Rumors continue to spread across the Sword Coast.

From the Friendly Arm, word spreads that a prominent conjurer by the name of Hubvert has been murdered. Some say the man was on his way to Candlekeep when tragedy struck, and it is there where his body was taken. Hubvert's apprentice has also gone missing, her fate unknown.

From the Woods of Sharp Teeth, panicked word spreads of sightings of a massive black widow spider, whose body rivals some temples in size. Indeed, the creature's abdomen is large enough that it breaks the canopy of the forest at times. The spider travels at an impossibly fast gait for something so large, and somehow manages to disappear into the forest with hardly a trace whenever it feels threatened.

Within Doron Amar, the village mourns the loss of a beloved defender by the name of Erenthal. He fell, ostensibly, as prey to the black widow. Erenthal's death has galvanized the village; tempered words of caution fall on deaf ears among the young, reckless and bold. They call for action to put the spider down once and for all.

More rumors fly from all parts of the Coast:

From Baldur's Gate, word continues to spread of a series of murders taking place in all districts of the city. It seems apparent the killings are connected, though how, only the victims seem to know precisely. Based on what little evidence has been collected, all the victims had some seedy and disreputable associations. No one seems willing to go to the Fist or the Watch; without any leads, the guardians of the city can act only as the cleanup crew when a new body is discovered.

From the Lion's Way, news of the appearance of a massive temple-sized spider alarm travelers, merchants and adventurers alike. The beast was reported to have been confronted by a band of brave warriors and mages, though it shrugged off their attacks easily. As more and more came to aid in the battle, however, the monstrous arachnid fled back toward the Woods of the Sharp Teeth at astounding speeds, and vanished.

Within Doron Amar, Saerthas - brother to the fallen Erenthal - begins organizing a hunt to slay the spider. He does so against the objections offered by one of the village's Councillors, Elyssa Symbaern, whose counsel for patience is embraced by most - but not all - of her people.

/OOC Often There is a number of in game props/clues for my plots. These only remain as temporary features while server is up. To provide an indication of when such clues are in game there will also be present an NPC 'Sparty' at FAI, north of Mudd. Also located at Market Building Sshamath Central,(When clues/drops relate to Upperdark/Underdark) IE if he is in game - some plot clues will be also be present. (this may save you unnecessarily looking for things when they are not there ie no 'sparty' no clues)

Other clues are held with PCs and as persistent documents and designed to encourage RP

Reports are still coming in of a flurry of activity in the Upperdark, resulting in the recovery of more Impish Cards, and other treasures besides. Since then finds have been more subdued, but remain consistent.

At the FAI after things had gone quiet. Bentley offered free drinks, very briefly, to celebrate what he has declared an end to the current spate of Undead activity around his Inn. The credit was arbitrarily awarded to two individuals seen casting Selune's subtle magic around the site. The Dunn fellow and a cleric of Selune were seen to perform some reassuring magic and since then things have been quite Q.

Further north there were unconfirmed rumours of Treants gathering, and a new sighting of a variation of the Lich Polvich.

There is a wild tale circulating that three adventurers after many weeks searching the Upperdark, and trading deep within dark spider webs, recovered a full deck of the Imp's Magic Deck. It is said they travelled to the Amn mountains near Beregost where they caught up with the Three Kings, three legendary traders from other planes. And so they played a hand or two with the magical deck. Rumour varies but it is generally thought they emerged more or less in one piece, and that hands of defensive cards were played to avert certain disaster, and ancient maps to untold treasures were unearthed. Promises were made, curses averted.

Elsewhere a few remaining magical cards remain in circulation their value undiminished. For those that know the magical combinations, a hand played in a time of need, is a hand indeed.

The Imp card quest is finished, thanks to all that played.

