Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
A conversation overheard by mouthy sailors in the Elfsong and rapidly repeated to any who would listen.
Mavis(an uneducated cleaning lady): "I be tellin ya what I seen! A group a folk out diggin in dem Fields O'Dead. Near da crater dey was. Don't be knowin what fer as dat be no place fer a lass like me ta stay 'n chat in."
Bry (a local regular): "Ye always be mouthing off about business that ain't yours, Mavis. Maybe someone is diggin a new mausoleum. Probably some noble or other wantin to enshrine their blessed hide when they pass."
Able(off duty Fist ): "Nah, we keep watch of that road. To warn folks away, mind ya. I hear a group went driving a wagon of supplies up there. Weren't no strong backs hired for diggin neither. More pretty folk. Dressed all nice cept one fella in armor. Me mate was on duty when they passed. Said they waved off his warnings. Most folk don't take them warnings serious. That's been three days now. Probably dead."
Mavis: "They be plenty alive when I seen'em. Climbin outta a hole they dug. Robbing tombs, says me. Probably peeve off some ghost'er other. Come haunt us all!"
*Laughter*

In the place of a Dark Lord you would have a Queen! Not dark but beautiful and terrible as the Morn! Treacherous as the Seas! Stronger than the foundations of the Earth! All shall love me and despair!

Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
A scene occurs in the Eastern Farmlands outside Baldur's Gate.
Farmer Todd woke early one morning to find two horses tied to wagon, slowly drifting through his fields, eating the brush from the ground. From a distance, the wagon seemed to be drifting...
"Oh...I ain't be havin' time for this!"
Trudging through the light frost of morning lying upon his fields, Farmer Todd reached the wagon to find an arrow-riddled corpse lying within, the driver, dead and bloodied.
"Ahh...fer the love of Chauntea! This be a bad omen."
He notices the wagon as well, having tens of arrows piercing it's wood side panels. Black fletched arrows...
Farmer Todd sends one of his younger sons into the Gate to bring the Flaming Fist guard. Soon, a Fist Elite arrives with a small contingent of guards, and upon examining the arrows that are stuck all over the wagon, he says these few words:
"By the blood of my fathers...those bastard pig faces still live! And...this wagon is...was...part from the grain shipment from Triel!"

The body of a merchant noble washes up at the Docks in the Baldur's Gate Harbor. The Flaming Fist publicly report that it was an accident. However, for the coming days Fist are seen harassing any suspected Teiflings in the area, and anyone with pronounced bumps on their heads, cleft foots, or excessively dark or reddish complexions.

Rumor has it a Large White Dragon landed just outside Candlekeep and flew off with a scribe in it's claws.

Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
Following the news that the bulk of the Amnian garrison stationed in Beregost has departed heading southward, residents of the recovering war-ravaged town noted an almost immediate uptick in criminal activity of every kind, including violent crime. A local man who had spent the evening drinking at Samuel Feldepost's tavern was found the next morning stabbed to death in what appeared to investigators to be a mugging gone terribly wrong, the man's corpse being found stuffed between two heaps of trash in an alleyway after being stripped of his valuables by the assailant. The few remaining guards have been overwhelmed by the sudden surge in complaints brought to them, and residents have started to grumble that the guards appear to be turning a blind eye to the pickpockets and small-time criminals infesting the town to focus on the murderers and other major affronts to decency that seem to be becoming a common, even daily, occurrence in Beregost.

A Half-Orc Warlock was hanged just north of the Wyrms crossing bridge. He was said to be a cultist worshiping devils. It was not unnoticed he claimed a member of Candlekeep had summoned Devils before his neck snapped.
The guards later seemed very annoyed at adventurers acting a fool around the corpse. One Bloodclaw orc was also killed and added to the gallows.

Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
Rumor stirs amongst the ambassadors and dignitaries that visit the court of Baldur's Gate. Many officials with long memories seem to have been queried on their knowledge of the Black Orc tribe...in particular, tactics and historic battles fought by and against the Black Orc within the Sword Coast region.
Council scribes seem to be documenting tales and memories both truthful and...inventive. It is mentioned that even staff from the the Shelf of Many Books have become involved in the transcribing what has been dictated.
The rumor goes on, stating that within the Council, the Duke Liia is the most hungry for the information gleaned. Any that have experience with the character of the Orc, are given special attention upon the presentation floor of the Palace audience chamber...

Rumors abound that a low level noble had been found murdered in the Blade and Star Inn. The Flaming Fist had sealed off and cleaned up the seen, remaining tight lipped about the affair.

Ghosts and other undead may not be an uncommon sight in the woods after a party failed to stop negative energy from leaking into the Cloakwood.

Rumor circulates out of the northern region that the local council of Triel, now returned and making headway to return their village to it's idyllic origins, are in possession of a letter admitting that the two lost children refugees where taken...albeit, under fair and good intentions.
This council seems pulled in many directions, with regard to where their allegiances lay, as information reaches them almost daily that pulls them either to the Lord's Alliance' camp...or towards that of the dark north.
This council drafts an official looking letter, as best as they can muster with limited education and experience in such political matters, and sends it to the Radiant Heart Orphanage, demanding the return of the two children.
The circulating rumor ends with the mystery surrounding what the children witnessed first hand...and to a desire to learn first hand of whom the real saviors of Triel are...

*sighs when he hears of this*
The tyrant swoons them with a facade of false benevolence... then when it is too late will they suffer from his whip.
I must make sure my brothers hear of this.

The Flaming Fist investigate a gruesome murder in the palace District. The victim appears to be a woman, her corpse was found in the small park behind the Tymora temple just across from the White Mask Theater.
