Soon, however, after introductions Eldarian's conversation becomes serious as he speaks on the Black Orc horde that had attacked a caravan on the Northern Tradeway that he had witnessed. He would filter in that there was a camp of many of The Black Orcs there, too many to count, and he would warn that perhaps the trade routes should be alternated for the time being and secured so other travelers do not meet the same fate.

When Eldarian moves into the palace he would start up conversation with the Neverwinter and Waterdeep Ambassador as well, starting first with introductions and casual conversation before delving into the information on the attacked caravan on the Northern Tradeway and suggestion alternating trade routes for the time being.

After he is finished speaking with these people of import he moves to the Receptionist and speaks to him of the same manner as previously discussed with others as well as handing over a detailed report discussing the attack and those involved in the aftermath. He tells the man that he trusts him to get the report and warning to the correct sources that would be able to alternate the trade routes and perhaps save merchant coin.

It can be noticed that in the last few days that Greil has been seen speaking with various merchants about acquiring an order weapons and armors for a small force. As well as speaking with the local villagers about the recent appearance of Black Orcs on the tradeway near Soubar and Ebon Blade

Rumors spread of an altercation on coast south of Candlekeep, it is not known who was involved, but it appears some sailors were unloading crates and a fight broke out between them and a group of adventurers. The sailors were defeated and later, a wagon from Candlekeep was seen loading up the crates and taking them back to the great library.

Rumors spread of a group departing the Temple of Gond in Baldur's Gate with a member of the Dippledop Research Initiative. Seems the gnomish nobles from Lantan are getting business underway.

A group of humans seem to have setup camp by the Skull Gorge, right above the River Reaching. Some twenty odd tents and twice as many horses dot the highest point above the Gorge.

Two men could have been spotted approaching the camp, one wearing leathers, his face shrouded by a mask, the other clad in a dark-tinted plate, an eye patch covering his right eye. After a lengthy exchange with what seemed to be the leader of the camp, one of his followers, hugging a fancy looking crossbow, stepped forward and spoke up. Several moments later the one-eyed man approached the crossbowman, eyeing him head to toe. Suddenly, ghastly features formed on the visitor's face as he drew his blade in one swift motion and severed the head of the man holding the crossbow. As the limp body hit the ground, the man holding a blood-covered blade swept the crowd with his gaze, none of them showing the desire to challenge him. The two visitors departed, while the remaining men gathered over their dead comrade.

Moments later a group of eight riders approached the camp, one of them dismounting and arguing with the apparent leader. After plenty of shouting, the eight riders re-mounted and rode away. Sounds of battle could have been heard as the eight riders passed a huge boulder. Rain of arrows dismounted one of them, while another one rode straight into the boulder, his horse rustled by a sudden wall of fire forming in front of him. The rest charged into a group of five, two women, two men and a pale creature with feminine features. The remaining riders were cut down swiftly and efficiently, leaving a gruesome scene. The group approached the lone survivor who was lucky enough to ride straight into the boulder before the battle began...

Ten Outriders approached the main gates of Darkhold, bringing several horses with them, carrying seven dead bodies. One of the Outriders dragged a tied man through the courtyard as they entered the fortress.

Darkhold and Corm Orp

It is said that bandit activity against Zhentarim caravans in the vicinity of Darkhold has seen a significant decrease as of late, whereas against other travelers there has seemed to be a significant increase. Some wonder if this may be related to a man dragged behind Outrider horse to Darkhold in the past few days.

Black Orcs

It is rumored that some adventurers have sought trouble in a Black Orc frequented area between Soubar and Triel. Why or what the consequences of this may turn out to be remain to be seen. It is said that the Ebon Blades in the meantime have started initiatives to increase security in the Soubar area against Black Orc incursions. It is also said that some may have seen some adventurers return from the area with a passed out and injured looking orc carried with them.

Black Orc Menace

Unexpected Prisoner.
Two elves approached a compound, one elf carrying a Black Orc on the shoulder that was heavily injured but with herbs seeming to have stanched the bleeding. They were met by a human in armor, who greeted their arrival. "Ah there you are." Both elves returned the gesture. The female one spoke, turning towards the Orc being carried by the male. "It was not our intent, but it seems we have a prisoner. I hope you could indulge us with a cell" the woman asked the human. "We have one that is vacant at the moment and can be used. It is just this way follow me." She nodded gratefully "It would be very helpful."

Disappearing into the compound, the three entered deep, walking along the halls where they finally met a man named Pharaxes. Each paid their respect with a dip of their heads. "The cells are just this way" the human leading the people inside said. With a key, the cell was opened and the squeeking sound of metal was heard filling the chamber. The male elf carried the unconcious orc inside. "The orc is unconcious from severe bloodloss, but it may yet survive" The female explained. "Do you wish me to heal the thing or let fate take its course for now?" "Hopefully until we can arrange for it to be questioned. If you dont mind healing it, if it dies before we question it we have brought here for nothing" The male elf answered, with the female's ones agreement. "I figured as much. Well lets see." The man mutters a prayer and uses a greater restoration spell on the injured orc. "That should do the job."

