Remmy stops and his countenance changes a smile crosses his face he holds a hand out to shake the mans hand and speaks fluidly.

I greet you warmly Sir Henryk. I would gladly work alongside you and your kin to bolster these folks for the rigors of life. If you would have us as well.
Henryk receives the tradesman hand in a solid grip and one-time shake, muscles flexing in the hand perhaps intentionally translating a strength to the Crusader, as he returns to Remmy a pleasant smile.

"My heart is warmed that you would agree, that those few of us that work on the side of self-empowerment to the Tymountians, can...and will...reach a greater success in collaboration. If the truth has reached my ears, you are named Remmy, and that the Golden Arrow is the Company you lead. And furthermore, you and your Company have been furnishing the Tymountians, those who are willing to take up arms, with weapons forged of silver. Thus, I have considered this act on your part an action made in preparation for a battle to come, where the Tymountians may face the Beast that is a Devil...do I speak the truth of it?

There is, if you may not know of it, a faction of the Tymountians that are possessed by a retaking of their homelands, yet...obstacles are now set in their path, by both the forces of Evil and the forces of Good, thought the latter may know it not, or in the worse case of it all, care not to care.

If it is truly you and your Company's spirited wish to prepare these People of a righting of the wrongs they have been subjected to, then we must continue to speak, as well, as continue to act, in the manner of a continued self-empowerment through martial training. A manner of joint effort,

And beyond this martial training, you and I, Remmy and Henryk, must speak of the political misrepresentation that has grown between the Peoples and the Greater Powers at play. There is an injustice at work here...and if you are pulled to a calling to see balance in righteousness among all Peoples, then we may take a greater step forward.

But for now, tradesman, I can leave you to your task-at-hand, so that you may complete it with the utmost of your attention. Where we shall find each other within the Camp, we shall talk. And when we shall be at distance and without schedule, if it pleases you, you may leave written word for me at the Temple to the Just God, Tyr, within Baldur's Gate."

Henryk the Sword of Tyr, would, unless kept in the moment by Remmy, move on to handle other tasks with the Refugee Camp, thus being capable of contact in the following hours.

A recent hire for the Golden Arrow Company, the moon elf Firozara arrives at the camp one afternoon, after a morning apparently spent gathering as many bundles of practice arrows as could reasonably be carried. She exchanges a few polite words with those she passes on her way to the archery range. On her arrival though she finds the volunteers doing reasonably well already, she soon finds out that other Archers from the Golden Arrow had passed through already and had been assisting the volunteers in their practice. She would nod once, seeing to it that the practice arrows she had bought were properly shared among the group before inquiring just what they had been learning from her co-workers so far..

Use of terrain and cover taught from Remmy, and accuracy drills from Inana you say? There is not a lot I can add to their teachings truth be told so let us see if we can learn something a little different..

Soon enough she would propose splitting the group of volunteers into small teams of archers, each led by some of the more accurate ones that Inanas teachings had already found. She went on to explain that the most accurate team by the end of the day would receive a few bottles of elven wine as a reward. With the promise of more to come whenever she happened by in the coming days. A slight modification of Inanas plan, focused more on rewarding a groups performance than individuals, the hope perhaps being to encourage the more skilled members of each team to assist the others in improving even on days when the other trainers were not present. With the potential added bonus of providing entertainment to the other Refugees. Most of the rest of that day was spent organising the teams before setting them to task on the first of these contests.

IC: The diligent efforts of the Golden Arrow staff are having impact! Formerly disengaged refugees are actualy engaging with the lessons.

The knight errant Henryk, Sword of Tyr, keeps his Word and Action as providing the militia, and especially the Tymount Ten, continued lessons in swordplay, backed up by Faith...in that improvement in arms and lessons in application, shall pave the way for the Tymountians to retake their homelands...and for the community of these displaced Peoples to remain firmly knit, in order to see just vengeance served.

OOC: Approved by DM Golem

IC: The familiar sight of the knight errant is one that is now part of the scenery for the refugees. His protection and concern for the refugees has done much to give hope, and it is clear to those who interact with the refugees that the ones who he trains have become loyal to the ideals he represents.

Developments in the Camp over Hammer and Alturiak

With the offensive on the Winding Water and the destruction of Tymount, the Grand Dukes have paid compensation to the Tymount refugees. With their home ruined, and within devil territory - but with a measure of vengeance exacted - the refugees are putting this past behind them and accepting that for the foreseeable future, they will be settled in Baldur's Gate. The Baldurian offensive has cut off the flow of refugees, as now those behind the front line feel, and are, safer. Thus, with the generous donations by many private individuals, the support offered so far by the temples of Ilmater, Tymora, Helm, Torm, Tyr and Mystra, as well as the Pathfinder's Hall, the majority of refugees now have permanent roofs over their heads.

