Upon returning from a meeting in Doron Amar, the grand Knight enters the Office and begins writing up orders for assignments and for supplies. Twenty soldiers of the Order and reassigned and gather for their equipment in the Keep's Marshaling Yard. Valduil is placed in charge of these forces, who would march out upon his order, towards the Uldoon Trail. Once they arrive at the Southern end of the Glimmerwood, also known as the Sharpteeth, they would take the route provided by Doron Amar, so as to avoid obstacles and threats of the forest. Upon their arrival, they would set up in appropriate areas for Non-Citizens.

In the wake of the tidal wave of rotting fish that befouled the water coursing through Doron Amar, the druid Sane and Avintae have found themselves further along the river. They are apparently examining the populations of the native mollusks: freshwater oysters and mussels, for example.

They are also examining the soil quality and native plant life upon the river's muddy banks. All manners of mosses, pine tree saplings, cattail, water mint, and soft rush are lauded for their water filtration capabilities. Where any of these can be found, their locations and quantities are noted.

The pair seek out all things natural and legendary for their water filtration capabilities, all plentiful enough to collect samples and safely transfer them further downstream. To this end, they bring wheelbarrows and buckets with them to safely deliver any life they find. All potential species are noted.

Elanil, dressed in cheap and disposable clothing, can be seen shoveling dead fish out of the river near Doron Amar. Her nostrils are plugged in a poor attempt to avoid the smell -- as evident by the constant gagging that interrupts her work. Still, Elanil somewhat persists, albeit with constant breaks to chug wine (with a clear insistence on doing this work while drunk).

After several hours of this, the elf is covered in mud, drenched, and stinks of rotting fish. Standing near the pile of rotting fish she's shoveled out of the river, she is seen gently banging her head into a nearby tree and mumbling to herself in a monotone, tired voice.

"Ah, Seldarine be praised. Truly, no greater task than this. Yes, all for the village... all for the village..."
Far from a stranger to hard labor, Hruthnar offered to aid his friend's new home with their erstwhile fish problem. Rotten meat and brittle bones were hurled over shoulder into wheelbarrows for later disposal. Elanil was sure to remind Hruthnar of the stench but frankly it was no worse than the mines after a hard days work. A few hours passed, a notable dent in the festering pile made and their throw away garb all but ruined and they decided to call that done enough for now.

"Shame it's all a waste, I love fish. Could go for a baked salmon right now." He grinned wryly to his friend.

One of the Councilors of Doron Amar can be seen returning from his journey in the deeper parts of the forest with a troubled expression. He does not appear to be talkative but gives out a warning to one of the ranger lieutenants then heads into the council hall.

A female figure with a lantern in hand is seen approaching the bridge leading to Doron Amar but not crossing it. Despite the rain she remains standing by one of the statues. While standing and waiting she wraps a bandage around her left hand. When confronted by the guards eventually a name is given. With the new dawn a flaming haired figure comes out of the village and speaks with the female a short moment then they walk across the bridge and into the village.

Some may have witnessed their conversation at the tavern and at the end of it she is seen leaving with the flaming haired male and a few rangers heading towards Greenest.*

Five elves have recently braved through the forest that the elves call the Glimmerwood, bearing the insignia of Evereska. The group appears to have been four warriors serving as guards for the fifth one- an ostentatiously-dressed sun elven wizard.

They have arrived in Doron Amar and supposedly remain at the village's spire of the arcane. Though normally it wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary, some whisper of sensing otherworldly power emanating from the elven mage.

A recent, but returning arrival to the village can be seen drilling with the elven warriors within the village. With each swing of his blade, or draw of his bow, this elven knight appears driven to aid his comrades in arms to perfection. He can be seen after drills leading others in prayer to Vandria Gilmadrith, and offers what advice or practice he can to those who seek it. He is present until the long hours past dusk, the sound of his bow a steady, rhythmic beat as arrow after arrow strikes their targets.

