Dwarven Waraxe Models

Unread post by AlfarinIcebreaker »

Can we please extend current Dwarven Waraxe models with the ones from regular battleaxe? Current models are horrible and cartoonish.

+1 Pretty please.

Some battleaxe, handaxe or even the shorter Greataxe models can be used as well.

A little bump. Started playing my dwarf again so I remembered how ugly the models for the dwarven "go to" weapons were. I'm not experienced with the toolset so the original idea was to just expand the models with the ones from greataxe/battleaxe? The logic behind it is that it wouldn't be hard/time consuming to implement since I know that our devs are busy as it is.

+1, I've hated the limited Dwarven Waraxe models for a long time. Four looks; two are stock, one absurd, one looks like a lollipop. Longsword and bastardsword share tons of looks. So should battleaxe and dwarven waraxe.
Vogar Eol - Dwarf, "I likes pixie wine. It just be hard catching enough pixies to squeeze."

Rashal - Lady's Man, "What do you call a male elf? Pathetic, as it were."

I found an interesting set of hand axe models...wish some of those could also be enlarged for d-waraxe use!

It's pretty disappointing indeed.
"Hey dwarves get a free awesome weapon. But it looks like crap! Mwahaha"

Dwarven Waraxes are supposed to look like this.

So whatever looks like that (not too big, not too large), it can be duplicated for dwarven waraxes.

There are a few here that look like Dwarven Waraxes.

I get scared to get on these forums sometimes because I want to do so much but don't want to stretch myself thin. Currently however I am working some conversions and new models into game. Getting some of those models resized is probably the easiest solution in the meantime. I'll talk to CK about it and see if this is something that can be done short term. Hers a little video I made today testing some bows, but I accidentally tossed some axes in here as well... obvsiously waayy too big lol but just to show... our silence is usually a good thing - means were too busy in the small workshop with the rest of the keebler elves.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfgBuz2 ... e=youtu.be

I beleive the axes are in the first 30 seconds of the video (they need added volume and downsizing... but its a work in progress. these are just two models of MANY I have collected but not put out yet)

I would definitely agree with this, and also ask if they could be resized for regular battle axes too. The various axe types (save for those hand axes) have some of the worst weapon appearance options currently, with there only being over-sized and unwieldy-looking models. Would absolutely love to get some realistic looking axes as an option.

Should we get a mod to move this to the public Media thread area?

Okay more substantial bump:

In the photo with examples I like the slightly shorter/smaller looking Dwarf axes. When dual wielding with some of the ones we have right now, it looks like my character is shaving his beared with the back of his axe due to the size :)

Thanks for the bump, wurdpass. We're glad you like the idea of more axe models. I think someone on the Media Team is looking at the possibilities of introducing a few more, but we really only have a couple people capable of full-on modelling work (with athornforyourheart being our most active one), so I can make no promises or share no timeline. I can, at least, state that we've noted your interest!