Large numbers remain in collective shelters in Baldur's Gate, but these offer better conditions than the camp. The number relying upon the temples entirely declines as offers of employment are taken up and further donations given. More and more of these individuals are housed in regular housing, often subsidised by charity until they can get back on their feet. Several actually take up work with the temples, and the Temple of Ilmater, at least, is looking for donations to purchase a farm to be worked by refugees, to help fund its ongoing work in the city. Notably many recruits for the Watch, and some for the Flaming Fist, come from the young men and women among the refugees. Even those who were previously afraid, after the victory on the Winding Water, have been inspired to join up.

The camp itself has been shrinking every day, and is now much smaller, increasingly hosting new arrivals who soon move on with the guidance of the clergy or of their own accord. That is not to say there is not need, but it is no longer the humanitarian crisis it once was.

(((The "crisis" part of the Refugee arc is over, with the cessation of a flow of refugees following the Baldurian offensive. The IG camp representation is now a much better representation of how large the camp actually is in scope, and will remain in game to account for the lower number of refugees passing through.

The temples mentioned above are in the process of finding long term accommodation and work for the refugees that they have taken under their wing, something which proceeds apace due to the currently hale economic situation in the city. Further donations will still be readily accepted for both the refugees in the camp and those settling in Baldur's Gate, but day to day needs are met, with donations now being spent on finance to pay for housing, job creation and quality of life.

PM me any questions!)))

Those interested, if they chose not to return and defend their homes, could seek him to apply.

((OOC: Approved by DM Golem))

IC: The training is attended well. There is a committed core, and a larger membership that does not attend each lesson and is less motivated. Those ones are likely to gain only basic skills but there are some more promising members.

The offer of work is met with questions as to the pay package! The distance and danger means at this point, only three seem interested. Perhaps as skill grows, and with enough financial incentive, more may take up the offer.
The training of the core group and larger, basic group continues as Derik does more of this and a bit less adventuring perhaps. He would welcome also those who wish to learn from the other "groups" of folk, such as those being armed by Remmy. Not only would he instruct on personal skill, but also give instruction on gear maintenance, and when he had large enough class would also give lessons on squad tactics.

He would inform those that had expressed interest in employment that the pay of the guards will be <insert going rate for guards here> as well as room covered while at the Foundation once the interior was complete along with two meals a day. Travel to and from their shift rotations, likely via the nearby ferry, will also be paid for by the Foundation as able. Gear will be supplied by the Foundation with option of the individuals to buy it for themselves. Unfortunately, the Foundation will not be able to house whole families of employees while they are on rotation, it just won't be big enough physically for that. However, there will also be several other positions available such as inn-staff, stable hands, etc who will also be provided similar packages.

OOC: Approved by DM Golem

IC: The trust built up by Bladestone training and the recent change in refugee circumstances, with the demolishing of Tymount, leads to interest in these positions. Notably, Derik's involvement in the attack on Tymount, considered by many to be rightful vengeance for their losses, promotes interest. However, Derik quickly learns its not feasible to travel from Baldur's Gate to Candlekeep, so any staff would have to be live in staff. He can recruit up to twelve assorted staff however, provided he makes provision for their board.
With the change of circumstances at the Camp as well as the current contract with the Gate regarding Bladestone instruction for the new Watch recruits, the regular training sessions for the refugees from Derik gradually come to an end, unfortunately. Any further training he provides is once a week maybe at best, for those still in the camp that he has been training.

As for employment at the Bladestone, yes indeed, live-in staff will be both provided for and preferred. Provision for such staff will be made when the interior is complete. ((Currently being completed by the most wonderful ValerieJean, thank you so much!)) Derik will begin to make provision for those that he is hiring, both currently in the nearly-completed Bladestone Facility where they can stay within the mostly built building with the other construction staff and assist in the final stages for pay, or at the Friendly Arm Inn and Beregost, basic rooms and board paid for by the Foundation until such time as the building is complete.

When the Bladestone's facility is fully open it will indeed have accommodations for staff as it was in the original floor plan, both in small rooms for the higher ranking staff and those with spouses as well as a room that can function as a dormitory otherwise. However, because of size limits, it is an unfortunate truth that the Foundation cannot house large families, so only those who are single or just with a spouse are able to be hired. If both individuals in a pair are among the staff and there is a small child, that may be possible, but is not encouraged. It's a dangerous place on the road, and the Foundation is not as large as the Friendly Arm in, nor will be well suited for long term care of children.

The knight errant Henryk the Damaran, house of Urde, Sword of Tyr, hears the words spoken by the priests of the Temple of the Broken God, and with the refugees in mind, does make offer to the Temple in the grand amount of twenty-five thousand coin.

