Head Watchknight Wai Li and other Everwatch may be rumored to have attended a recent meeting in the Song of the Morning temple in Beregost with a Council of Six representative from Athkatla.

((edited to correct spelling typo of Athkatla))

Eyes from alleys watch the new patrols coming and going. They flit about noting where and when the patrols are happening. Notes are passed as the Head Watchknight enters the temple after so many important dignitaries are seen entering. In dark alleys and dirty taverns whispers can be heard. WE ARE WATCHING......

*It is said that the Everwatch drilled and patrolled the area south of Beregost and north of Nashkel in the first tenday of Uktar as part of the Everwatch's new role as the custodians of Beregost neutrality.*

*Independence having been officially executed by the Beregost Protocols, the Everwatch, upon ceasing duties as an honor guard of the exchange of sovereignty between Amn and an independent Beregost, begin regular patrols of the Trade Way between Beregost and Nashkel. Head Watchknight Wai Li also wishes both the representative from Amn and the Most Radiant of Lathander well with a prayer for Amn and Beregost to the Watcher and with a handshake to each of congratulations on a platinumly peaceful transaction. It is said that Wai Li is quite emotional with the execution of a permanent and peaceful resolution on the Beregost issue, perhaps being something that she has worked towards for years and she may seem to take the new role of Everwatch custodianship of Beregost's neutrality extremely seriously. It is rumored that the agreement for independence was only after intensive negotiations between Beregost and Amn facilitated by the Everwatch over the past six months and in the context of both sides seeing an interest in a permanent peaceful path forward for the town.*

*It is rumored that the Everwatch met in public with representatives of the Zhentarim in Baldur's Gate under a fresh winter snowfall to ensure that the Zhentarim will guarantee and respect the neutrality of the newly independent Beregost -- all as part of the Everwatch's role as custodians of Beregost's neutrality. Whether the Everwatch were successful or not in this attempt with the Zhentarim remains to be seen. It is said that the Everwatch have also attempted to line up meetings with other factions of the region to better ensure that Beregost's neutrality is respected.*

The Morninglord priest, Harrison Remillard, would be noted to on many days of the week, between temple duties, watch the Eastern approach to the town, paying particular interest the direction of the ruins of Ulcaster's school and the Gullykin crypt's.

The Light Priest would see, with regularity, a pillar of flame lit at the oncoming of the dark, night hours, rising just south of Gullykin and north of Ulcasters.

Some days, time after the pillar of flame appeared, a red robed faithful to the Firelord, known within Beregost as the Preceptor, would arrive by foot to Beregost via the towns east Gate.
