/person/area.
Escort quests, surely merchants need escorting on those dangerous roads to trade right? (Also sounds like it could be repeatable without breaking-immersion since that seems to be the biggest worry.)

Class specific quests, or even class type. Like druids/rangers/shaman types could need to cleanse tainted areas in the underdark and surface.

Also certain events. Like a renaissance festival of sorts for characters to come together and compete for prizes. (Nothing in recent times made me sadder than when they stopped supporting rdr2 and didn't even think of adding rodeos. xD)

Rulers of areas could provide certain weekly/daily quests for those who wanted some of those added. They could be randomized as well. (Take out this boss, or this mini-boss.) Those could be added with random modifiers, or changed manually on certain server resets.

Professions, things you can do such as. Fishing, mining, farming, perhaps add character housing with limited customization through props or something of the like. You could have someone work for the locale fisherman and make smaller amounts of gold, even have it contributed to skills, but then I suppose a lot of people would need rcr again. :-S

There's so many options, and all viable, I think.

Saw this post and even tho its old sorta, and because something I have really been thinking about...yes more quests not too much but im not really gonna focus on what type, but I do want to point out the "Wheres". And will explain my reasoning.

Surface:
Soubar needs at least 1 more.

Dwarf Kingdom area 1-2

Roaringshore maybe 1-2 (and no , not because im being bias lol. )

Corm Orp 1-2,

Neskhal could do with 1 more.

Gullykin could do with 1-2.

Both Elven Places 1-2. ((Not necessary within those settlements, maybe something just close by))

Candlekeep 1-2.

Northern Orc Village ((I dont know if there is any if yes then nvm if no then 2))

Upperdark:
If there isn't any then yes 2-3 Not a UD player so I really cant give a good opinion on it, will leave it for UD players.

Upperdark:
I cant really say , dont even know how much quest currently there is, will leave that for UD players to comment on.

My Reasoning/Opinion:

In any given MMO, theres quests, grinds, looting, and some sort of farming. And with the variety of players , each has their own preference , some simply like doing it all, some on this server prefer to simply RP XP instead. But my main point on the areas is this..

1. Promote potential RP in quiet or dead areas- Think of places like Corm Orp, no player goes there for any reason since after the Zent Vs Alliance war. Before there was a merchant shop decent enough that some did go there for. If there was 1-2 quests then there's the chance players might stumble upon each other. They can be simple quests, and nothing too taxing to create. A short delivery, maybe some form of bounty etc.

2. Main Starting area like Soubar for an example really lacks. Ghosts Elf Skinner Orc wont be going to BG to talk to the Flaming Fist Captain to bring back an Orc head. Thats off putting to theme and rp, immerse breaking in my opinion. And he'd likely get KOS in the City if not in the Farmlands. I'm sure the Orc would prefer to go bring back Elf ears from someplace near the Orc village.

3. To the hardcore rpers that stick to their zones. Some players lets say an Elf, wont dare go to Soubar or any reason. Thats what 2-3 quest they cant let themselves do. But maybe they can go out into the Sharptooth Woods to bring back Orc Tusks in replacement. Such a quest helps promote their even Rp also.

Not sure how many scripters the server has, and it's likely to be a bit of work. But this is just my own opinion and input. Dead maps just hurts my feelings, and theres a lot of nice maps on our server.
