*For the last tenday, messenger boys and girls have been running back and forth between one of the residences in the East Gate district and Temples, Orders and properties belonging to different factions carrying letters with a wax seal showing three single letters: "HoV"

If asked what is this commotion about they would only mention some big fundraising festival coming up soon and that they have been paid very well for delivering those letters.*

Michael spends his volunteer time amongst the farmlands, but upon hearing of the missing pets, or stricken animals, he spends his free time not spent int his volunteer work attempting to dig a little deeper into the matter. Going so far as trying to catch one of those sickly, wild animals or rats. And trying to treat any domesticated animal he can.

*For the next few days, any adventurers heading into the Sharptooth Woods would see a Wood Elf woman running around constantly. If they decided to look closely, they would see she is in the midst of planting seeds of the same trees that inhabit the woods. She spends a good half hour on every single seedling, and hums quietly and happily when she is not interrupted by orcs. After they were patted into the ground she would water them and with a happy smile, she would move to the next random spot to plant more seeds.

Gradually Ameris' time is refocusing towards the orphans, apparently under instruction from his superiors in the temple. He maintains, however his surgeries in the Infirmary, his home visits in the East Gate district and, when he has the time, visits into the docks - although it must be said his time is pressured and these are much more intermittent than they were during the immediate aftermath of the siege.

Rumors spread of an expedition under the command of Sir Clint James set forth into the Trollclaws. It is also rumored he was accompanied by some of the finest rangers known in the area.

Kory can be seen working to the point of breaking at times helping with the funeral pyres daily. Gathering bodies up and giving last rights to see them off into the realm of their god. As sweat and grime stick to him the look of compassion on his face is unmistakable. Where once he saw fields of flowers and wheat there were now only bodies. The fires and smoke thick and the smell less than desirable. Momentarily he looks up to the skies hoping no more is to come but he knows this may only be the beginning for a long hard year yet again. Shaking his head he goes back to his work solemnly and with purpose.

Michael and Rain return to their volunteer time working with the farms on the outlying lands of Baldur's Gate. This time, armed with a wand against disease, they spend a large amount of time inspecting and checking on the farm animals that were infected by the plagued rats, and using the wand where appropriate.

Luke spends much of the evening in Pathfinder Hall yesterday, speaking with Telia. Among the conversation was the progress she was making for arrangements for the orphans. The topic of additional supplies comes up and she asks him to try to secure writing and art supplies to help entertain and teach the children as well as books to help them learn to read.

Luke would return to the Darius Holding Companies offices in the Merchant League and start searching for suppliers for such things to buy in relative bulk quantity, given the sheer number of orphans. He would also check on the progress of his other orders, seeing if any letters have returned from his inquiries of extra bed bunks or sleeping mats, linins, clothes and toys. He would also leave word with his family to keep an eye open for any potential leads.

It is rumored that the Elder Cricle is very active in the last tendays. Vendor Xon and some of his Foresters of the Gate have been seen marking trees all around Baldur's Gate. Most of the marked trees already look dead.

And there are some other activities, too.......

- Where logging was active
- Where hunting was active
- Where large groups of animals are located
- The past movements of the undead

The purpose of those patrols is to gather new intelligence about the status of the forests, the animal and plant life and the damage caused by the undead.

After some time and much work several of the dwarves were even able to return to their duties. A great many however remain recuperating in the temple. Wendy volunteered to stay for several days as they convalesce and Maxwell granted her stay within the cities barracks.

Farmland:
Hidden: show
Omar spends some of his time roaming around the farmlands, helping where he can. He would seek out remaining bits of plague within any live-stock and farm vermin, doing what he can to catch and cure them. Additionally, Omar would pray to the Waterlord to offer rain to cleanse the earth of its corruption, and allow it to be free to prosper.

"Waterlord, this lowly servant begs of you for your assistance. This town, this city's lands dance along the borders of your body and are more influenced by it than most land-dwellers. They live and breath off your land. Please, allow this land which so humbly touches your divine body to be purified and allow it to prosper and be cleaned of the corruption that has so recently tainted it. Allow them to see your miracle, and know your power to make what was once filthy pure once more. Purity by water will set this land free."

Omar murmurs this prayer, and occasionally conjures forth water to rain upon the farmlands to help channel his prayer, and to make an effort to cleanse the land.
Docks:
Hidden: show
Omar also spends another portion of his time in the docks district, speaking with the citizens who are still infected with the plague. He actively encourages them to give offerings to the Waterlord, Istishia, and in exchange he would assure them that the water of the docks would cleanse them of any linger impurities. He would, if any of the inhabitants are willing, demonstrate the Waterlord's power by casting spells such as Restoration, Rejuvenation Cocoon, and Remove Disease to the effect of healing any willing participant's ailments in the docks.

"Waterlord, this humble servant sends you this pleading. Please, allow these people who touch your divine body every day, who are citizens of your wondrous nature to be purified of the wretched plague that has infected their way of life. Please, purify them and allow them to see your strength here, in their time of need. Purity by water will set this land free."

He would murmur this prayer over any willing applicants as he casts his spell, and he would encourage offerings of gems, pearls, clothing, art, and even coin be sunk into the pier as a dedication to Istishia, the Waterlord.

A public health warning is put out to Baldurians to be cautious about any interactions with any lingering rabid animals or blight affected soil or crops left over from the siege of Baldur's Gate in its Farmlands. There is no threat of plague or contagious disease it is warned, just possible wounding or poisoning. Further, the threat has receded since the beginning of the year and after further adventure efforts at eradication, may be null soon.

All around Baldur's Gate people would notice bulletins pinned to the walls and boards.

"People of Baldur's Gate

we ask for your help. The Elder Circle will perform a ritual to clean the farmlands around the town from the remains of the undead plaque. Any cleric, ranger, paladin or druid can be of great help to remove disease from the soil with divine or natural energy. Everyone else and especially the farmers are welcome to help with the work that has to been done to clean the land. That will be removing parts of tainted soil, burnig down tainted wood and prepare the cleaned soil for the sowing.

We will meet at the end of this Tenday.

Nature guides you

Vendor Xon, High Ranger of the Elder Circle"

A dwarven caravan consisting of no less than eight dwarves, bearing the banner of Kraak Helzak, arrived from the north today. They met with a man who introduced himself as Trenton Leichhardt, chief structural engineer of Baldur's Gate, and the group of them made their way into the palace district. After spending some time in the Helm & Cloak in private discussion, the dwarves were given a thorough tour of the damaged portions of the city, especially the northern wall and the Eastern Gate. The dwarves then went to spend the rest of their time having their fill of amber swill in the local taverns.
