Background: Roric was born to a family of four in mining city of Sundabar, Silver Marches. He had a good and loving childhood. His mother stayed home and cared for him and his little brother. His father worked in the militia of the city, called The Stone Shields. He was a firm man with strong principles and he was also a devoted Helmite and took volantery work on the local temple, called The Hall of The Vigilance, when he had time from his duties. It was no suprise that Roric and his little brother was brought up with these same traits as his father. Often when they were old enough, his father would take the boys to see the training the militia practised in the barracks. The two little boys took part in the training with their wooden swords out of the way of real training. Years rolled on and those wooden swords became metal ones and the corner became the very training circle the boys were first watching. His father knew the dangers of the harsh North, had taken part in more than a few orc raids and survived with his skill with arms. He passed on everything he knew to his sons, hoping they would use them to protect themselves and others in need.
As Roric grew to a fine young man, time came for him to take a course in his own life. He was old enough to go and make a life of his own. His father was now retired and had became a priest of the Watcher in the local temple. Roric followed his father and worked for the church for a few years, taking chores and duties given to him with a firm nod. His father had hoped his son would sign up for the Stone Shield in his footsteps, but this was not the case. As time rolled past Roric loaned for the road. He had always dreamed of traveling the roads and seeing the world. When his little brother grew and eventually signed up for the Stone Shield, Roric knew he could now fullfill his dream. Knowing his father was content that his place was now filled by his brother. He then packed his things and said farewell to his family, promising his old man he would keep all he taught in his heart. A thing which made his father a very conent and happy man.
Roric worked as a sellsword around the area of Sundabar for some time and then after gathering enough funds he took to the road towards Silverymoon and kept going. After a few years passed he finally made it to the city of Neverwinter. There he worked for sometime until making his way to the famed Helm's Hold nearby the city. He stayed in this helmite community for two years, until making his way to the ports of Neverwinter. He there took work in a merchant vessel that was sailing towards Baldur's Gate. Not once he failed his father on his journey and he was firm of not doing so.