Some cards remain in play with PCs, knowledge is held on them with Candlekeep and players. Other cards may turn up. Speical hands may be played on dm events (with specific DM consent on the day, at their discretion) as they are useful for RP situations (other players may opt to respect them too on player events (at their discretion)

A merchant went missing with a precious cargo of Elturian cheese in the hills near Nashkel. An adventurer named Rick heard of this predicament and headed into the hills meeting up with a crew out cutting down giants. Delor, Lauric, Beau to name a few, and as a larger group they scoured the mountains and hills, descending into a cave to clear out more giants and other things to recover the merchant's cheese. What became of the cheese is not clear, but time will tell likely.

Elsewhere a cargo of \Dwarven ale was stolen and turned up at Xvart country to pay mercenaries and fire up the locals. A group of hunters found many a drunken Xvart within a large hall which served as a new Inn! the place became a drunken brawl and was soon cleared out.

It seems the Gnolls of Lions Way had come into treasure too for in one cave there they had hired mercenaries and extra guards for the unwary seeking their demise.

Rumors continue to spread across the Sword Coast.

From the Friendly Arm, reports circulate that dead bodies surrounded by curious webbing and bearing puncture wounds in their shoulders have been discovered all around the outskirts of the forest. At a passing glance, it would seem the giant spider is on the prowl once more.

Those who investigate the bodies might find that not all is as it seems, however ...

From the Radiant Heart Chapterhouse, word spreads that the wounded fiend-hunter Garavik has not stirred from his coma, and indeed his condition seems to be worsening. No amount of healing magic seems to improve his ailment; it would seem he is not long for this realm.

From Doron Amar, the villagers there have begun openly fearing that Saerthas and his retinue have been slain by the black widow spider. It has been many weeks since their departure from the village, and few of its citizens have heard anything from the party since.

A War Approaches?!
Word arrives to Baldur's Gate from the North that Daggerford was under four day siege by an army of assorted monsters: Bugbears, orcs, goblins, ogres and trolls, led by strange looking, tall orcs. The siege was eventually broken with help of adventurers from Waterdeep, and the monstrous army retreated from Daggerford for now, however the situation remains dire. Runners say that the Trade Way experiences increased attacks of orcs and other monsters upon caravans and merchants began hiring larger numbers of guards, as well as the more experienced ones to travel from Waterdeep towards Western Heartlands.

The general population of Baldur's Gate has mixed feelings about those news, as well as nobility of the city. Word reaches commoners, though, that Khelben "Blackstaff" Arunsun has made a sudden appearance at the Palace and requested immidiate audience with the Council of Four, which was granted to him right away. The purpose of his appearance remains a mystery.

Rumors continue to spread across the Sword Coast.

From the Radiant Heart Chapterhouse, word spreads that the fiend-hunter Garavik has awoken from his deep slumber and is now recuperating within the chapter house. Little else is known of what fate awaits him once that recovery is complete.

From Doron Amar, tales spread that the village has begun discovering patches of earth within its walls where arachnid egg clutches have been seemingly pushed up from underground. Odd mushrooms accompany every sighting.

From Ulgoth's Beard, the local taverns and inns see an influx of activity. Businesses in the town are more than happy to welcome the new economic opportunities from these travelers and mercenaries, though some can't help but feel anxious at their lingering presence.

Strange Fog At Sea Vanishes

The odd, green fog that has existed far out at sea has finally vanished.

Once the haunt of vicious sea monsters that troubled the area, the creatures were hunted down one by one by the brave heroes of the Relentless Storm. It's believed the monster's destruction finally dispersed the strange fog, and now the Sea of Swords can rest (relatively) easy once more.

Sightings of Ghouls in and around the farmlands continue to persist. There is a school of thought suggesting this is linked to ooze seeping along the Coast or perhaps Pact bound Casters. A wilder claim suggests the necromancers of Polvich are back at work. Whatever it may be the Fist are offering up to 5000 gold for useful information.

Orcs continue to be seen around the Friendly Arms scouting and earlier reports of an attack on the Arms cannot be discounted. Adventurers have been seen to take a strong no nonsense approach to incursions.

Herds of rare Deer usually seen further east have been seen and welcomed along the Coast. Some see this as a sign that nature will prevail over Devils. Others are less certain.

There is talk among the bards the Three Kings are upon the Coast once again to trade.