He is clear to speak long to the priests that, this donation, comes from a faithful to the Just God, he that leads the Triad as a Greater God, and thus his faithful do duty to care and support the loyal faiths, being collectively devoted to the relief of suffering and duty. And, that with this donation, Henryk the Sword of Tyr, wishes to strengthen the bond between the Triadic Temples of Baldur's Gate toward the future...in particular, as it pertains to the coming future of the Tymountians...and, as Henryk speaks on the subject in detailed length, he lets forth the words and concept, of: "...the New Tymount."

A Cause for a New Tymount

Good People of Baldur's Gate, Faithful to Triad, Believers in Justice, Honor and Courage~

I, Henryk of house Urde, Sword of Tyr and knight errant to the Temple of the Just God of Baldur's Gate, do summon you to the idea of the fulfillment of a Peoples desire to regain their homelands, reclaim their birthing grounds and in defense of the elders that spirit-walk the grounds of so many families passed....

It is a New Tymount, the future that is presented to you now, in league with the Mayor Gillan of Tymount and the many Peoples of this township that have, for Tendays of great number, held steadfast against the condition of Refugee, and now, still, after harsh winter and the latest word that their home, Tymount, has been destroyed...they YET STILL yearn to reclaim what was lost. This is courage seen in a most divine light, inspirational, and worth directing support to seeing a thing manifest.

For that thing shall be a New Tymount, one rebuilt under compensation through rights after wrong, and through the initiative of compassionate souls of Baldur's Gate and the greater Sword Coast, that understand with faithful conviction that suffering can be healed, through true acts of just vengeance.

It is true that many of the Tymount citizens have taken up new livelihoods in the reality of the only options left or offered, until now...but having spoken with the Mayor Gillan who speaks true of his People's desires, and knowing that the young and fit and earnest of the Tymount-that-was seek to take up arms in order to fight back against the Evil that has displaced. If one is of courage to fight against the Devils to reclaim their honor, than one is worthy of gaining that which is the greatest loss. I beseech you to understand there is no greater gift given to one that has lost, than that of a returned honor.

Honor is found within homelands. Homelands being the People's strength.

Thus I, Henryk a Sword of Tyr, along with the People of Tymount that still hold up banner in Honor of the Name, petition you to pull resource and Faith toward backing a New Tymount, one that can rise from the destruction laid to it when dust has cleared, and one where a Faithful and Practical relationship with the City of Baldur's Gate shall bridge a greater Lawfulness along the Coast Way, the Trade Way, and beyond.

To this end, you may consult further with the Temple of Tyr, myself in diplomatic development, and with the Mayor Gillan, shall you seek him, for he continues to be the ear, eye and mouth of his remaining People, who are faith bound to a future tied and strengthened by the past.

Signed,
Be Sharp the Sword of Justice

His banter is lighthearted as he regales with tales of heroism and bravery as a company of heroes met the northern horde and drove them back. He reassures them repeatedly that he will continue to fight for their voices to be heard and their safety to be maintained. He brings with him small gifts of food and wine, and articles of clothing to share throughout.
This Copper Fox, seen within the Refugee Camp, is engaged by a well-armored individual, who would be a regular character known by many within the camp, for the many months of time spent training and furthering the Faith that drives him.

Stopped, at some moment or another, the armored "knight" speaks to the "Copper Fox:"

"Good sir...I am Henryk of house Urde, the Sword of Tyr, champion to the Cause for a New Tymount, caretaker to the will of the Mayor Gillan and the Peoples of Tymount that still hold dear in their heart a return to their homelands. I greet you with pleasure, for I have witnessed with my own eyes your desire to bring gifts to cure any want that may linger in the moment, for these Peoples of Tymount.

It is said that you have spoken to many, with reassurances that your presence is one that brings a fight to the right of voice and concern, in their safety, but as one may assume, also their future. Thus I speak to you now, that if such be your will in honor and faith, to join with me and others to back the Peoples of Tymount in such a Cause to bring about a New Tymount, for these Peoples to reclaim what has been taken from them by forces of Evil, and raised to nothing by the forces of Good, leaving honest, just souls with little resource to regain the honor of their former lives.

For a number of Us, men and woman that seek Justice for the dispossessed, we shall do whatever we may under the Laws and with Faith to cause just vengeance for what has been experienced, by these Tymount Peoples.

Are you of a character that you would place your efforts with us, in league, where we may further an objective in mutual strength, in place of individualism that shall be unlikely to solve such a shame?"

The knight errant holds out his hand to the "Copper Fox," in a way that may be just a simple greeting, or may appear to be an invitation to form a pact at first through words, but later, one that shall lead to action.

