Where does an early epic level?

Unread post by Akroma666 »

So.. I just hit 21.. yay! and I can't level at my old favorite spots because they no longer exist.

Trollclaws East was removed, Cloudpeak Descent and epic lizards are gone too. Where would a level 20-24 character level alone when they don't have acid or fire for the trolls?

Can we get a low level epic zone added?

Fishing for lizardmen? What bait and line weight do you think I'd need? Baby halfling and a 50lb line?

Yeah, fishing is okay ...

I had thought the point of removing certain areas was determined, at least in part, by them having less foot traffic...?

None of these three areas sound like they fit that criteria.

"Can we get a low level epic zone added?"

or put back one? Understanding that zones were removed that spawned mobs infrequently, but dont get epic lizards not making the cut, or cloud descent...

???
Some people say if you can't do something right, don't do it at all...I say maybe you just need more practice...?

I did naga cave from 21-28 quite happily and loot runs from then.

Evasion helps.

What is your build?

1.yuan ti is a good start
if you have good parties, venture deeper into the yuan ti temple
or the naga on the south east of the map after the guarded entrance by a dragon

2.yeti seems decent
should try the frost giants but be careful with the mystiques
if good party can go to the frost king

3.the reaching woods gnolls are decent(most likes to go there due to the loot and easy to kill gnolls)
but be careful if you want to fight the boss alone

4.Durlag is an undead place with good challenges
with strong party can go do the challenges but the puzzles are puzzling :)

5.Ulcaster Ruins need decent party (people who is expert with the puzzles)

6.Greypeak mountain needs strong party (fire giants and mage)

7.the ziggurat seems tough for newly reached lvl21

8.the spirit trolls needs strong party team mates (ex:Draviir that bash everything)

To be honest, some contect are soloable but most of the early and the latter epic places are designed to be in a good party that compliments each other characters.. (it makes for good RP and a good teamwork will lead to combination of friends to have fun together until lvl 30. i do believe its the main purpose so that people learn to work together while Rping their friendship along the lvling)

that is why many people complaint after lvl 20 they lvl very slowly, because they tend to go alone. if you find a perfect match for your characters, the flow of lvling from 21 to 30 will be very smooth provided you stick to the match while increasing teammates that you encounter along the way through RPing

Trollclaws west, cave with trolls in it. Go through field of the dead to reach it.

Gives you decent exp up to about 25llevel if you are not running a build with exp penalties.
Drops lots of troll hides, which sell decent fee at candlekeep, but are heavy to carry.
Can venture into the ogre cave in troll claws as well, but it gives less exp except for the Chief in there.

Otherwise the locations izzul mentioned.

Try Ogrann's ruins in the Upper dark. Second level of Kro's labyrinth too. CR18 and 20 respectively but at least at 21 you are not like 6 or more above those.

+1 Rarely visited, but well worth it. With a decent group you can go before epics.

If I can't go alone, what's the point?

I am specifically looking for a place to solo.. I usually play in low population times and my character is a fotf and a social outcast.
