Background: I was not born to lead. Some men would find that hard to say, some men have too much pride. With the social graces, temperament and looks of an angry ugly bear I've only ever been in a position of power because of my size. Being one of the bigger lads i could usually intimidate the younger and smaller boys get my way, but my temper and lack of patience meant all my plans for mischief ended with us getting a swift kick in the arse from the local law or my old man.

My old man, he wasn't the best of men, but he was far from the worst. Taught me enough of letters to get by and, when he was sober, the pointy end of a sword. Gods know where he picked any of it up, but it's served me well. He taught me a lot of things and deserved better than i gave him, but all young men know everything and when i walked out it wasn't on the best of terms.

My lack of finer features (a quality my father always assured me came from my mother) is both my gift and my curse. The only times I've ever experienced the love of a beautiful woman was all bought and paid for but when you look like the arse end of a bear thats been sitting down too long, people tend to assume you're clumsy and stupid. Makes people more inclined to be careless. If the big smelly peasant can't read, there is no harm leaving important information around is there. The real trick to it is finding the best buyer without advertising too widely your intentions. Hopefully my little foray into the city of Baldurs Gate will leave me with a little more in monetary gains and a with little less of the "I'm going to kill you, spy" stuff.

Aridor is smarter than he looks but far from a genius or scholar. Like any man Aridor admires and desires power but he lacks patience and charisma. He is smart enough to realise this and so prefers to be led rather than lead. While he would happily be the second in command of a raiding party, he wouldn't want to be the commander. He is also less clumsy than he appears, though he would never make a decent burglar, he has steady hands and is at dextrous enough not to trip on his own feet.

Goals: Aridor is essentially lazy, love the idea of get rich quick schemes. His ultimate goal is to make enough to retire and spend his days with strong drink and fine women. His greed and carelessness with coin will probably keep him working till he's too old to be intimidating or swing a sword. He hopes to make contact with the thieves guild and or a well paying merchant company while in Baldurs gate.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: Who are is parents? Possibly his father is a disgraced minor noble or courtier? Maybe just a servant to a noble house? His mother? a (germbag)? a minor noble who to protect her family sent him and the father away? I haven't solidified anything here yet and I'm going to just see how/if this story develops on it's own or if i will choose to push it later.