The elves were grateful for the assistance, and warned them of the danger the creature posed. "Well there is but one way out of this place and Pharaxxes guards it. I will keep guard as well then until you are finished with the prisoner." Late introductions were given, now with the orc bound and locked in the cell. Arrangements had to be made for questioning to begin, those who would be given the opportunity would have to be told. "At your leisure. Hunters will provide whatever you need. This dusty old place sees little use with only old Pharaxxes and myself here."

They met with another few visitors waiting outside the compound, but the Black Orc remains bound, alive and secured in the cell. Guarded by one or the two, Pharaxxes and Koryeneer, who are the wardens asked for permission to enter.

The Black Orc yet unconcious, unaware of what has happened. He may wake soon.

Assembly.
Elyssa went about the coast finding those involved with the interrogation, having them assemble at the compound of the Hunters. She would wait for those to arrive she had called for, or otherwise call in from different allies. Would Koryneer or Pharaxxes be outside to meet with them, after she had made a Sending to Koryneer, she would wait along side him.

A group of Elves with representatives from both elven communities discuss the matter of the Black Orcs, at the elven village in Misty Forest. All information is shared amongst them and plans on how to proceed are made.

There is rumor of odd earth dug holes appearing throughout the wilds of the northern Western Heartlands as of late. If one was to peer inside, they might find random dead animal parts, gold, and garbage.

A hin carrying a seemingly light back over his shoulder, is seen heading out of Soubar onto the the Northern Trade way, after which his tracks would disappear for the untrained eye. He would instantly head southeast, ignoring the road and going off-road. At arrival of a certain pathway surronded by boulders, he would search for a good spot. Finally finding an acceptable spot, he would set down his bag to his left and watch the pathway. When the dark arrives he would read from a scroll, granting him sight in the dark. Occasiongly he would chew on a piece of bread, and drink from his wineskin.

"Ain't going in there again..", he thinks to himself.

Having brought supplies for appromaxtively two days, he would remain with his eyes on the pathway, until the supplies run out. A tired hin would then head back to Soubar to report his findings to the captain.

An orc raid on the Northern Trade way left a number of fatalities. Rumours spread in Soubar about increasing Black Orc activity in the area south of their settlement and it is causing angst amongst the merchants to no end.

Other rumours spread of a group of three or four adventurers who managed to negotiate some kind of deal with the orcs about the release of some of the captives. It was reported that one captive was slain during the diplomacy.

Mac wrote:A number of adventures could be seen in the dock wards. One was a ragged looking dwarf, also a golden haired elf lass, there was a gnome in a blue robe and two Hin that were for a while accompanied by a red wizard. They talked with the local beggars and street vendors, paying special attention to a human child. At times, passersby's may have heard the dwarf ranting about some one called "The Eye". In the end, the group was chased out of the docks after the dwarf was attacked by an irate half-elven woman. One of the Hin incapacitated her with a spell of holding allowing the dwarf to escape. The elven lass remained to talk to the woman after the spell wore off. The rest of the group may have been seen making a run for the east gate district.
DM Arrakeen wrote:In addition, crude drawings representing an eye have been spotted here and there in the dock district. Most of them are done with chalk, charcoal or mud so they disappear every time a stronger rainfall happens.

One or two of such drawings could be found in the east gate district. Oddly enough these were drawn with some sticky, red and strawberry scented substance.

Rumor has it that these symbols are connected to something. Some say it's because a girl has gone missing others that it's just another of these childish games street kids like to come up with. There are also those that claim it's a simple act of vandalism that stems from boredom and lack of the insufficient number of city watch patrols.

Soubar

While they certainly do not seem to be the most disciplined or capable militia force in the Western Heartlands, the training of some Soubar locals as organized militia by the Ebon Blades, particularly Greil and Michael, over the past few tenday, has at least created a small militia force capable of some ordered defense of the Soubar settlement where previously there was no organized defense to speak of.

Rumors of Soubar's fierce frontier preference for independence and lack of authority makes even this accomplishment seem an impressive feat, whether inspired by a perceived threat of Black Orc raiders or not. Some locally gossip that while there is no chance that the newly trained militia would do much to stop large attack against Soubar, it would likely prove capable against a smaller sized raiding party of orcs, goblins, bandits, or otherwise here or there and complement materially any Ebon Blades joint defense if there were to be larger threat against Soubar.

The regular Zhentilar Outrider patrol in the Sunset Vale was accompanied by the one-eyed man once again. The black rider rode along the Swordcaptain in charge of the patrol the entire way as the two conversed, their mood seeming somewhat lighter than one would expect. Upon reaching Corm Orp, the Outriders circled around the small hamlet, keeping their distance, while the one-eyed man broke off from the patrol and dismounted in front of the main gates. He entered the hamlet and headed for the smith, delivering a pouch filled with coins the man's services.