To those he speaks to, he is quiet, contemplative, and grounded. To those who have lost family or friends during the green wyrm or orcish attacks, he can be seen offering solace in their grief and suffering. Regardless of to whom he speaks, he makes himself a reliable presence in the embattled village and can be found near the statute of the Three Goddesses.

A couple of days later after her departure, the blue-clad elf returns with a packpony in tow. The pair appears to have avoided harm on the way. They make their way to the main square and the elf sets a tent to the side, though first relieving the pony of the load of supplies it has carried.

Word around the village mentions an additional healer having arrived to the village to help out during the blighted times. Having brought additional supplies with her, the elven priestess operates from her tent mostly but goes where needed as well when called upon. In between treating patients and keeping the tent neat and organized she speaks with those wishing a word and offers wisdom, a prayer or simple words of encouragement.

She usually remains in the village several days at a time but makes the dangerous journey out of the village every now and then, perhaps when additional supplies are needed.

During preperations for the coming battle, Aska takes time to speak and train with the members of the militia. She shares a bit of her own history of how she used to be a sorceress but turned to the blade when magic became unreliable and dangerous. She empathizes with how their way of life has so drastically changed and compliments their bravery in taking up the bow and sword for Doron Amar and all within and without against the coming threat. She makes the bold claim that they will overcome this trial and, wherever the Seldarine may walk in the realms, their hearts are always with their people.

Under orders from Radiant Heart Vigilant Captain Boots, the Radiant Heart’s Warden would make his way from Radiant Crossing into the Woods of Sharp Teeth with a heavy pack loaded with traps and several extra bundles of arrows. There he would meet up with the small detachment of Radiant Heart forces and go over maps and would fill them in the latest finding of recent scout and survey missions. He then would set to meet with the Everaskan Rangers to co-ordinate areas where they would lay down traps and the paths for returning and leaving patrols.

To the amazement, or more likely confusion, of some the Mithralclad Yuri Lichelina is seen entering the village with a wooden crate strapped to his back. Carrying it fairly easily through and up to Lylan'Synor Syr'Asiryn. It is quickly apparent though that these are all healing kits of varying shapes and sizes but in large quantities to aid in the war effort. Non magical healing, for a non magical age. He would stay behind for a short while before making his leave. One can only hope they will not come in handy.

Posting on behalf of Hoihe/Lafali'Atria Nulei'ren:
Sticking to the shadows, under the guise of a waning crescent in the sky at her zenith, a moon elven woman made her approach to Doron Amar. She was dressed simply, wearing a heavily stained long coat with a large bag upon her back.

Upon arrival, she identified herself to the rangers as Lafali'Atria, and upon crossing the second bridge even presented her renewed token of citizenship. However, it seemed she was making an active effort to lay low, to avoid drawing attention.

Finally, at the shrine she'd present the bag's contents to Sayiel after greeting her - a pack full of cases of ointment, each enough to service sixteen wounded, each enough to prevent infection from either toxins or disease upon proper application [Restorative Ointment, 50 charges]. She'd explain that while these ointments lack magic, they were made of exotic and almost supernatural herbs like Catsbalm, Elven Willow, Musk Muddle and some more whose names she admitted to have forgotten by the time she trekked all the way here.

Beyond these cases of ointments to be applied after the battle, so as to prevent fighters from succumbing to fever and gangrene - she also brought a whole four score half pounds of general first aid kits. While nowhere as sophisticated as the balms she brought, she expressed hope they too will minimize casualties. And naturally, a bunch of fresh leaves of Bloodstaunch

After her delivery, the elf stayed for a while with Sayiel, offering her minor assistance with keeping the shrine clean and sorted for as long as the moon was still visible above the horizon. She even left a few large feathers - taken from an intelligent hawk, given willingly. Seeing the moon disappear, she'd excuse herself and leave the village as she did. Her plans were momentarily interrupted by running into Lylan'Synor, with whom she paused to talk amiably. The two then departed the gates together before sunrise.

((Donated items were left with Lylan'Synor to be used freely for village needs))

Victory is a bittersweet one.

