I plan to create a character that is basically pure wizard and Archmage, and I want to take some armor feats and wear armor, and maybe a shield, etc.
I know that I won't have the most uber powerful toon that is possible or whatever, but I don't really care, I just want to know how the high arcana feats will interact with the armor, still spell, auto-still, etc.
Does arcane fire even have somatic components? I'm assuming that things like mastery of shaping will just depend on what spell im casting or what not (ETC, a still spelled fireball changed to cold damage would be fine, but one without using still spell would be effected by arcane spell failure).
Thanks for any help! Wish there was a way to test this stuff myself, so I wouldn't have to be a bother, but I don't want to RCR and find my character unable to use most of the stuff I want to use.

Tried that, and it doesn't grant the archmage qualification, so even when i have the required feats and stuff, I can't take a level to try it out unfortunately :/OXHawkXO wrote:salmarino wrote: Thanks for any help! Re: Question about Archmage mechanics
Run the BGTSCC JEGS module and open the command console (~ key) and type in DebugMode 1
Then select your character in game and type GiveFeat 2798
Your mage will now be qualified to become an archmage

Re: Question about Archmage mechanics
Thanks! got it working that way, but now it seems like Arcane Spell Failure isn't working at all, so I really can't tell if the Arcane fire is subject to it, or if using a stilled spell to convert to arcane fire would work.Tsidkenu wrote:Run the BGTSCC JEGS module and open the command console (~ key) and type in DebugMode 1

I think it's working though. I don't think the Arcane Fire functions like a spell with somatic components, but I guess I won't be totally sure until someone confirms it, or I make it to that level
