1352 - Year of the Dragon Act 1
Surface Metaplot Theme - Recovery and Repercussions on the Coast.
In the wake of the defeat of Larloch's Lich Generals from Warlock's Crypt and their ravaging Undead Hordes, the Sword Coast settles into an uneasy serenity.Unlike last year, we will not be developing major antagonists with overarching specific goals, we will be focusing on the aftermath of last year's metaplot and what is next for the Sword Coast. Large brushsweeping themes will be: Politics, Economics (and poverty), Monstrous Raiders, Crime, Stories of the People and Aftermath. Players will have a chance to affect change via campaign DM's and player request DMs (explained below) through this. Below, will be the general metaplot themes for the 1st third (or Act) of the year and these could dynamically change with the development of RP.
Rebuilding of Baldur's Gate
Rebuilding and reclaiming of Kheldrivver
Refugees of Kheldrivver
Plague Inflicted Docks Inhabitants
Nobles of the Palace District

For the moment, interaction with the surface metaplot will occur mainly through two groups of DM's.
-We will have DM's assigned as campaign DM's to run event chains to stimulate the metaplot. These DM's will be using a new framework this year, focusing on small groups using event-chains.
-Event Chains - A series of events that consist of three events plus supplemental forum RP.
-We will test out this framework using the lore based guilds (those designated focal guilds on the forums, under the focal guild section) running one event chain each. If it is successful, we will expand it to all guilds who request to enter, as well as groups of 4-6 players who may be independent/unaffiliated.
-We will use the framework for campaign DM's to cycle through the interest of the various factions (assuming it works well) to help build on their goals within the metaplot. This allows for cooperation between factions to achieve greater goals than individual factions can achieve if they work together.
Player Request DMs
-We will also have player request DM's that will action metaplot specific requests that involve forum RP or single events (as well as non-metaplot related requests). Player requests will follow the normal guidelines linked to here (http://www.bgtscc.net/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=48188) and should be still submitted to the entire DM team for review, not just one DM.
-The DM team will create spontaneous one off events from time to time in game for unaffiliated non-guild characters and lower level characters and others in keeping with the themes of the year mentioned earlier.
-The DM team will be communicating publicly on 1352 metaplot information via The Elfsong Tavern forum, the new 1352 Metaplot forum (http://www.bgtscc.net/viewforum.php?f=399), the Dungeon Master forums, and the public General Discussion forums.
-Players wanting to communicate their RP to the DM team are recommended to do so via PMs to the entire DM team and in IC RP posts in the Elfsong Tavern forums as well as on private guild or player faction forums as applicable.