Though the battle was won, it came with a cost. Once the speeches and words of encouragement were done and people dispersed —each going where they needed to be— one task remained. Feleron called for Alexander and Fierlith and they headed towards the main square where one of the green dragons had first landed during the fierce battle. There began the sad but necessary duty to honor the fallen. The carnage was indescribable but the trio worked without complaint even though, they too, were tired, dirty and worn from the battle. Soon Simon also joined them and helped to organize the fallen in a row, each pieced together as well as possible.

While the quiet work continued, the priestess left the scene and returned after a short while, wearing a clean flowing gown resembling the night sky with the symbol of Sehanine Moonbow on each accessory she wore with the gown. There had been an attempt to wipe her face clean but all in all she was still wearing the marks of the battle.

The small group gathered before the fallen, ten of them, and the priestess began the battle rites for the fallen. Each one was attended individually and a mark was left on their foreheads. The priestess returned to her previously held position with the others, paused to regard the fallen in silence once more then held out her hands and spoke softly.

~~~
As the sun sets and the light wanes,
so does the journey of these brave ones come to end.
Let go of the burden,
for now it is time to pass onto Arvandor.
Let your spirits lift and reach the stars.
Do not let your heart sink for this is but one step.
Lady of Dreams and Daughter of the the Night Skies,
extend your blessing upon these brave souls and ease their journey to the beyond.
Guide them on this journey and bless them with your light.
May they be remembered for the sacrifice they made
and celebrated for the paths they each took.
Go with the grace of Sehanine Moonbow and be content.
~~~

The rites are simple but befitting. They are repeated at different spots throughout the village. The day turns to night. Others might have joined them as they move from place to place.

As the last service to the fallen, funeral pyres are prepared and they are lit in the moonlight. A single voice, that of Faelyn, begins an elven lullaby. He is joined by other voices everywhere in the village. The song is sung until the pyres go out.

((Part of this took place in game but feel free to have taken part in it (any part) if your character is so inclined. At least the song would have been heard around the village.))

Triumph of the Fair Folk

Image

As the dawn sun peeks through the treetops of Doron Amar, there is a mournful peace upon the settlement. But soon, there is a bustling of work. They've successfully defended their homes against four green dragons and a horde of orcs, and now they must mend their homes and wash the orcish filth out of their lands.

The fallen number only 54: 12 Evereskan Rangers and 29 citizen militia who recently were trained, insisting to defend their homes, and this holy place of Angharradh. Also among those fallen were 6 soldiers of Kraak Helzak and 7 man-at-arms of the Radiant Heart. After the battle, last rites for the fallen elves were performed by the priestess of Sehanine, Fierlith Silverglade, and the fallen elves were sent safely on their way to Arvandor. The fallen dwarves and humans received great honours from the surviving elves before they were sent home for their own families and people to perform their appropriate last rites.

On the side of the enemy, however, the death toll is enormous. The fallen orcs number beyond one thousand, and at least one hundred hydras. All four green dragons are dead, two currently lying in the river near the waterfall, but the elves have begun the work of dragging them out of the river. Another lies to the north, pierced by Lylan'Synor's lances, and the last one - the Disciple of Ashardalon - lies just outside the village to the east, its chest burst open where the demon inside was obliterated.

As the day goes on, the elves construct pyres to burn the orc and hydra remains. There is much chatter, both mournful and joyous. Some excited for First Mage Natariel's work with magic, others for Lylan'Synor's ingenuity in the defense of Doron Amar, and yet others for the songs sung by the bards now, especially those of their councilor Faelyn. Those mourning seek out the priests Fierlith and Feleron to have private conversations.

Occasionally, the bronze dragon Sunathearcanisshesjing flies overhead, leaving behind piles of treasure near the tower - collected from the lairs of the four dead greens.

Late in the evening, an ancient elf guarded by four evidently elite warriors depart the settlement, saying their farewells on their way out, heading north-east.

It will take some time for Doron Amar to settle again, but one thing is clear: The Fair Folk are not trifled with, and Doron Amar is growing stronger than it ever was before.