The garrulous young sailor of perhaps some reknown smiles broadly when approached. He listens attentively to the armored knight, thumb and forefinger rising to stroke one corner of his precisely trimmed moustache as he carefully considers each and every word. As the man finishes and extends his hand, the copper-haired sailor takes it in his own heavily calloused mitt responding in his typical colorful fashion.

“I certainly consider myself among brethren here, for few are more common than I. I cannot say that I’ve a great deal of faith in the paper shields that most laws end up being but, then again, nothing ventured is nothing gained. If it is truly the will of these fine folks, I will play whatever small part I am able in bringing it about.”

The knight errant concentrates dutifully on the words of the young sailors words.

"Let your cause, and their cause, come into a common will, and a combined action. It shall be. I welcome you into this Trust, Goodman...taking the name of Fox...as I heard it said. Do not concern yourself with a part small, or a part large...but more a part True, to what must be made manifest...for surely, if it is their will and our will, together...what could possibly hinder such a Cause."

The last words by the knight errant are spoken in a tone that might ring...rhetorical.

"In confidence, Goodman Fox...you shall be kept abreast of when the Banner shall be raised, to which we may join the Tymounts, toward the Cause."

*The young man chuckles softly at the knight's formality.*

"No need for honorifics, good sir. Fox'll do. Titles fit me like lipstick on a pig. When the time comes, I'm easy enough to find. I rarely stray far from these good folk, unless I am hired out for some task. It pays the bills that I might provide some extra for those taken for granted by the well-to-do nobles who choose to ignore them. Have you a rough time frame in mind?"

The knight errant replies:

"The Fox it shall be, in name...but do not let it become you, to lay sly and act out of the light of honesty. Let us be truthful to each other, and over the reason where we may work together—those that shall stand under the banner of Tymount, be it old or new. And our actions shall commence when Mayor Gillan and his Peoples stir to the Cause. Of this, I can say no more than to prepare yourself, Goodman Fox."

The two men* would then grant each other leave. But as they turned about face, Henryk the Damaran, the Sword of Tyr, champion to the Cause of a New Tymount, would only take two small steps...for as he turned his back to the Fox, he heard a very loud and odd swoosh of a sound, as if something of girth did cut and weave through the air between them. From the pause, and as the Fox would perhaps keep walking away to his next duty, Henryk slowly turned to confront this sound that has paused him.

Turning, his gaze locked harshly with a thing he had not noticed as the Fox and he had spoken—that being a tail, long and edged at the end in a spade, that was attached in flesh to the Fox. Immediately, a subconscious reaction overcame the knight errant, and his hands went quickly to the hilt of his sword, resting in a fine scabbard.

It would be observed be any other viewing this scene unfold, and in the moment fairly expected, to see the knight errant pull his blade, for his reaction appeared so strong. But as the Fox moved back toward his previous actions and the people there, those he was giving aid to and sharing in a commonness among them with good spirit between them all, the knight errant stayed in a hold, still gripping the hilt of his exotic blade, but...seeing what could only be said were good intentions given and placed among the Tymountians, the knight errant could not engage.

For some time, Henryk just observed, but upon his face, it would seem a hotness turned to grimace turned to a light confusion—without reacting nor speaking, nothing true could be gained from the knight errant in interpretation. Perhaps not knowing what to do with himself, the knight errant quietly backed away, taking reverse step after step, until his proximity was far enough away from the Fox and the Tymounts around, that the knight errant could turn to walk away at a brisk pace, brooding and keeping his hooded head at a slight downward angle.

His destination was to the area in which the Tymount Ten do train. And later, during lessons continued with the Ten, Henryk would keep a slight thoughtful distance.

Not having had an IG view of the Copper Fox when I started the RP with Wyatt, I could not have kept to Henryk's more strict interpretations. But after having spoken with Wyatt OOC about a mini RP dilemma I was having, Wyatt and I got on a good page to try and take it in a way that "keeps it real" for the Characters. He makes mental note of the condition of their camp and what they are lacking regarding necessities. After garnering what information they are willing to share, he meanders back to the city and can be found frequenting different merchant guilds and trade companies asking after supplies for the refugees. *Fox would seek out Henryk, when next he is in the camp. He approaches, an easy smile on his lips and a mischievous twinkle in his eye.*

Ahh, good sir knight. It so happens that I have begun brokering negotiations for supplies to help out these good, stout-hearted folks. I put out several tendrils in the city and have been approached by a trade company called The Golden Wheel. I am hoping to procure furs and oilcloth cloaks, shoes, boots and foodstuffs.
Perhaps some new shelters as well? If you can think of anything else that I should ask after, I would very much appreciate the input. I am also curious, good sir, about the long term prospects for these goodly folk? Surely they cannot remain in these ramshackle accommodations for much longer. Perhaps some sort of work, round about the city, to help them get back on their feet? I am sure many are too proud to simply accept charity. Have you any thoughts?
