RCR Mechanics Change

As of today, the RCR mechanics have changed. It now offers diminishing returns as you get closer to level 20.

Level 1-10 characters will receive 100% of their experience back!
11 = 95%
12 = 90%
13 = 85%
14 = 80%
15 = 75%
16 = 70%
17 = 65%
18 = 60%
19 = 55%
20 = 50%
The admins and HDMs will now be distributing 100% RCR tokens to those people who have LEGITIMATELY BROKEN feats and abilities that are egregious enough to warrant the need. These will be distributed on a per-case basis and not based on a set of specific criteria.

I think this is a great idea, usually before 10 you would know if your build/playstyle aint for you, or if you make a mistake later on, not so hard a punishment.

Hmm. This is an improvement compared to 50% for everybody rule.

What about level 20 cap?

It caps at a 50% return all the way to level 30 with a maximum of level 20 cap.

yeah I think he's asking if we're doing away with the level 20 cap? I think it should be fine if we do, since you can only go so high on XP anyway. :)

The cap at level 20 remains in place. No matter how much XP you pool, you can only RCR up to level 20.

Just a question about this & how it impacts ECL races.

e.g the normal xp required for level 13 is 78000, however for a +2 ECL race, it's 105,000 (level 15 for normal characters).

If you RCR in this circumstance are you hit with a 15% penalty I.e does the system recognise your ECL or do you get hit with a penalty of 25% because it doesn't recognise you as an ECL race?

If the latter, that seems like a double blow on an ECL race but clarification would be appreciated.

My understanding of it is that the penalty is assessed when you collect the experience points. So if the NEW character is ECL +2 the penalty will be assessed based on that new ECL's level at the experience amount available. Thus, if you have a level 10 ECL 2 race and RCR in to a non-ECL thinking you will be level 12 with no penalty, you are out of luck. Likewise, if you are level 12 and RCR to an ECL +2 race, the system will notice this and will not charge you the penalty.

Again, this is only my understanding of how it works, but we did discuss ECL before implementation and it had been decided we didn't want to allow people to 'jump levels' going ECL to non-ECL and we also didn't want to punish ECL with additional penalties over and above those that already exist in leveling them.

In the past the lvl cap was 20 even when you was at lvl 30. So what is the change from the free rcr thing?
