Re: dancing lights being applied to character upon log in
If you log in to a zone with a Silverstar having the "Tears of Selune" ability active, it seems to apply a sorceror version of dancing light upon the person.
I have reported this in a PM.
It also occurs on server transfer to my whole party every time, crashes etc. basically every time some one logs in to a zone when a silverstar have tears of selune active.

okay, we have an origin, and it's been reported, that's good
question for staff. how do we remove this from a pc? hoping rcr is not the answer. i do not wish to write my character's bio a 7th time

You can also dismiss the spell and the effect should disappear. There was another spell that I had to dismiss one time aside from dancing lights but I forgot which one it was.

in general, it persists until reset, needing to dismiss upon every load
on some occurances, it becomes permanent. i had to rcr an alt to get rid of it
luckily, reset removed the effect from lomar

is there an ETA on this fix?
bards are still using this around others and it can become a permadazzle on pcs

Re: dancing lights being applied to character upon log in
Sorry, i'm not sure we can fix it fast. The only person who knows that rebuffing code well (or even knows how it works in first place) is Valefort and he's not much active currently.
When i have more time after i finish my nearest project and we finish with combat patch, i will try to research how that works to provide some fix or, at least, a bandaid for certain spell effect.
Also, a small reminder: please never post into "Currently under review" or "fixed next update". Those are subforums i move stuff to keep it organized. If you post there, there is high chance it may slip through cracks as i don't monitor those that often (cause i assume it's only me who changes stuff there).

Re: dancing lights being applied to character upon log in
When Valefort was looking at it last time, it was due to its weird interaction with bardic inspirations, it seemed to randomly switch them off quite often.
This seems to be occuring again, id estimate one in five times I have to reactivate any inspiration I activated when Tears of Selune is also in effect.
I have not heard or seen any one having issues with actually dispelling the spreading Dancing Lights though, besides from this topic. But it does make me wonder if the characters in question had light sensitivity of some kind? The effects of the spell work wonders on Duergar for instance, who just walk around helplessly as if blinded by it.
