Personality Profile:
Kanika is cheerful almost to the point of being obnoxious. She detests lying, even when the truth can sometimes be uncomfortable. She is also extremely naïve in social graces and culture, having grown up in total isolation. While she usually uses the truth honorably, sometimes she has no problem being extra blunt just to annoy someone who she sees as rude or unjust, or just generally someone who she feels drains on her good time.

Background:
Kanika was found on the steps of the Temple of Tyr in Neverwinter City as a babe. Her first eight years of life were spent here, but frequent bouts with the other children about their things that she had taken, and also the collection plate frequently not having as much money as expected, led to the old priest Hrothgar to decide to raise her in seclusion, effectively leaving the order and retiring to a remote cabin in Neverwinter Wood, a few days outside of Conyberry. It is in this cabin that Kanika spent the next eleven years of her life, receiving one of the finest educations, even if Hrothgar left a few scientific studies and social graces out. Hrothgar was slowly losing his mind, and by the time he died he was half-cracked, and Kanika would often play tricks on him. Before his death, Kanika felt Tymora calling her to first to Waterdeep, where she would learn the fate of her mother, a paladin of Tyr whom passed from this world, and then to Baldur’s Gate, where she sought the lore masters of Candlekeep in an attempt to discern where her tanar’ri heritage might lead.

Goals: Kanika has a burning desire to find her demonic father and also yearns to be truly human.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
Possible plot ideas is that as Kanika grows and learns more about her father and the sad reality of the world, she is hopelessly disappointed by it and becomes evil and changes her god. Don’t know if this is happening yet.

When she sang a song for her father once outside, the egg-laying chicken in their coop exploded and was no longer allowed to sing. When she recited poetry in the house, the cat exploded, and she was no longer allowed to do that either. (Both song and poem are in Abyssal.) Until recently she had no idea what reproduction was.