The price of silver fluctuated as supply and demand fought out an age old struggle. Adventurers, speculators, thieves, and Officialdom were all given a share of the blame. It seems demand for silver elsewhere was part f the problem, perhaps there are Devils beyond the Coast region too!

UNREST AT TROLL HILLS!!!
Rumours spread across Baldur's Gate that few runners hailing from Kheldrivver have been warning travellers and settlements against a rising new threat. Supposedly scouts of the small settlement have noticed that the Troll Kingdoms of Troll Hills have been moving a large number of their troops to the eastern fringe of their mountain range, their realm.

Settlements down in the Fields of the Dead are, quite understandably, terrified of these news, and many don't know what to do, aside of abandoning their fields and homesteads to run away south, which some of the locals at the Gate aren't looking forward to; Fields of the Dead are known to be fertile lands which often give a good food supply backbone for cities in the Western Heartlands.

Merchants that have recently passed through Soubar and came to Baldur's Gate (as usual, in haste to avoid monsters living there) can be heard speaking that the place's atmosphere is "Even more dead than my ten years dead grandmother, Lathander rest her soul." Considering the proximity of the tent settlement to Troll Hills, denizens of that place aren't looking cheerful either to possibility of being attacked.

Sightings of Ghouls in and around the farmlands spiked with an attack on adventurers gathered by a long burning camp fire outside the east gate. A follow up sweep by an impromptu gathering of concerned citizens uncovered some further signs of activity. A few days later Mill led some dedicated souls back to uncover ghoulish secrets. It is not clear what happened but it seems there have been no more gaggles of Ghouls gathering around the farmlands.

There is talk among the bards the Three Kings are upon the Coast once again to trade. Though as of yet no confirmed sightings.

Ghouls may have withdrawn from the Farmlands, to be replaced by some frozen blight, but ghouls are never gone forever, and recent reports put strange sightings faraway South of Beregost. Nearer to home a mixed force of responsible citizens put paid to a nest of Ghouls held together by a Vampire beneath the well in the Farmlands.

There is talk among the bards that the traders known as the Three Kings traded wisely with a nature loving group from the Coast having first sent them over the Amn hills to recover some of natures rare treats.

The price of silver fluctuated leading to outbreaks of violence and skulduggery as supply and demand fought out an age old struggle and the outcome was small amounts of silver trickled from the Coast southwards and over inflated prices.

Adventurers, speculators, thieves, and Officialdom were all given a share of the blame. It seems demand for silver elsewhere was part of the problem, perhaps there are Devils beyond the Coast region too!

Shadowy dragon like creatures, undead for sure, have been spotted more than once on the Coast, their purpose and arrival not clear yet. But one or two sighting of Palemasters may offer a clue.

There is talk among the bards that adventurers have been scouring the coast trying to solve the riddle of the lost silver mine. In other silver related news a well known Bard of Baldur's Gate chose to move a haul of silver south to traders there making a tidy profit. The great debate rages as to how long inflated prices for silver around Baldur's Gate will persist and should the clever money be moving elsewhere.

Have the Devils run out of flame, is the evil on the ebb, or should we still be stocking up on specialist weapons?

The price of silver fluctuated leading to outbreaks of violence and skulduggery as supply and demand fought out an age old struggle and the outcome was small amounts of silver trickled from the Coast southwards and over inflated prices.

Mention was made of the Twin Terrors, some kind of undead threat lurking in the shadows of more frequent and loud and terrible talk of Trolls and Devils. Have Devils become yesterday's news only the Bards can tell; You heard it here first they cry.

In other news a patrol of well equipped Dwarves sporting new silver weapons, crafted by seasoned craftsmen after their capture just prior to the Troll attacks, were being put through their final paces by Grendunor along the Northern tradeway before going to the shield wall.

Imagine their surprise to see covered wagons, Orcs, Bookeepers, and Darius Officials stood in some kind of discussion at the side of the trail.

The Dwarves continued on their way, glinting in the sun, and none too soon for there are rumours all did not end peacefully. The wagons were last seen heading east at speed towards the Orcs homeland.
